A "Sketchy" Creation To Choose From

This week’s Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to choose between two sketches DT member Nat created. Or you can do both if you feel like more of a challenge. If only there were more hours in the day, I would do both, but I ended up doing only one. Below are the two sketches to choose from:

Sketch #1

Sketch #2

I chose to do Sketch #2. Below is my entry:

The cardstock is from Bazzil. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Collection. The image, sentiment and mice feet are from the PB Micey Day collection, that I won from Guest Designer Debby from PB Saturday Challenge's Christmas Blog Hop. Thank you again Debby! The image was colored with the following Copic colors:

E33, Y17, R59, RV32 and the colorless blender.

The image was cut using my Nestie small circle and circle scallop die cuts. The sentiment was also cut with my Nestie small petite oval and oval scallop. I also sponged on some Versa Color sand beige ink on the image and sentiment. I used my Sakura glitter pen to add some glitter to the image.

I also added in some dew drops from The Robin's Nest.

Happy New Year!

This week’s Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to make something in celebration of the New Year! Because I have been recovering from a cold, I threw a card together last night for this challenge. Below is my entry:

Brown and yellow (Hollywood) cardstock is from Bazzil. I forgot who made the designer paper - got it in December for Christmas projects. I distressed the paper using Versa Color bark ink.

The PB image is from their Bubbly collection, which I noticed a lot of the DT members used a couple of images from that collection - so cute! I colored the image with the following Copic colors:

C5, E33, RV32, Y17, BV23 and the colorless blender

The sentiment is from Hero Arts's All Occasion stamp set.

I also sponged on some ink in the background with Versa Color sand beige. The image was cut out with my Nestie petitie small scallop oval die-cuts.

I used my Martha Stewart scallop punch for the yellow cardstock. The brown woven ribbon is from May Arts.

A Simple Kind of Recipe

This week’s La-La Land Crafts challenge is to use a "3-2-1 recipe." I find recipes to be a great challenge! This one gave me a good opportunity to go through all my paper crafting supplies to use what I have on hand.

The 3-2-1 recipe was created by Maureen Wong, one of the Design Team Members for La-La Land Crafts. The recipe goes like this:

3 designer papers
2 colors of cardstock
1 type of embellishment

Below is my entry:

Sparkle with color and a sketch

Been fighting a cold this week, so I only had time to do one card. I am glad the challenges I participate in let me use their challenges to combine them into one card.

Here are the three challenges:

1) La La Land’s Weekly Wednesday Challenge - Sparkle (anything from glitter to bling)

2) Copic Colour Challenge - Here are the colors to use:

3)Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Here is the sketch to use by DT member Nat:

I was so excited to use my Penny Black Catman stamp for the challenges! After seeing the sketch for the PB Saturday Challenge, I was thinking "Oh no, what am I going to do?" The stamp can fit in a circle shape, but the sketch had a rectangle shape to use for the stamp. Think I made it work.

Here is my entry:

Black cardstock (my stash)
Orange bling cardstock (Bazzil)
Background paper (Basic Grey's Eerie collection)
Stamped image (Penny Black's Catman using the following Copics: YR04, G94, V17 airbrushed, 100, C3, R20 with At You Spica orange and pitch black pens) Used the Nestabilities large circle and large circle scallop. Circle scallop was decorated with Tim Holtz's Distress Stickles and Sakura's glitter pen)
Purple flower gemstone (Basic Grey Bling It!)
Stamped sentiment (Savvy Stamps)

Inside of the card was done using the following materials:

Orange bling cardstock (Bazzil)
Purple and orange glitter swirls (Best Creation Inc.)
Spiders and spider webs (Stampendous!)
Gemstones (Hero Arts)
"Boo!" sentiment (American Crafts thickers) with Basic Grey's Eerie collection

This has to be my longest post. I had so much fun making this card for Halloween.

Early Christmas!

La-La Land Crafts released their twelve Christmas stamps this past Wednesday. All of them are so cute that it was hard for me to choose one. I decided to go with a character that I don't currently have.

In line with their Christmas line of stamps, This week’s La La Land’s Weekly Wednesday Challenge is Winter/Christmas. Below is my entry:

I love the easel card template! I recently came across the blog Magnolia-licious Highlites that hosts contests to make paper crafts with the Magnolia stamps. The challenge for this month was to use one of the Design Team's card sketches. Click here for the instructions on how to make this card.

This is Christmas Kirby. Isn't he adorable? He was colored with the following Copic colors:

E00, R37, Y38, RV13, E33, E35 and the colorless blender.

I also used Sakura's glitter pen for some spark on the stocking and Kirby's hat. At You Spica orange pen was used for the stars. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, stamped with Memento's Dew Drop Lady Bug. I used my Nestie petite oval scallop and petite oval shapes for Kirby, using At You Spica melon for the oval scallop shape.

All of the paper is from Bo Bunny. The gold stick-on dot embellishments and ribbon are from my stash.

A pretty simple card this week. Looking forward to the challenge next week!

Happy Fall!

Wow what a busy weekend! Even three-day weekends go by fast! Spent most of it pricing old scrapbooking materials I don't use anymore to sell at my local store's flea market next week. It was nice to get rid of stuff I don't use anymore but boy, it took awhile to sort and price everything!

Anyways, I was able to get to a couple of challenges. This one is for Copic Colour Challenge #29. Below are the colors to use for the week:

I had all the colors except for YG97 so I used YG99 instead. Beautiful colors! Below is my entry:

I was so happy to finally use my C.C. Designs Autumn Sugarplum stamp set! I love it soooo much! I used the challenge colors plus YR23, YG99, E07 and the colorless blender. Cardstock is from my stash. I used my Cuttlebug swiss dots for the embossing of the card. Background paper is from Graphic 45's Playtimes Past - Jack and Jill design with Memento's Potter's Clay ink to rub on the edge of the paper. The sentiment was cut using my Nesties petite oval and petite oval scallop. Ribbon is from my stash.

It's Christmas Time...Again!

Another busy week for me. Only have time to do two challenges this week. Wish there were more hours in the day!

I am doing the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and the Copic Colour Challenge this week. This week's PB challenge is all about Christmas! Funny since I did a PB Christmas card not too long ago for a previous PB challenge.

Here are the Copic Colour Challenge colors for this week:

I don't own these colors, so I used different colors for my entry.

Below is my entry:

Cardstock is from my old blank card stash. Background paper is from Karen Foster Designs. I used PB's Holly Day critters stamps and colored them with R59, BG09 and E57 in place of the challenge colors. I also used RV32, Y17, E21, C3 and the colorless blender. I used my Nestie large rectangle for the image and sentiment and large rectangle scallop for my old stash of blue cardstock, adding in some sparkle dots from my Sakura gelly roll pen. I added some pearls from Hero Arts. Blue snowflake border is from Queen and Company.

Thanks for stopping by!
