I just love this Simple Stories collection !! The colors are amazing.
Fall has always been my favorite season.

The mini album measures roughly 5"X 7".

This kit has so many beautiful embellishments . Lots of stickers, ephemera and chipboard pieces to choose from to create this project.

He's a close up of the cover.

I hope you've enjoyed today's post.
Best regards and wishing my American friends Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's a quick look at how I created this layout with the Simple Stories -Spring Farmhouse collection featured in the main kit.

Live Simply layout be Marielle

Step 1- You will need a plain white cardstock and the black and white gingham pattern paper from the Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse collection.

Step 2- Using a small dinner plate trace a half circle at the center top portion of the patterned paper.

Step 3- Cut the half circle with scissors and adhere to white cardstock ,as shown.

Step 4- Trace a smaller circle ,as shown.

Step 5- Doodle black lines over penciled lines.

Step 6- Adhere larger blooms at the edge of larger half circle.
There are so many floral ephemera pieces in this kit !!!

Step 7- Add smaller flowers on the doodled half circle.

Step 8- Add title and sub title.

Step 9- Add photos, journaling and splats of black paint to finish this layout.

Thanks so much for visiting the blog today .
I hope you all have a great rest of the Summer.

Fun with frames by Marielle

Hello friends, Marielle here today with a step by step tutorial on how I created this layout using chipboard frames included in the beautiful May main kit :)

{heart} this photo
This really is my favorite photo of my boys when they were younger. I'm currently trying to coax them to do a redo of this photo now that they are older.

Start your layout by placing the large title on the small floral patterned paper. LOVE the puffy stickers from American Crafts -Vicki Boutin in the May main kit.

Cut a few strips of patterned papers and 2 strips in white cardstock in various widths.

Adhere strips as shown and machine stitch into place .

Trim off the strips at the bottom of the background paper.

Paint 3 of the larger chipboard frames with white paint, I used chalk paint I had in my stash. Let dry.

Place frames over the paper strips.

Using navy DMC floss ,stitch frames into place.
I love how these frames add texture to my layout.

Add photo over the frames (I used 3D foam) and add chipboard "happy" sentiment.

Add floral embellishments above and below the photo.

Finish layout by adding journal strips, a few of the pink puffy heart stickers and a few splats of black paint.

There you have it !
I hope you've enjoyed today's post and that you time to create real soon !
Hugs,
Marielle

Marielle’s craft space

Hello friends, Marielle here today to share where I create my projects for My Creative Scrapbook kit club every month .
I have been a scrapbooker for about 16 years and in the past year I have graduated to a real space to create !
Last winter we finished our basement and I took possession of half of the square footage for myself... I figured that I deserved a girly space of my own ( I live with with 3 hockey playing boys-men).

Ta-da !!!
Here's a view from the stairs of my happy place.

I refinished a lot of the furniture in this room. The navy blue cabinet was an old TV cabinet my husband had as a bachelor. It was an ugly light wood grain, I painted a dark navy to match the far wall of my basement. I added 3 stained wood planks to the top. I also added a piece of white bead board at the back of the cabinet and some new hardware ( from a second hand store).

This old gazebo door means a lot to me, it belonged to my dad and I asked my mom to have it after he passed away 1 1/2 years ago.

My dad is always watching over me :)

Love this little wall cabinet . It's perfect to keep some of my paints handy.

My favorite color is Tiffany blue and I chose it as and accent color for my room ( Benjamin Moore) Scuba Green .

The large white bookcases were given to us and freshened up with white chalk paint.

This small filing cabinet (also a second hand store find) was painted with teal chalk paint. Love it !!

I store my Thickers by color in the top drawer.

This small cabinet is perfect to store stamps, stencils, markers, etc.

Small dollar store baskets hold my ink supplies.

As some of you may know, I am a member of the Jillibean Soup design team. I like keeping all of my Jillibean supplies together .

My new toy !!! :) I'm still learning how to use this baby !

This huge desk was also a second hand purchase. I refinished it to match the dark wood floors

This cute cake stand holds flairs and washi tape.

This 2 tiered stands holds jars of small stuff ,enamel dots and a few small punches.

.

Here's a front view of my happy place. :)

This is a view from my desk . The February main kit is on my desk....wait until you see it !!

and finally ....the rest of my finished basement.

Hope you have enjoyed viewing my craft space, I am very happy about how everything turned out and so happy to finally have a space that inspires me to create !
Thanks for visiting :)
Hugs,
Marielle
