Papertake Sketch Time

Happy Sunday everyone! I've just had my lunch and am now sat in front of the grand prix tapping away on the laptop, looking forward to my week off. Ahh.... it's such a hard life! Thought I'd share a little card I made using yet another Kenny K image.

The eagle-eyed among you will notice that I followed the sketch this week at Papertake. It was a Dawny P spesh and I flipped it over so that it tied in with my image a bit better. I also squeezed in the challenge from One Stop Crafts as they wanted to see patterns. As you can hopefully tell, I went for dots and checks.

Stampin' for the Friday Sketchers...

Copic Colour Challenge 57

Oh my word, the week is flying past in a total blur. I just can't keep up at the moment! Consequently, this card was made at about 11pm last night.... nothing like a little bit of pressure now, is there?!

The challenge this week at CCC is to use G99, BV08 and E59. This isn't a combo I'd generally use a lot but I actually really enjoyed playing with it :o)

I also used the fab Dawny P sketch over at Papertake this week. I've said it before but I love Dawny's sketches - always so simple yet perfect! The sketch also gave me the perfect opportunity to use one of the gorgeous new images from CC Designs. All of these fab new stamps are available here from Dies to Die For.

Anyone for Anya? Flower Power

Happy Valentines Day! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend and that you have been spoilt rotten by your loved ones. I was lucky enough to receive a very large bunch of red, white, dark pink and light pink roses. He's a lovely boy, isn't he?! Especially as I abandoned him last night to go to a roller disco with my girlies. It was so much fun and I was one of the only ones NOT to fall over! Result! Lets just say, vodka, wine and wheels don't generally mix well! ☺

As it is Sunday, it is time for another Anyone for Anya? challenge! This week we are sponsored by Stempelstudio and the theme is flower power! Nice and easy, there is no excuse for you all not to join us this week!

I picked up this paper pad in Hobbycraft last Sunday and I've been dying to attack it all week! I flipped this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday 180 degrees and used that for the layout. I changed it a little bit so I hope it still qualifies for the challenge.

4 Challenges in 1 Card & Exciting News!

Can you believe it?! I managed to squeeze 4 challenges in to just 1 VERY bright card! It's a bit of a first for me and I am feeling rather pleased with myself! Not a huge fan of the card but pleased with the 'challengeability' of it! The 4 challenges and the requirements are:

4. Creative Card Crew - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

I have had these Making Memories papers for ages but have barely used them as they are so bright! I've always thought they were too busy to put together too but yesterday I was feeling brave and just decided to go for it!

So, as the title of this post indicates, I have some VERY exciting news to share with you. A little while ago, I tentatively entered in to the Whimsy Stamps DT call. I say tentatively as I kinda knew I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting picked. Well, lets just say, I clearly know nothing as Denise has asked me to join the Whimsy team!

It actually took me a while to reply to Denise's email as I spent quite some time leaping round the house in celebration! I am so grateful to get the chance to work with such a talented DT and can't wait for my first stamps to arrive so that I can start crafting up a storm! :o)

Fluttery Crafts Challenge #1 - I'm on the DT!

That's right - I'm on the DT for this fab shop - Flutterby Crafts! Yay me! There will be monthly challenges set and the lucky winner each month will win a £10 voucher to spend in the shop. The first challenge is called "Everything is Coming Up Roses" and I hope you can all take some time out from your Christmas cards to join in! Here is my offering......

I started by layering on some yellow Core'dinations cardstock onto a square blank. Onto this, I mounted some gorgeous Making Memories paper that I have had yonks but have never had the nerve to cut! The image is a Magnolia which I (luckily) received in a RAK earlier in the year. I have coloured Edwin with my beloved Promarkers and highlighted the corners with a paper piercer. The card was finished with a flower, some ribbon and a metal 'friend' tag, attached with some chain from my new jewellery making stash.

I struggled a bit with this one as it was all a bit too 'busy' and nothing quite seemed to look right! I hope you all think it turned out alright in the end though!

A Late Mojo Monday #58

I'm a little late sharing this card with you I'm afraid as I completely forgot about it! And, it was made following a challenge sketch from last week, so I think I have rather missed the boat!
I made this card for Vicky with whom I did an image swap with last week. I mounted panels of Making Memories papers onto my card blank and added this fab Elzybells image. The girls are coloured with Promarkers and I tried my best to match this to the spotty DP. I made a circular sentiment using my nesties and a bargainous Studio G stamp set and finished the card with some Poppicraft ribbon.

Time for some good news. It is nearly Friday, which means that is nearly the weekend! Woo-hoo!
