Redonkulous DT Day #10!

Wow, my updates have been a little erratic lately, haven't they? So sorry folks but I have basically moved in to my office for the last month (75 hours last week) so there has been very little time for crafting.

However, I did manage to fit in a little time to make a cute creation using a fantastic Redonkulous image - Baby Girl Hugs.

My favourite thing about Sheryl's images are that they are just so lovely to colour. You can get so much depth into the image, I just really love playing with them. Just a shame my picture taking skills are so rubbish!

Anyway, better get back to work. Boo hiss. I really hope that you've had a fantastic summer and that you've managed to squeeze in much more crafting and blogging time than me!

Lots of love,

Redonkulous DT Day #9

Hi everyone! Boy, I'm sleepy today. I've spent the past week up in London attending lots of Olympic events. I've had an incredible time, but it wasn't an overly restful break. Consequently, after 1 day back at work, I'm ready to keel over! However, despite my super-busy week, I did manage to squeeze in a tiny bit of crafting time to create a card for my Redonkulous DT Day.

How pink is this one?! I was feeling girlie, so I piled on the bubblegum pink.... and a little bit of green just to balance it out a bit! I think the colour combo works really nicely with this gorgeous Redonkulous image. She is such a cute and versatile image, I can see that I am going to use her again and again. If you'd like to get your very own 'Friends Forever' image, just click on the little linkie below to go straight to her in the shop :o)

Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you have a spare minute or two, please hop over to my Redonkulous team mates blogs and show them some love too. You can get to them via Kim's blog.

Redonkulous - DT Day!

Two posts in one day... almost unheard of for me! Well, I'm back with my second Redonkulous card! I can't tell you how much I love these images, they are just so lovely to colour.

I got in such a tiz with this card...! It actually started off life on a square scalloped white base. Then I couldn't get the papers to balance out. So I moved it to a rectangular base. Then I thought it wasn't jazzy enough. Then I added the butterfly arch. Now I'm really pleased with it!

Really hope that you like my card. Make sure you stop by my teamies blogs (Shell and Debs) to check out their beautiful creations ☺

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 1 of 11....

Woo-hoo! My Easter holiday is finally here! 11 days off and my aim is to post a card each day..... I know, ambitious for a blog slacker like me, right?! Anyway, I'm starting as I mean to go on.....

I am totally addicted to the new Doodlebug 6x6 pads. I seriously can't get enough of these bad boys! I literally have DP coming out of my ears, but I just cannot resist a pretty bit of paper. Or even better... four!

Another crafty discovery this week are the Papermania Kraft card blanks. I normally avoid shop bought blanks like the plague as I generally find that they are either really expensive or appallingly bad quality. However, I noticed these whilst I was in The Range today and, as I'm addicted to Kraft, thought I'd give them a go. I'm really glad I did as they seem reasonably good quality and were a complete bargain. Will be returning soon to stock up.

Challenges...
Allsorts - Photo Inspiration (I picked out the pastel colours and the Easter/spring theme).
One Stop Crafts - Easter (Easter bunny!).
Paper Sundaes - Easter.
Crafty Creations - Signs of Spring.
My Mum's Craft Shop - Easter Creations/Animals.
DYSU? - Friendly Critters.
Hope all well with you guys. I'm off back into my craft den now as I'm home alone and experimenting with Glossy Accents...!

Some Little Notelets

I was totally rubbish with Christmas cards this year. I made about 4. Useless. So, I decided to make a few {super quick} notelets to send as 'New Year' greetings. {You can click to make them a bit bigger ;o) }

I was keen to use up some of my lovely, but older, Doodlebug papers. As most of you know, I am a complete paper fiend and am constantly eyeing up more papers. However, I've made a deal with myself that I can buy some new papers in February, as long as I start using up some of my older ones in January. That's a fair compromise, huh?!

I also had these mega cute Elzybells stamps which I bought yonks ago but which have never seen ink. What a travesty?! Anyway, I had loads of fun colouring these mega simple images. We all need simple cards sometimes, right?

And a few more, this time with a chocolatey theme.....!

I was going to enter these into a few challenges but have just realised that I have missed the deadline by about 4 minutes. Nothing changes does it?!

By the way, before I go, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the very warm welcome back that you all gave me! I really appreciated it and it has made me realise just how much I missed you guys during my blogging break :o)

ETA: Oh dear... I broke my resolution already. I didn't wait 'til February. I just bought 2 new papers pads!!! ARGH! Well, tell me, who can resist Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon ON SALE?!?! ~♥~ Pin It

Mmm.... Cupcakes!

Oh dear... First day back at work for a week. Yuk. As much as I love the people I work with, I would much rather be at home, crafting up a storm! Is it wrong that I've told them that too?! Anyway, a quick and simple card from me today but one which fits a few challenges.... Stamp Something (I was inspired by that big ole cake in the photo!), Crazy 4 Challenges (Cupcakes!) and Crafty Catz (Buttons and Bows).

Goodie List........

Whimsy Spring Baby

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm all excited today as I only have 2 days left of work before having a week off. Woo-hoo! I'm scheduling in some crafting, some clothes shopping, some eating, some crafting, some craft shopping and some more eating.... You get the idea!
Today I've got a wonderful Whimsy image to share with you! Our stupendously talented illustrator, Crissy Armstrong, has excelled herself again with this gorgeously clever carousel horse. Don't you just love the way the little foal nestles in against her Mum? Too cute!

I've realised lately that I am ridiculously predictable with colour. I always go for pinks and greens and yellows and turquoises..... Note to self: be more adventurous with colour!

Goodie List........
Stamps: Proud Mamma by Whimsy Stamps.
Paper: Doodlebug.
Copic Colours: C1, C3, C5, C7, E31, E33, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y17, Y21.
Tools & Embellishments: Card candy.

I'm also entering this card in to a few challenges.....

Simon Says Stamp - Easter or Spring with Some Glimmer
Although you can't see it from this picture, there is actually glitter on the white frilly bit around the saddle. And I used some sparkly Core'dinations Gemstone cardstock too.

One Stop Crafts - Feeling Fruity
I went for colour scheme rather than edible stuff, obviously!

Charisma Cardz - Spring Has Sprung

Stamp Something - Doodling

I hope everyone is enjoying the week and that you are all looking forward to that fabulous bank holiday weekend!

Copic Colour Challenge 36

Sorry for the slightly late post, I've just had Spinning and I'm cream crackered! Really need to have a kip now, sooooo tired! The good news is that after today, I'm off for 5 whole days - woohoo!

Right, down to business. It's Wednesday, which means that it is Copic Colour Challenge time! This week we are sponsored by the wonderful InStyle stamps and the lovely Virginia has provided the DT with images to use - cool huh?! The colours this week are G99, V17 and YR68....

This card started as a total disaster and was then rescued slightly when it became it's current state! To start with, I had nothing in the top right hand corner. I kinda thought something was missing but decided less was more. Ali then said, "it needs something in the top right hand corner". Grrr.... So I added a sentiment. DISASTER! Looked blinkin' awful. So I ended up ripping it (and half of the Doodlebug paper) off and covering the remaining mess with this huge bow ensemble! The things we go through for our art eh?!

Goodie List........
Stamps: Sasha by InStyle Stamps.
Paper: Doodlebug.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) & Copic markers.
Embellishments: Ribbon, embroidery thread, button and gems from stash.

Hope all you Copic users are able to join us this week!

Copic Colour Challenge 28

I'm officially back in to my card making! Woo-hoo! So glad it didn't take too long. Luckily, my creative juices got flowing just in time for the Copic Colour Challenge! This week, I chose the colours - BG24, E47, R85. Now, these are colours I use all the time so I was quite happy using them. Just hope everyone else is!

Even though it may not look particularly spectacular, I'm a bit proud of this card actually.... As I've mentioned before, I sometimes really struggle pairing papers and totally envy people who can put all sorts of paper combo's together and make it look fab. I admit I'm getting better, but I never stray from one series or pad of paper. BUT, on this card...... I managed to combine 3 different BRANDS! Seriously impressed myself I have to say ;o)

Goodie List........
Stamps: Panduro.
Paper: Pebbles inc, K & Co, Doodlebug - Check me out!
Cardstock: Bazzill 'Kraft'.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) & Copic markers.
Embellishments: Prima playmate flower and brad from stash.

Hope you are all well and that you are looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend as much as me!

A Spoon Full of Papertake Something!

Ooh, don't you just love it when you can combine a couple of your fave challenges?! Well, today's card incorporates Papertake Weekly (My Favourite Things), A Spoon Full of Sugar (Hearts) and Stamp Something (Pink, Green & Yellow).

I guess from the picture you can see that the colour combo and hearts aspect are fairly obvious, but as for the favourite part...... I'm totally smitten with my scalloped blanks, this DB paper I picked up in Newbury and my Copics. Also, I recently went through the mountains of images that I have received through swaps and RAK's and sorted them by company and then by 'favouriteness'. Consequently, you can guess where this super cute Panduro image got sorted can't you?!

Goodie List........
Stamps:
Panduro.
Paper: Doodlebug, Core'dinations CS.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) & Copic markers.
Tools & Embellishments: Craftwork Cards Mini Messages.

By the way, make sure you hot foot it over to Dies to Die For as Tracy has just got some lovely Magnolia stamps in (too cute!) and also has a very nice stock of Martha Stewart punches IN STOCK! She also has Bilmalarna stamps and Fairy Doodles in too. You'll be spoilt for choice!
Right, must dash, busy day today. Need to do a bit of EA Active on the Wii and then it is off to my friend's little girls christening. Lets just hope my nice frock doesn't get ruined in the monsoon we are expecting today!
P.S. Not sure if anyone is interested in this but I have added a 'Subscribe by Email' button to the column on the right. ~♥~

Sorry I've Been MIA!

I am so sorry that I haven't visited any of your lovely blogs the last couple of days. I've had lots on at work and have been battling against an annoyingly pathetic cold. You know the ones? You don't feel brilliant but you don't feel so bad that you can phone in sick?! To make matters worse, our fridge freezer AND our oven have gone doo-lally at the same time so we keep having to dive home from work to let electricians in. It's also taking about 3 hours (no lie!) to cook dinner every night! The impact has been that I have had very little free time for crafting - boo hiss.

Luckily, I do still have one card that I made the other weekend that I haven't yet shared with you. This is one of the cards I made using my DT stamps from Dies to Die For and it is from the same CC Designs set as the one I showed you the other day with the little bear.

I've had this card in my mind for quite some time, however, it didn't come out quite as I'd planned - they never do, do they?! I used my Versamark pad to stamp the ice creams on to the brown card and then heat embossed them with clear powder to make them stand out a little more. It's not really a technique I've used before but I'm pretty happy with the result.

Goodie List........
Stamps: CC Designs - Sweet Treats - Available here from Dies to Die For.
Paper: Doodlebug, Core'dinations.
Ink & Colour: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and Copics.
Embellishments: Adhesive gems and Nestabilities.

Hope you are all well, I will try my bestest to visit you all over the next couple of days. Thanks for still leaving me lovely comments even though I have been a naughty blogger!

Papertake Weekly...and Copics!

Just a quick one today so that I can post this card in time for the Papertake Challenge sketch. Ali is waiting to get on the PC so I had better be swift!

I made this card using a gorgeous Hangler and Stanglar image that my friend Kirsty sent to me. Isn't it the cutest?! I coloured with..... Copics. I'm afraid that I have sidelined my ProMarkers at present as I cannot seem to get any depth to my colouring, to the point that I just gave up in the end and purposefully coloured everything flat. So, I decided Copics were for me. They arrived in force yesterday and I LOVE them. Although, my pinks seem a little bright..... I'm wondering....what are everyone's favourite pink Copic combos?

So anyway, back to the card. The papers are Bo Bunny 'Smitten' which are gorgeous as they have a wonderful shimmer to them. The oval sentiment tag comes courtesy of a Cuttlebug die and the sentiment itself is made of Doodlebug rub-ons.

As you can see, I had to change the sketch slightly as it just didn't look right all on one side.....hope it still counts in the challenge!

So..... what do you think of the colouring?! An improvement? I really hope so as I was getting so fed up with it being so flat :o( Ooh, by the way, I must say a massive thank you to Rach as I have been obsessively stalking her blog recently, looking at her Copic selections for each and every card! Thanks so much for being so inspirational Rach!

Am I a Scrap Addict #10

Hi everyone, just a quick post tonight as I'm away this weekend and still have lots to prepare! Had to drop a quick post tonight though as it is 'Am I a Scrap Addict?' time again! This week, Deanne gave us a tricky sketch but I have to admit, I had a great time with it!

Following the sketch, I added Doodlebug DP onto a blank covered with chocolate coloured card. There was a lot of measuring and slicing involved, let me tell you! On to this crazy backdrop, I added a Nestie circle and a cutie patootie CC Designs bear. I love him! I coloured 'Bear' with ProMarkers and highlighted with white gel pen. Hot pink organza was wrapped round the card and a MFT sentiment added, complete with a faux stitch/doodle border.

Have a great weekend folks!

Am I a Scrap Addict? - Sketch #9

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a fun New Year. I have a nice quiet one with year but it was so lovely, I'm gutted all the fun is now over!

Unfortunately, as things got a bit hectic here, I has to miss sketch 8 of Am I a Scrap Addict. I felt really bad so I was very relieved that I was able to join in with sketch 9..... even though it was a real tricky one! As the 2nd January (today!) is my Dad's birthday, I decided to make a card for him to the sketch that Deanne provided....

I inked the edges of some Basic Grey 'Offbeat' paper (an absolute STEAL from The Glitter Pot at the mo!) and mounted this on to a side opening A6 card. I mounted on to this a Nestie circle and an owl coloured with Promarkers. I embellished the card using Poppicrafts ribbon and Hobbycraft adhesive gems. Finally, I used Doodlebug Simply Sweet rub-ons to create the sentiment which, as Dad turned 65 this year, seemed very appropriate! I'm dead chuffed with this card actually as, for the first time ever, I managed not to get in a horrible inky mess whilst distressing my papers! I'm hoping this means that I have 'cracked' this technique!

Right, I'm off to go play with the new stash I got for Christmas - you can expect to see some 'My Favorite Things' inspired cards shortly!

See, I told you that I love these images.....!

Yep, as promised, here is yet another Christmas card that I have made with my fab CC Designs angels. But aren't they adorable?!

This one was pretty simple....as are most of my cards! I took some gorgeous My Minds Eye Christmas papers, inked the edges and layered them onto coordinating Bazzill Smoothie cardstock. I studded the corners with silver brads and added a strip of stripy MME paper across the centre of the card. The central CC Designs image is mounted onto a Nestie circle and coloured with Promarkers. I finished my little cutie off with a touch of Stickles on her wings and halo.

Do you know what? There are yet more of these angels to come.....I just love them so much!

I've got 2 awards in the last couple of days from Sandra, Beth & Sally-Ann - thanks ladies!
Sandra and Beth passed on this little beauty....
"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind blogger's aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight blogger's who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

I think my 8 lucky ladies are going to be...

Beth & Sandra (I know they gave it to me but I still feel this sentiment applies to them!), Sally-Ann, Dawn, Vicky, Nikki, Amy and Terrie. The reason that I have chosen these ladies is because, no matter how ropey a card I post, this lovely lot are always the first to "ooh and aah" and leave gorgeous little comments. Thank you so much, I appreciate you more than you know!

The second award came from Sally-Ann......

"Pick 5 bloggers that you consider as your best blogging buddies and deserve this award for their contribution towards the blogging community, no matter what language.State the name of the author of each blog as well as a link to each one's blogs. Each blogger (upon acceptance) of this award should do a post and show the award on their blog and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award."

Umm, who shall I go for this time..... Well, I actually think all of the people I named for the Proximity award also deserve this award so consider yourselves awarded twice you lot!

Funky Christmas Panduro!

I have loved the cutie pie Panduro images from afar for ages but never got round to getting some. Lucky for me, one of my wonderful blogging chums (you're a lovely lot aren't you?!) came to my rescue and sent me a blinking great pile of them! Woo-hoo for me!

I coloured my Christmasy image with Promarkers and mounted simply on to green Core'dinations card stock. This panel was then mounted on to DCWV paper and more green CS with 3D pads. Embellishment comes in the format of lovely dotty satin ribbon and some silver Doodlebug brads.

Hope you are all looking forward to the weekend as much as me ;o)

Am I a Scrap Addict? - Sketch #5

Hey there peeps! Hope everyone is well and not too chilly! I don't know about you, but I'm sick of cold weather and long dark nights already. How many months 'til summer is it again?!

Well, it is time for another Am I a Scrap Addict? sketch and I have to admit, I struggled with this week's sketch. When I first looked at it, I had a vision immediately in my head of what I was going to do. Unfortunately, it did not translate well on to the page.....! AND, I swear that this is going to be the first and last time that I ever use reflective silver card - what a nightmare to photograph?! NEVER AGAIN!

I mounted a layer of Basic Grey 'Sultry' paper onto black card and matted this panel onto my card base which was covered with (evil) silver card. I cut a Nestie circle from more (evil) silver card and layered a black card star shape on to this. The whole ensemble was finished with a pink ribbon bow and Doodlebug rub-ons.

I'm not sure about this card. It feels a bit Marmitey... I can't tell if I love it or if I hate it! Apologies again for the picture!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Pink & Green

Sorry for not posting a card since last week - I've been too busy colouring up images with my new Pro Markers! Oh, how I love them! Such great colours and so easy to work with.

After several days of play, I finally decided that I had done far too much colouring and that I really did need to start turning the images into cards! So, without further ado, I present to you my entry into this weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge - Pink & Green........

I started off by layering some pink Core'dinations cardstock onto my card blank. Onto this, I layered more Core'dinations pink card and three strips of DCWV Spring papers. I tied a bow around this panel and added a 'Thanks' metal tag from the Eyelet Outlet. I coloured my Alota image with Pro Markers (mmm, yummy!) and outlined the image to make it 'pop'. The image was then layered onto a Nestie rectangle (which I hacked a bit out of to make it shorter!) and mounted onto the card with 3D pads. The whole thing was finished off with some Primas and a silver brad.

Am I a Scrap Addict? - Sketch 3

Well, after my hols, I've had no choice but to get right back into it. Why?! Well, I had my 3rd Am I a Scrap Addict DT card to make didn't I?!

I found this weeks sketch a little tricky so I rotated it 90 degrees and, all of a sudden, it became a lot easier to manage!

I matted Bazzill Bon Bon card onto a square card blank and added a strip of Doodlebug 'All a Flutter' paper, layered on Bazzill Bubblegum cardstock. On top of this, I added an embossed panel of Bazzill Swimming Pool card. The image is Elzybells 'Shopaholic' and is coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Sansodor. The whole card is finished with a Rubber Romance stamped sentiment, ribbon and some adhesive gems.

I so loved this Elzybells image that I used her again to make a little image wallet for a RAK I sent to my friend Sheila. The image and sentiment are completely appropriate for Sheila as she really is a complete (self-confessed!) shopaholic!

Thanks for popping by!

A Very, Very Late Mojo Monday Card!

Hi all! I'm back with a late Mojo Monday card from last week.... I think! I really liked the sketch but wanted to wait until my Nesties arrived. But, now they are here.......whoo-hoo!

This one is a bit of a Doodlebug fest with Doodlebug papers and Doodlebug Bazzill card. I've embossed the Bubblegum card base with Swiss Dots and have matted the papers with Swimming Pool card. The image is one I received from Beth ages ago and I have coloured with Prismas and Sansodor, highlighting with Stardust pens. The sentiment is from a clear £1 set.

Well, I think there is definitely one thing we can all say about it - it's definitely bright and colourful!
