JoAnn's Guest Designer | Park Lane Paperie Prairie Primrose

Hello Friends! Just popping in here to share another project kindly sponsored by JoAnn's Stores in the USA. Honestly, I am in love with the texture in these paper stacks. The foil and linen papers have me swooning! LOL!

For this project, I really wanted to play with mixing and matching patterned papers and printed cardstock. The paper stack used in creating this layout is Prairie Primrose.

step 1. Gather your supplies. The only embellishments on this page come from the gold foil thickers. Everything else can be found in the paper stack including the textured cardstock.

step 2. Trim cardstock to size. Trim the yellow gingham check to 8.25" x 4"; book text print to 8.25"x10.75"; and create a balance strip to cover the edges of the two patterned papers measuring 8.25" in width.

step 3. Fussy cut yellow roses from the linen floral patterned paper. Also trim a 4"x3" cut apart to create a tag. For the tag I trimmed the long sides by 0.25" and removed the top corners. Use a hole punch and a piece of twine to complete the tag.

step 4. Add you photo and start to layer the tag and fussy cut flowers. Add a title with gold foil thickers.

step 5. Cut nine (9) 2"x2" squares and curl the lower edge with a pencil. For more definition between layers, you could ink the edges with a soft brown.

step 6. Tuck the squares under the lower edge of the balance strips of patterned paper. The slight dimension from the paper curl creates interest and attracts the eye to look closer at the details.

Thanks for visiting here today. There's still more projects to come using the Park Lane Paperie paper stacks. Stay tuned...x

JoAnn's Guest Designer | Park Lane Sunshine & Rain...

Hello Friends! I am excited to share a little cross promotional guest designer role with you here today. I was generously sponsored by JoAnn' s recently to create some projects using the gorgeous Park Lane Paperie 12x12 paper stacks!

These paper stacks really do have something for everyone! It is chock full of beautiful patterned papers (front and back) as well as, glitter, linen glitzy and textured cardstock!

What more could you ask for!!

For my first project, I started playing with the Sunshine & Rain paper stack. You can get your own from JoAnn's here.

To bring this layout together, I carefully selected a photo to match the colour tones in the paper stack. I have been wanting to document this photo of my daughter for a while now and because of the glittery nature of her shirt, it was the perfect reason to use the glitter cardstock as a feature on my page.

The banner across the top of my page is a combination of textured white cardstock, vellum and glitter cardstock, layered together.

Using a border punch, I've added a small strip of decorative patterned paper to the top of the glitter banner. The rest I have just layered with images fussy cut from the patterned paper in the stack.

Journaling was typed directly onto the back ground patterned paper after I had a good idea of where my photo placement would be.

For the title I grabbed the glitter cardstock once more and using a Heidi Swapp "document" die, I ran it through my bigshot.

To complete my layout, I have added fussy cut flowers, some mounted onto foam dots, in a cascade across the photo. This placement is to mimic the way her hair falls over her shoulder.

I hope I have shown a fun way to use glitter cardstock in a simplified manner. Please be sure to stay tuned for more projects to come over the next week.

Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Introduction...

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to share a few creative projects from the Jillibean Soup blog last week.

These projects are a combination of goodies I had in my stash (some - like the corrugated chocolate alphas - are VINTAGE!!!) and some are fairly recent collections.

Peapod Parts are always a fun item to have in my stash! And I certainly had fun with this design! Apart from the Soup Staples II/navy salt patterned paper, the rest of the layout is all Happy Hues, Alphabet stickers and Peapod Parts.

The Shaker Cards from Jillibean Soup are simply divine!! I created this quick and easy card with strips of patterned paper and a cloud full of gems!

So this happened...

With going back to full time work after ten something years, I made the very difficult decision to sadly finish up with Pebbles Inc. At the time it meant that I wasn't designing for anyone except for me. And I was kind of happy with that. Kind of. But also sad. Because I love every single company I have worked for. And there have been a few.

But you know the saying, "when one door closes.." yeah that.

I could not say no when the lovely Stephanie from Bella Blvd contacted me and asked if I'd like to come back. So here I am! Back on the creative team with so many amazing designers. And I am excited for 2019. But mostly blessed..x
