Joining the 2nd Birthday Celebration of Citysquare Mall

CitySquare Mall is one of my favourite malls. I really like the spacious corridors, natural light and the restaurant outlets there. We received newsletter from CitySq Mall to inform us of a series of activities to celebrate its 2nd birthday. There was a finger puppet making session which interest Jaimie and myself and so we made our way there last weekend.

Finger puppet made with recycled materials. Jaimie and I created "Abigail" together. Jaimie is naming each and every of her toys nowadays...=.=

We learned that there was a tea party for children with Garfield and Odie taking place after the puppet making session. The condition: minimum spending of $30 in the mall. Oh, how difficult was that?! *hahaha~~* The children got to meet and greet the 2 cartoon characters, share the birthday cake, got an instant photograph with Garfield and Odie, and brought home a party goodie bag.

Jaimie seemed to like the chocolate cake very much. She was totally engrossed in her cake and couldn't be bothered with the quiz to win more party goodie bag nor was she eager for her turn to meet Garfield and Odie. "Eat my cake first, everything else later." Hmmm!

We were really glad to spend a happy afternoon in my favourite mall.

My Sweet Sweet Daughter

It isn't easy for me lately. Bad PMS, lots of deadlines crashing together, some friction here and there... but my little daughter never fails to cheer me up.

What more can I ask for??? Thank you, Jaimie! Love you so much!

She Likes To Paint

Jaimie has always liked to draw and paint. It was I who stopped her from painting because I can get very upset if the furniture, wall or floor is dirtied with paint. To be totally honest, I disliked art because I had never been good at it. The first subject I failed when I was in secondary school was "Computing" (yes, we had an exam on computing in sec 2 and I had ZERO idea what was going on...) and it was followed by Art. Anyway, I wasn't good at any subject except Chinese lah.

Sorry, I digressed.

So this morning, I finally allowed Jaimie to do some art at home. She was very happy to draw with poster colour.

Oh well... seeing the happy smiles on her face, I think I should close two eyes on the dirtied floor...

M&M

This is done by the great artist Saulne. This is an old piece of work he did some years back.

He noticed that M&M is my energy booster, caffaine, morphine, anti-depressant, PMS food etc. He warned me that if I eat too much of it, I will end up looking like one.

Woooo.... scary!

But I am not about to give up my solution to all my troubles.

Angry (Bird) -Angie

Remember I mentioned about the talented, funny-to-the-max comic artist Saulne whom we met during our trip to France?

That day, one of my colleagues SW posted something in her FB status which I thought was SO COOL.

"Life is like playing angry bird. When you fail, there will be a few pigs laughing."

I had to share with Saulne (Sylvain) this phrase because he is a big addict fan of angry bird! Then we started to talk about angry birds and I told him some of my students described me as "an angry bird"...=.=

He said it gave him an idea for a comic and he used my face in the comic!

Oh my god!!!! This is SOOOO COOOLL!!!! I have a comic strip drawn using my face!!! This is totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much, my friend!!!

Q & A on Sticker Art

Wolfgirl brought Jaimie some sticker art and the little princess was thrilled! She enjoyed putting the stickers on the paper a lot and created a world of her own. This is her garden.
Some FAQs you might have and I have asked Jaimie on your behalf.

Q: Why is there an insect on every house door?
A: The houses belong to the insects.

Q: Why is one of the houses hanging in the air?
A: Because it is a magic house.

Q: Why are there ladybirds on the cloud?
A: They are moving to another place on clouds.

Q: Why is there an earthworm on the cloud with the ladybirds?
A: Because the ladybirds are having a party and there is a 客人来~

Q: Why is this bee upside down?
A: Because it worked so hard that it had fainted.

Q: Why is this frog in mid air?
A: Because it was jumping.

Q: Why is there an ant on the sun?
A: I don't know.

After creating the garden, Jaimie couldn't wait to create her sea world.

It was a simple and fun art!!

Thanks, Wolfgirl!!

Jaimie's First Window Artwork

After another satisfying dinner with my little princess, we walked around IMM and I decided that it's time for Jaimie to try out this window art thingy which many kids are addicted to. I asked if she was keen to try and Jaimie was overjoyed. She hopped into the enclosed area and took a while to decide that she wanted to paint Doraemon. So, I forked out $5.50 for her very first window artwork.

She always coloured the tongue first.
I took a while to convince her that Doraemon was light blue, NOT purple or dark blue. Then, I remembered that I should not interfere with her choices since this was her own work.

Spreading the paint to cover the corners.
So far so good~

She panted the hands pink and one of the feet violet. I have no objections until she started to choose another colour for the other foot.

Do you think I am too laissez-faire to allow a magenta-faced Doraemon???? Maybe Jaimie's idea was that Doraemon was flying on its Dragonfly until its face turned purple? Hmmmm..... you never know!

Done!!

Jaimie was so fascinated with the artwork and pleased with herself. She was admiring her masterpiece as she was walking until I threatened to confiscate her purple-faced Doraemon.

This was quite fun! No wonder my friend Pam (not her children!) was addicted to it!

Teachers' Day 2010 (Food and Fun Day)

When you do things together with your friends, the fun gets multiplied. After the 2nd fun art session, the group of us calls for an art session for our monthly gathering. As daddies are not invited to this special mother-and-child-cum-teachers'-gathering-cum-celebration-of-WG's-big-promotion, I took the MRT to Clarke Quay with Jaimie in the morning. While walking from the MRT to Liang Court, Jaimie got very distracted by the beautiful lantern decorations. Ahh~ I almost forgot that the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up!

Viv baked the teacher-mommies muffins as teachers' day gifts! Thank you, my dear friend, for always making something for us every Teachers' Day.

While we "deposit our kids" with Elaine for the art session, we entertained ourselves by taking silly photos. We were behaving like children. Surely nobody will suspect that we are teachers...

Yeah! That's us!

Friends for 4 years!!

We can't believe it has been that long!

When we go out with our children, we can still look graceful, sometimes.

Most of the time we are Siow Char Boh.

Because we have to manage 1001 things at the same time! We have to be the 1000-hand Buddha, you know!

Thank goodness the kids didn't see what their mommies were doing behind their back, literally. They were really busy with Elaine! And Elaine is really good with children!

The kids are so coordinated. They chose bees, flowers and butterflies...

We had a good time and the children had lots of fun! Thanks, Elaine!! :) We'll see you again in the next holiday!

Then, we adjourned to Streets Hong Kong Cafe for lunch. Wolfgirl giving a treat because she has a big promotion!! Congrats, my dear friend!! And thanks for the yummy lunch!

This was hilarious. The kids (actually, it's Jaimie and Rain) suddenly broke into the Hokkien song "Wah Meng Tee", the theme song from the Taiwan drama "Love" aired every Saturday for the past few years. They were singing so loudly and even swinging their bodies to the melody! O.M.G.

After lunch, Joyce had to go off first. The 3 of us took a "stroll" in the supermarket. The crazy mommies went crazy again by doing a "trolley race" along the aisles. Gosh... I am glad we were not thrown out of the supermarket. I hope we were not being Stomped too. Hahahaha~~~!!

This is really a fun and crazy day!!!
