Happy Birthday, Sunshine!

I had a few minutes the other day while the little guy was playing in the tub.
My craft room is across the hall so I grabbed one of my stamp sets called "Typically Teen" and my new distress ink pad "mustard seed".
I grabbed some scrap paper and stamped here and there,
added some different colors and liked my color scheme.
I decided to try a sun ray pattern with the stamp I had been using
and the color combo I had put together.

Here is the result:

Once the ray was finished, I added a sentiment in a black and the
the word "sunshine" in the orange to be a bit playful.
I finished the card with a light mist of Perfect Pearls and water to add some sheen.

Supplies:
Stamps: Typically Teen by Karen Baker for The Craft's Meow and Harold's ABCs by Lawn Fawn
Ink: Distress inks in mustard seed, spiced marmalade and pumice stone, black memento
orange cardstock: Bazzill

You're Such a Deer!

Sharing a birthday card I made for my niece.
Features  stamp sets from The Craft's Meow "Typically Teen and "Oh, Deer".
The design was inspired by their March sketch.
Papers are "Kissing Booth" by Basic Grey.

I love the Polaroid look so much.
This one was made using the "George" cartridge on my Cricut (had to practice first)
I saw a blog that suggested using the square Spellbinders dies and I now have them to try.
I think that will be easier.
The banner was handmade.

The deer was stamped on white paper, colored with Copics and cut out.

Blast Off!

Last card for the Card drive for Grayson.

I made all these in one sitting.
I am taking a graduate class on literacy and while it is really educational, my craft time is very limited almost nonexistent until the end of April.
I walked in my craft room the other day just to see it.
I miss my toys!!

This card features MME "Lil' Robots" paper collection and stamps by Recollections.

1st Christmas card for 2013

Hello there!
Been a little quiet on the blog.
Kids are back in school, Christmas decor is all packed away, and I am caught up with the Card Drive for Addison.  As of today, I have received 244 cards!!

I have been having fun doing some scrapbooking. My layouts are hard to share b/c they always have pics of other people in them.  I finished my 12th page today (6 two page LOs).  I had started a few over the holiday break.

Sooooo, I took some time to make a card today.
This card features a new stamp I got for Christmas picked out by our older son and a new 6x6 pad I grabbed after Christmas for $1.79!   Yahoo!

I stamped the deer on the die cut and colored him with Copics.

I will be participating again this year.

Have a great day,

I just received the Bo Bunny "Rejoice" 6x6 pad
from the generous Brandi of the "Yankee Belle Stamper" and put it to use.
I  just love how these turned out!

The reindeer were colored with Copics and cut out.

Card Drive Update and Card

Less than a month to go for my Card Drive for Addison.
I have received over 180 cards from so many places including Australia, India, Canada, Michigan, Kansas, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, Virginia, Oklahoma, Maryland, Washington, California, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Wisconsin and more!!!!!

I am so touched by the response and I know the family will be too.
They really had a rough Thanksgiving week that included a day in the hospital, treatments, and a round of strep throat complete with all three girls vomiting at some point.
I have known mom for over 15 years and I know that she is one tough cookie, but everyone has a breaking point no matter how tough you are.

In addition to cards, they need our prayers for healing, strength, rest, comfort and moments of relief. Other ways to help is to donate to the Leukemia Society or donate blood to a blood bank near you.  There are so many people in little Addison's situation who can benefit from your gift of blood in your local community.

Here's a card headed their way soon:

It was inspired by my hat after I ran the Color Run 5K where
they threw colored powder at you at various stations during the race.

 Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn "Harolds ABCs" and "Say Cheese",
Craft's Meow "Typically Teen",  Paper Smooches
Inks; SU! and Distress
Other:  Spellbinder Wonky Rectangles Die

I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes Challenge

My next 5K is December 8th!
Love to have join the Card Drive for Addison.
Runs until December 20 and there are GREAT prizes!

Craft Dash #7: Simply Delightful

Sharing a card I made for the 10 minute Craft Dash #7
Features "Simply Delightful" and Typically Teen" by the Craft's Meow.
Thought I'd play with the crushed ribbon and make a large bow.
Not my usual style (thick to mail), but happy with the result.

The card took 7 minutes and 32 seconds to create.
All the stamps and inks were ready to go.
That bow took most of it, hee hee!

I am also entering this into Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes Challenge.

Still time to join the Card Drive for Addison!

Polaroid Birthday Card

Been busy here at our house.
My husband and I ripped all the shelving out of our master closet then patched, painted and rehung new shelving this weekend.  SO much more functional.

I am still working on the 16 scrapbook pages (8 for each child)
from our vacation last summer.
The basics are completed, just need to embellish a bit.
Nothing to write home about, just simple pages to remember the trip.

Made little progress on my 3 dimensional art project for our bedroom.
Bought the wrong paper, ran out of spray paint, ran out of glue sticks, ran out of motivation,
yadda yadda

Anyway, sharing a card I made this morning.
Lots if birthdays coming in October so I need to stock up!

The sentiments are supposed to mimic a flash going off...

Ok so this is my first attempt at coloring with Copics.
I won 40 of the Copic Ciao markers from Kathy's blog giveaway.
I admit I did not review any videos prior to coloring.
If you know of some good ones, please link me up.
I think it is *ok* for my first go at it.
Maybe looks better from a distance, hee hee

When I saw the inspiration photo on the Cupcake Craft blog,
I knew I wanted to make something. I just love daisies!
I combined the photo with a few other challenges and came up with this card:

Birthday Daisies

Sharing a card I just love!
These MME papers go so beautifully together for this sketch.

I combined two challenges, one to use patterned papers and
another to use a sketch and came up with this cutie.

I stamped the flowers on 3 different papers from the pad
and glued them on top of the full stamped image.
I added a bit of shiny paint to accent the center of the flowers.

Here's the sketch from The Craft's Meow:

Weeeeeee! another Halloween card

Sharing another Halloween card I made using the Craft's Meow August sketch.
This one features their "Typically Teen" set.

I am just "over the moon" with this set... get it?  I know... I know....

I heat embossed the "moon" in white and added a "swoosh"
to show the witch's flight path using another stamp from the set.

Trying to show the background stamping on the black die cut:

Birthday Butterfly

Browsed through challenge blogs last night while watching the Olympics
and designed a card inspired by a few.

The design is inspired by The Craft's Meow August Sketch.
The watercolor background colors were inspired by the latest Runway challenge photo.
.
I chose the colors from the dress (on my phone the third color looked more pumice,
but on the computer looks more green, go figure...) and loved the movement of it so
I chose a butterfly to represent that movement.

For the background panel, I stamped Concord, Pumice and Spiced Marmalade inks onto my mat, sprayed it with water and perfect Pearls and inked up my white cardstock.
LOVE the look!
I embossed the butterfly on patterned paper and embossed the sentiment on cardstock.
