Dearest readers of Beautiful Girlhood...

Many of you may be wondering where I have been of late...well, I have been writing somewhere else.  {{smiles}}

 

Yes indeed, I began a new journey and would love to share it with you...

I can be found on The Diary of a Country Girl, my new spot in the blogosphere!  {{Smiles}}

I still delight in Pinterest but no longer have a Facebook account...I made the decision to delete my page and personal profile after some thought on the subject...

But...my little shoppe is still open and I have actually just updated it!  You will now find pretty fabric bookmarks and even Christmas reindeer available for sale!  Christmas is drawing nigh and I am working on building up my stock of sweet fabric reindeer!

A Lovely New Spot...

Dear friends...I am simply delighted to share with you that I have a lovely new spot on the web...{{smiles}}

It is my new venture and where I will be writing from now on...

For sometime now I have felt my time of sharing on Beautiful Girlhood to have come to an end...I have loved every moment and have formed such beautiful, treasured friendships along the way!

Ornament Exchange Happiness ~ A Reveal

I have such a delightful post to share with you today, my sweet friends...

I participated in a lovely ornament exchange this year, hosted by my dear blogging friend, Vicky!

I discovered Vicky's sweet blog, Life on Willie Mae Lane, last year December, just as she shared the link up for her second ornament exchange...I knew I wanted to join in next year (this year) should she host it again...and guess what?  She did!  {{Smiles}}  Do take a moment to visit her...she has a lovely blog and a very kind heart!

I very excitedly signed up, and was partnered with Brownyn from Queen B Creative Me...she lives in Canada, and I sent her a Christmassy package which was oh such fun to put together!

Dear Cecilia from The B Farm, sent me this beautiful parcel...

I stopped by the post office yesterday afternoon and excitedly found my parcel waiting for me!  And my goodness...I was simply blown away at Cecilia's generosity!

Just look at what she blessed me with...



First I discovered an gorgeous tea cup and some delicious Christmas tea...did I mention how much I adore tea cups and anything to do with tea...? 

 

Well, I couldn't believe my eyes when I beheld such a beauty!  I am busy sipping some wonderfully spicy tea now...thank you, Cecilia!

...And see this handpainted card...so sweet!  I hung it on our little Christmas tree along with some other decorations and a few more cards...



Next I drew out an adorable snowman ornament...Cecilia made this little chap...can you believe it?
I love him so much, and have already popped him on our tree...I will think of Cecilia each year I hang him on our Christmas tree!  {{smiles}}

 




I have seen these lovely cookie stamps online before, and I was thrilled when I withdrew a one from my box!  It says 'Made With Love'...I simply cannot wait to use it!

Oh my...and see these sweet crafting goodies Cecilia included as well...I love Baker's twine and will so enjoy using it in my crafting!  And some snowflakes made from plywood, as well as darling little clothes pegs!  Perfect for use when I am in the mood for creating!

 

Oh Cecilia...you really spoilt me with so many delightful goodies...thank you so very much!

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to Vicky for hosting such a wonderful event in this lovely blogworld...I have been truly blessed by her friendship this year, and am so glad we ''met''!  Here is to many more wonderful years of blogging, dear Vicky!  {{smiles}}

And to Cecilia for being so willing to ship something all the way to South Africa for me!  You truly blessed me with your kindness!

As I write, the rain is falling heavily, and I give the Lord all the glory!  

In my previous post, I shared how we were praying for much needed rain...oh, how good ours Father is to us!  He provided just in time, and I couldn't think of a lovelier way to spend my afternoon than listening to the sound of pattering rain!

Enjoy all your Christmas preparations...this week I am working on gifts for the little girls, as well as Christmas crackers!

My dad arrived home on Sunday afternoon, so now we can cut our tree and decorate it in time for Christmas...what fun!

Christmas greetings to you, dear readers!

Travelling...

...And so the day I have been anticipating for the last couple of weeks has at long last arrived!

Sweet friends, I will be taking a little trip away this week, and oh!  Am I ever so excited!

My first stop will be my grandmother's gorgeous log cabin where I will spend two days 

relaxing in the beautiful peace and quiet of the mountains, sipping plenty cups of

steaming tea whilst exchanging creative ideas and comparing garden notes with my grandmother...

Then I will be joining my dearest friend for her lovely 18th birthday celebration...

It is always a great joy to be reunited with a close friend and a sister in Christ, and 

I know we will enjoy some precious time together amidst birthday celebrations...:)

And last but certainly not least, I will be spending a few days with another sweet friend

of mine whom I haven't seen in well over a year...we share a love for sewing, tea and

all things vintage...and we also happen to be penpals...smiles...

~

Thus, I will be taking yet another short break from my delightful spot, but

I do have a few wonderfully hearty recipes which I have scheduled to post

during my absense...  

I look forward to visiting each of you on my return, and returning your

kind comments!  

Your visits brighten my day and bring a big smile to my face!

 I love Tane's designs – I think they're both professional and pretty, and that is exactly what I had hoped for...

The Fifth Year Celebratory Giveaway!

 Hello dear friends and a happy Wednesday to you all!  Today is a very special day for me as I look back on five wonderful years of writing on Beautiful Girlhood. 

I thank and praise our gracious Lord Jesus for allowing me to share my journey here and encourage my fellow sisters in Christ to stand up for the truth and embrace their God-given femininity. 

At one point in my blogging journey, not too long ago in fact, I wondered about my blog and if my season posting on it was perhaps ‘done’. 

But the Lord showed me in His loving way that although that season may be ‘done’, a new one has just begun.  He revealed to me that there are young girls out there who need encouragement to take hold of the Lord’s hand when entering their wonderful yet challenging season of beautiful girlhood...

I don’t pretend to have learnt all there is to know about this delicate change from girl to woman, but I pray that Jesus will use me through my blog to reach others and inspire them to seek a closer walk with Him.

One of the loveliest guides for Christian teen and pre-teen girls is the treasure of a book ‘Beautiful Girlhood’, revised by Karen Andreola.  

 

This particular book speaks in a simple yet loving way to young girls on sensitive subjects such as modesty, character, boys, etc and reveals to them how rewarding serving the Lord through their girlhood years and beyond can be. 

This book can also be especially helpful for moms of young ladies and is a wonderful tool to bring mothers and daughters closer together even through the ‘difficult years’.

In a world where girls are so misled during their teen years and where moms are totally at a loss as to how to help and guide their precious daughters through the changes she experiences, this book is a must read for all women.

My own dear mother has six daughters and I am her eldest.  I confess that I was not (...and still am not!) a walk in the park for her.  I gave her plenty of grief and heartache – what dear daughter doesn’t?  But thankfully she stuck by me, prayed for me and now we both are beginning to see the fruits of our labour.

I love my mom dearly and enjoy being with her and I know she loves and enjoys me too.  This is so special and could have been lost had we not been committed to going through everything together.
