Prince of Persia

Sorry I have stopped blogging on the movies I've watched because I've been very busy lately with work and household duties. Some of the fabulous and not-so-fabulous movies we've seen on the big screen include 2010 (I like), Avatar (didn't like it), Sherlock Holmes (nice), The Book of Eli (also nice), Iron Man 2 (mas gusto ko yung 1; I couldn't understand Mickey Rourke when he speaks). So, anyway, today I am writing about the movie Keith and I watched this afternoon - Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time.

Well, at first, I didn't really want to watch it because I thought hindi bagay kay Jake Gyllenhaal ang long hair, c'mon. When I first saw the movie poster, I thought this was a spoof or comedy film and he reminded me so much of Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories, mwahaha! But Keith said maganda toh, 10 out of 10 (daw accdg to Clickthecity, lol). So, I agreed and met him at Galleria, cinema 4.

The verdict: Okay, pwede na, hehehe. It was entertaining and had many twists. But I couldn't stop thinking that Orlando Bloom could be a better Prince Dastan, hehe. Pwede din si Tobey Maguire, Marc Wahlberg, or si Sasha Vujacic of the LA Lakers.. Augh! Kahit na sino wag lang si Jake Gyllenhaal! Pasensha na, hehehe

There are some movies you can watch on DVD like Shutter Island (nice), but Prince of Persia is recommended to be seen on the big screen. Enjoy! :)

Transformers 2 at Trinoma

Our team watched the Transformers on its third day of screening. Hindi naman kame excited, hahaha! We picked the 8pm show at Trinoma, cinema 6. We sure had a blast!

This Transformers had hardcore action. I like the first one better :P

There was something different about Megan Fox in this movie. I think her lips were stung by a bee or something. She had puckered lips the entire film, and it was not flattering at all. How true she's the next Tomb Raider??

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Today is Vday, Valentine's Day. Keith invited me to watch Underworld. Mejo hesitant si ako kse hindi na si Kate Bekinsale ang bida. Kaya lng, the other day I saw the making and I got intrigued, so I said yes. Punta kame Galleria, and shopped muna kse maaga pa kame sa movie. I bought him leather shoes as Vday gift. We dined at Sushiya, my fave Jap fastfood store. Tapos, we watched na at cinema 3.

For Vday, wala mashadong tao sa mall. Ok nga kse I really hate crowded places, hehe. Birthday din ng lola ko today (my dad's mom). Happy Birthday Lola Tina! :)

Maganda the movie.. kahawig naman ni Rhona Mitra si Kate Bekinsale so ok na din :) Sakto din ang story sa Valentine's Day kse forbidden love ito, hahaha. Yes I would recommend it, esp to Underworld fans. :)

Happy Hearts Day everyone! :)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a 2008 American drama film, inspired by the 1921 short story of the same name written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The film was directed by David Fincher, written by Eric Roth and Robin Swicord, and stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

My favorite lines:

You never know what’s coming for you.

Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.

We’re meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?

Will you love me when I get old and wrinkly?... Will you still love me when I get acne, and get scared of what's under my bed?

Along the way you bump into people who make a dent on your life. Some people get struck by lightning. Some are born to sit by a river. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim the English Channel. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people can dance.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

Bedtime Stories

I like this movie coz it has a magical touch to it. As I kid, I enjoy watching fantasy movies. Perfect to watch this on a Sunday afternoon coz light lng ang story. It was funny and had moral lessons to share. Favorite scene ko was the gumball scene :)

I would recommend this to kids and kids at heart. Nice din na date movie :)

The Transporter 3

I have one word to describe this film - Hotness!

I enjoyed this film more than the last James Bond. And to think, we missed the first 30 mins of the movie because we were late. I enjoyed it because for me the story was unique, and the stunts were awesome.

After the movie we went to Texas Roadhouse Grill in El Pueblo. Keith was craving for some San Mig Premium - his current fave. (No actually, his current fave is the Below Zero, but they didnt have it). I went to try their apple crumble (I had pa Starbucks coffee I brought to the movies). Everything was perfect until we talked about work. Work nanaman!? Haaay buti na lang maganda ung movie, hehe.

Quantum of Solace

We watched Quantum of Solace today at Galleria. Well, I didn't like when one scene had back to back scenes with another scene that had no relation to the current scene (what term is that?) - example: Bond chasing enemies alternating shots with a horse race scene. Though some fight scenes have real hardcore mano-mano fighting, that didn't impress me much. Nakaka-hilo. Who punched who. Who shot who. Makikita mo na lang patay na ang kalaban. Duh. Hindi ko rin na-gets kung ano ang katuturan ng story. I mean, the plot wasn't original. I was expecting something new. Plus the Bond girls were not as hot as their predecessors (sorry), sana ako na lng noh! Hahaha... Isa pa, I was waiting the entire time where he would say "Bond.. James Bond", pero wala anohhh. I never understood why Pierce Brosnan was replaced as double o seven. He was perfect IMO. So that goes to show I did not enjoy the movie, but it was a movie date with hubby so ok na rin :)

Tropic Thunder

Carlos was given the go signal to go home tomorrow so Keith and I went to watch a movie for that much needed R&R. We watched Tropic Thunder.

It stars Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr, among others. Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey appears in the fim too. I also saw Jennifer Love Hewitt, John Voight, Toby McGuire and Lance Bass (of N'Sync).

The movie was sooo kulit. Some scenes were so OA talaga.. it was hilarious hehehe. One scene made me laugh so hard i cried. I am so mababaw, hahaha! It's not something I would recommend to the kids though. But it's a fun film and makes you laugh out loud. :D

Body of Lies

Keith and I had another moviedate and this time we watched Body of Lies, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.

The story is nothing new. It revolved around the war on Iraq, and how to stop it. Watch out for Mark Strong. He is really good and his business suits are sooo ganda. Oh, and his name in the film is - Hani. Natatawa tlaga ako when Leonardo calls him /Hunny/ hehehe! The movie was okay, but I have to say I liked Leonardo DiCaprio better in the 2006 film, The Departed.

Instead of our usual movie snack na Burger King, I got us Chef d Angelo one whole pizza, KFC fries and Nestea Iced tea. It made the movie experience much more enjoyable! Til next time! :)

Eagle Eye

Keith invited me to watch Eagle Eye, and I immediately said yes. We watched the last full show at Galleria. It stars Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson and Billy Bob Thornton. I loved it because the bida has a twin, hihi.

Aside from that, the movie was action-packed. It lasted two hours and I didnt get bored for 1 minute. Kainis lang sometimes coz they seem so helpless noh but shempre ganun talaga sabi ni Direk, hehe. I couldn't count all the cool hot cars they blew up, waaah sana akin na lng! Two thumbs up for this. I'll watch it again if I have free time. :)

Righteous Kill

Have you seen "Righteous Kill"? my mom asked yesterday. 'Ha! Showing na ba?!" It's the De Niro-Pacino film I've been waiting to see. Keith is a big mafia fan and he loves Al Pacino. So I thought if I'd invite him to see this movie, he'd be happy. :)

My parents love to watch movies and I think they've seen every single movie to date. But ask my dad for the reviews coz my mom is a little weird when it comes to giving reviews hahaha! Imagine, she hated Underworld?!

So I was a little nervous when she said she enjoyed "Righteous Kill", hehehe. Nevertheless, I asked Keith to watch it with me today.

photo taken from MSN Movies.

Either the movie was poorly advertised or the people had no money - we were only 10 people inside Galleria Cinema 1 - on a pay day and after office hours. Come on!!

Well, let me say (without giving out spoilers) that the film was OK. I mean, it didnt raise a lot of emotions. I was just practically listening the entire time. Oh, another thing, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino looks sooo old in this film, I can barely recognize them in some scenes. So again, the film was OK, and that's it. Hehe. :)

The Dark Knight

Today, we watched The Dark Knight at The Podium. It stars Christian Bale as Batman, Heath Ledger as The Joker and Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face. It's a very cool, entertaining movie, with great special effects. My favorite scene was the one with the two boats :) It's my best movie so far! :)

Hancock

I didn't enjoy I Am Legend so I swore to myself I would never watch another Will Smith movie. It turns out the only reason why I hated the film is because it was a scary movie and I hate scary movies. Period. :) I was hesitant to watch Hancock because I had the impression that it was a corny hero movie made spectacular by the special effects and presence of Will Smith. And I didn't want to pay P300 just to watch it.

Well, I enjoyed it! :) And my fave scene was when he came in flying wearing the black costume to rescue everyone in the bank. Good job! Hehehe :) I enjoyed Hancock more than Wanted, so thank you hunny, for convincing me to watch this great movie, mwah! :)

Wanted

We watched Wanted today and it was a fast-paced, action-packed, very entertaining film, starring my fave movie star Angelina Jolie. I'd say my favorite scene was the MRT scene or the LRT scene or whatever they call it, hehe.. the one where they would jump on the train and bend backwards so they wont hit the bridge. Angelina lies gracefully on her back, and may I say her make-up in the movie is perfect, her hair is always perfect. Hmp. Hehehe. Oh, and I liked the twist at the end.

I was kinda depressed after the movie hahaha coz I can totally relate to the lead guy Wesley (James McAvoy). Keith would tell me, "Nag-m-midlife crisis ka na ba? Ang aga pa ah.. 4 months early pa" Bwahaha coz im turning 30 on November. Salbahe. :P

Kung Fu Panda

I love Kung Fu Panda! We watched it about two weeks ago and I super enjoyed the film! :) It was entertaining, hilarious and had inspirational lessons to share. What's so funny is that Po's father is not even a panda hehehe Mr Ping is a goose. :P My favorite lines below:

"Yesterday is History.. Tomorrow is a Mystery.. Today is a Gift, that's why its called a Present!"

"To make something special, you just have to think it is special."

"There is no secret ingredient."

"We all have our place in the world."

The cast was star-studded with my fave comic actor, Jack Black in the lead role. Other actors in the film were Dustin Hoffman (Shifu), Jackie Chan (Monkey), Lucy Liu (Viper)and Angelina Jolie (Master Tigress). I love it! :)

I Am Legend

On my way home after work, I passed by Scout Esguerra. The place was deserted. There were no people, no cars, no dogs. The stores were closed. Everybody's on holiday. I felt like the only person in the world. It was a strange feeling I tell you.. it reminded me of I Am Legend. Hahaha!

For those fanatics of the film, you may want to see the Original ending of the movie. Click here.

Upon reaching Edsa, I made a quick stop at the Shrine. My my my, it was full of people. As in jam-packed! I left immediately.. I missed the twins!
