Happy 2nd Birthday Vito and Carlos!

It's the twins 2nd birthday and they woke up to their favorite things - balloons, CARS activity books, and breakfast delivery from Jollibee, hehe. They love Jollibee mascot and they call him Bobby. They also received a Red Ribbon cake from my parents.

We planned to make the most out of this day as a family, coz we rarely get to do that with our tight schedules. So, after taking their siesta, we left the house at 3PM and picked-up their Lightning Mcqueen cakes from Shoppersville in Katipunan.

Then, we went to Mega Plaza in Ortigas for their first dental check-up. I know, they should have taken this a long time ago, but its difficult to take the twins to the barber without putting up a fight, what more the dentist? Our dental appointment was at 4pm, and we were late. While we were walking through the corridors, the twins were already crying, and when I opened the clinic door, they were screaming. OMG! I had no other choice but to retreat. I told the secretary - sorry I have to cancel, they might get traumatized, next time na lang ha, hehe. So we went down and as soon as the elevator opened to the lobby, we heard the twins laugh in between sobs. As in sigh of relief, bwahaha. tsk tsk tsk.

We went to Galleria and had snacks in Cerealicious. I ordered robopop (cornflakes, banana, nestle pops and strawberry syrup), and we ordered chocolate oatmeal for the twins. They liked my food better, so we swapped.. sayang masarap pa naman, hahaha.

At this point, my in-laws arrived and we went to the department store because their lola wanted to buy them new clothes. She got them jackets and t-shirt/short sets from Mickey Mouse, another one of their favorites.

Then, we went to Tom's World at the 3rd floor for some vroom vroom action. We always go to this area because not so many kids play at this side of the mall. The twins love the yellow and red cars, and they always ride these whenever we are in Galleria. Today, they tried the mini-carousel, boat, drums and throwed hoops at the basketball shooting arcade. I was so proud when Carlos was able to shoot one ball, ring-less, hahaha.

After that one hour of playing, we went to Edsa Shrine to offer a prayer of thanks. Then, we headed to Congo Grille in El Pueblo Real de Manila for our family dinner.

The twins with their uncle Gelo, 3 years old.

Congo Grille was our first choice for the birthday dinner because of their location and affordability. We rented out the function room, which can accommodate 50 pax. We were only about 20 people, so we had a lot of space. Food was yummy, service was the best. Our over-all experience with them was good. We were happy to choose Congo Grille. At 9:30pm, we decided to call it a night.

Happy Birthday Kuya Vito! :)

Happy Birthday Carlos! :)

Welcome to the terrible twos, hehe.

Boracay ~ Day 1

I wasn't able to sleep, I woke up 4am and ate breakfast. No, I was not excited! Hehehe. Since our last vacation two years ago (honeymoon in Pangloa), Keith and I have been busy with work, the twins and managing the household, so this Boracay trip is really something to be excited about. We left the twins and the yayas with my in-laws, to make sure we get that much needed R and R. Oh, did I mention it's Keith's birthday today? :)

At 6am, we left for the airport. We got to PAL terminal 2 after 30 minutes. We checked-in our baggages and went inside the terminal. Our flight was 8:30am. We bought some coffee at The Tinder Box, and waited- in anticipation, LOL.

Finally, we boarded the plane but waited atleast 15 minutes on the runway, to give way for the other planes. Weather was perfect and you could clearly see the islands below. I had biscuit and tea for snacks. Overall the flight was smooth and touchdown was perfect.

We reached Kalibo at around 10am. We boarded a bus serviced by Southwest Tours. The bus was new and we sat comfortably, looking at the sceneries outside. We reached Caticlan at around 12nn. We boarded an outrigger boat headed for Cagban Port in Boracay island. From there, a service van took us to our hotel. We checked in at Grand Boracay Resort, received our welcome drinks and went to Room 104.

Grand Boracay Resort is located at station 2, and one of their gates lead you to D'Mall, making White Beach very accessible. Since it is non-beachfront, we had the privacy that we wanted. The place was also very peaceful and quiet. Staff were accommodating and hospitable. Just perfect!

So after securing our things, we went to Gasthof (station 2) for lunch. We had baby back ribs, calamari and rice. We were careful not to order tap water bcoz of the water problem in Boracay, so we asked for Sprite and bottled water. Lunch was yum yum yum!

We strolled along White Beach and enjoyed the spectacular view of the ocean. I asked Keith if he wanted to go to the Dead Forest (station 3) to take some pictures. He said "ok, lets give it a try". Since we didnt know where it was, we decided to take a tricycle. When I told the driver where we were headed, he didnt know the place. He hollered to his driver-mate who said "ahhh Bella Flores! sa station 1!". Teka, artista yun diba, hehehe. So we scrapped that idea and went back to the hotel.

At 4pm, we took a stroll along White Beach. The sun was up and it was really really hot! We took a dip at station 3, Angol area, where there were only a handful of people swimming.

At 5pm, we went to the Red Pirates Pub (station 3) for our scheduled 1-hour sunset cruise. There, we met Raymond and Arthur, the coolest paraw sailers in Boracay, who sailed us through White Beach, passing by Manny Pacquio's mansion, Shangrila and Puka Beach. We exceeded 1 hour, but they only charged us P500. I really recommend the Red Pirates for island hopping or sunset cruise. Don't forget to bring some beer, it will make your paraw sailing much more enjoyable! For inquiries, contact Jen at 09152030790.

It was already 6:30pm. We went back to the hotel to change and prepare for dinner. I decided to bring Keith to station 1 for some seafood buffet. On our way there, we passed by Willy's Rock and posed for pictures at the Grotto. We had dinner at Seawind, where their buffet offered oysters, grilled seafood like prawns, tuna, blue marlin, squid. They also have a pasta and dessert bar. OMG, I ate a lot!

Happy Birthday Hunny! :)

On the way back, we stopped by Bamboo Lounge, who had two fire dancers performing for the crowd. We also took a pic by a sandcastle, which I think is a required souvenir shot if you are going to Boracay, hehehe.

After that, we called it a night. :)

Happy 80th Birthday Lola Nena!

My lola celebrated her 80th birthday today and my mom and my cousins gave her a surprise party at the Bethel Hotel in Dumaguete.

We really wanted to be there but Keith and I had work, and I also had a teambuilding to attend to. Anyway, the party was a success and my lola loved everything, esp the AVP presentation. There were also special (impromptu) dance numbers from each family. We watched the videos and they were hilarious, hehe!

My lola in blue, with her amigas.

Here is Lola Nena and Lolo Pancho. Aren't they cute? :)

My lola is a strong woman, with a very big heart. She is thoughtful, sweet, funny and very loving. She is very special to us, and we pray that God will continue to bless her with good health so she has more years to play with her great grand children. Happy Birthday Lola Nena! We love you very much! :)

Three decades old

It's my 30th birthday and as a "gift", I was off-limits sa kitchen and was just locked inside the bedroom to rest, sleep and watch TV. By 3pm, I had headache from oversleeping, hahaha! I decided to go to the chapel. I offered a prayer of thanks and asked for continued love and happiness, harmonious family relationship, good health and success in all my endeavors. :)

Keith, together with the maid, cooked spaghetti with meatballs, chicken and pork barbeque. I also had choco mousse cake and strawberry ice cream. Ahhh, the life! Hehe.

30 years old? Hindi naman halata diba? Hehehe.

We had simple celebration with my family. My parents and brothers came to the apartment for dinner. All my good friends remembered and greeted me, esp Yas who called from Singapore. I really enjoyed this day and I owe everything to Keith for preparing everything and cooking dinner. Thanks Hunny! Looking forward to Tagaytay Highlands this weekend. :)

Happy Birthday Lolo Papa Dong!

It's my dad's 64th birthday today and it coincided with RJ and Peen's wedding. Keith and I will miss his birthday dinner so I decided to cook him lunch instead. What happened was I was so sleepy and tired that he went na to our apartment this morning to play with the twins. I gave him our present and hitched with him back to their house. I cooked beef w/ mushroom. He was redecorating the garden, and it looks spectacular now.

Happy Birthday Papa Dong! Here's to continued good health, blessings and many many more birthdays to come! We love you very much! :)

Happy 7th birthday Ron

We attended my cousin slash inaanak's 7th birthday party at Village East Clubhouse. It was well-attended and all of our relatives in that side were present.

Ang daming food, as in tignan mo lng, mabubusog ka na hahaha! I ate cheese sticks, chicken lollipop and the home-made choco cake that my tita bakes - ay grabeh super sarap neto. I also had chicken salad, Charlie's pritson and a slice of pizza from Pizza Hut. Aside from the catered rice, pasta and the different kinds of ulam, there were also foodcarts like Buy The Bucket, cotton candy and sorbetero. There was also a seafood bar/grille that serves super sarap sugpo and tuna. Hindi ko na nga na-try but Keith feasted on them. Free flowing din ang softdrinks and beer.

Their program hosts were two clowns and one of them did a ventri act - si Kermit the Frog yung puppet nya. Pure Tagalog the spiel. Dumating din si Mickey Mau mascot - pinoy version ni Mickey Mouse hehe. Dami kids and dami din prizes, toys and ahem yung lootbag nila looks very familiar hahaha same ng lootbag from the twins birthday :P Of course, tuwang tuwa nanaman our yayas kase they were able to bring home lootbags and balloons.

Carlos and Moi

Vito and Moi, playing with a diecast blue car we got from the party.

Keith with Carlos getting curious with the SanMig Light. Oh-ow.

The kids were invited to swim at the pool after the program, but we decided to stay na lang inside the clubhouse and play with my younger cousins. It's always fun to have family gatherings. Happy birthday Ron! May the good Lord continue to shower you with His blessings. Wishing you more birthdays to come! :D

Happy Birthday Ires!

Today, we celebrated Ires' 31st birthday at my parents house. It was a potluck celebration. I cooked beef with broccoli, chopseuy and rice. Chelley brought andoks chicken, Peen brought lumpia and lechon, Gyp brought special bibingka and Ires brought cake. Dong brought her laptop with Kabuki photos. Missing today's event are Polly and Malou. Sayang coz all-girls pa naman kame. Once in a blue moon lang mangyari na absent lahat ang boys hehehe.

To Ires, we wish you good health, a happy family life and success in your chosen career. May God continue to bless you and may you have many many more birthdays to come! We love you very much! :)

clockwise: peen, gyp, ires and sean (yup she's breastfeeding him here), chelley, dong and moi

After lunch, we watched The Fast and The Furious on cable while burning the pics on CD. Dong went crazy over Vin Diesel. The other girls were super kilig din. Hey did yah know he has a twin brother?! Anyway, she got all excited when I told her there's a new Fast and The Furious movie, all-original cast, dubbed as "The Fast And The Furious 4: London Pursuit". Tapos she asked us - napanuod nyo na ba ang Mac Spain. HAHAHAHA! She meant, Max Payne. Nabulol ang lola nyo. Super funny talaga, haaay peen, walang ganyan sa States! :D

Twins 1st birthday party

It's the twins' 1st birthday party! We had simple celebration today with 150 of our closest friends and relatives. We had good weather and most kids came in their Superhero costumes. :)

VENUE: Shakey's Galleria - 6320549

IMG_9173b

We booked Shakey's because they are accessible, affordable and accommodating. They waived the electricity charge and there's no corkage fee if I bring my own cake, clown and decors. It's also optional to get their party package. So basically, we just got food from them. The use of the soundsystem is free, and it was loud and clear in the entire restaurant.

+ I asked for a tarp standee for the welcome banner and an additional high chair since twins (they only have one), and they were able to provide at no extra cost.

+ The party manager asked if I have a stick for my balloon burst, but I forgot to make one. She took the initiative and made one for me using a stick and a pushpin. Now, that's what I call excellent customer service :)

+ Their people were helpful and they were ok in dealing with us. Walang nagsungit or whatever. They also helped us pack the leftovers and gifts and hinatid rin nila sa car.

+/- Our party was scheduled at 3PM, but they allowed us to come in at 11am so we can inflate the balloons for the DIY table centerpieces. By 2pm, we were allowed to set-up the place. The crew helped us in attaching the balloons, piñata and balloon burst sa ceiling. Akala ko by 2pm i-lock na nila ung venue so we can decorate but they were still entertaining customers. By 3pm we had the place exclusive. The programme didn't start on time coz we waited for the other guests. It started around 4pm na and super hungry na ang guests. So after the first game, pina-serve na yung food. Since late na kme nag start, late na rin kame natapos and I had to cancel three games so we can finish by 6pm. We were charged P500 for the 1-hour extention.

+/- The party was well-attended and Shakey's was jam-packed! Capacity nila is 150. We invited 100 people but madami ang dumating. So like the Baptism, hindi kinaya ang aircon, so yung iba (like me), nainitan. Also, one of the aircons was dripping water and so the crew had to mop it several times. Good thing sa likod yung aircon so hindi mashadong sagabal.

+/- In terms of serving the food, ok naman ang pag distribute and very quick naman sila mag respond to additional food orders. Kaya lang sana sinabay na rin sa food distribution ang tissue because we served spaghetti and shempre messy yun kainin esp for kids. They served the tissue after pa kumaen ang mga tao.

+/- Their birthday banner was big which I liked but the names "Vito and Carlos" were lightly printed as in outline lng ng letters, so hindi sha readable. Kung alam ko lng na ganun ang lettering nag cutout na sana ako ng art paper, but too late nung nakita ko, nag start na ang party.

- Hindi ko mashadong like yung table cloth na ginamit kase hindi sila same size.

CLOWN: Tonio's Clowns - 09266245558

+/- Madaling kausap, but the programme I made was not followed kase lack of time and cguro tinantya nya what is better sa crowd. Flexible din sila sa mga impromptu changes like instead of game 3, food distribution na. Maaga din sila sa venue so we were able to discuss pa last-minute changes, like ung surprise candle-blowing for my brother in law, my sister in law and uncle who were also celebrating their birthdays.

CAKE: Shoppersville Bakeshoppe - 4261246

DSC02359

+/- The cake decoration was cute. The cupcakes were cute too. The only problem was the icing melted coz I brought them early sa venue. Wala mashadong PR ang people in Shoppers, but they are professional and very efficient.

DV FINDS - Superman/Batman costumes, Lootbags, Toys and Stickers for the lootbags and game prizes, Nametags, Party hats, Balloons, mother balloon and handpump.

DIY PROJECTS: Invitations with map & envelope, Guestbook, Table Centerpieces, Coloring sheets, two Cupcake stands, Thank you cards, Piñata, Balloon Burst, Arranging of toys & candies inside the Lootbags and Wrapping of Game Prizes - Tlagang DIY to the max! Every night for two weeks, I would sit down to do the party preps. Everything paid off and I am so happy my piñata was a success! Hahaha! :) Thank you God for holding it in place! ;)

Of course I had help from my Superfriends and I would like to mention them here -

CHANDELIER BALLOONS AND ENTRANCE ARCH: Party Boosters by Jacque Tan

++ I loved the entrance arch and chandelier balloons, as in tinalbugan ang mga DIY balloons ko! Shakey's is bare so the entrance arch was perfect kase pagpasok pa lang ng guests, may party-feel na agad. Pinagkaguluhan ng mga kids ang chandelier balloons when the waiters were removing them from the ceiling. Kahit ung mga yaya ko kumuha rin to bring home to their families. It made my party look sossy because of the imported shiny balloons. Jacque is very professional and a perfectionist. She followed the party motif of blue & green. I was impressed with her tools. Complete sha sa materials needed for the balloon decors. She also came in early to make sure everything will be set-up correctly. Most important of all, she is mabaet and madaling kausap. For those who are interested, you may reach her at 09178985227.

TARP PRINTING for the Welcome Banner & Piñata: Pheng Aquino

+ Pheng helped me sa tarp printing. I felt she understood my needs as a DIY mom and gave me a good deal so instead na small tarp lang ang ipagawa ko, I got a long tarp which is perfect as welcome banner. For my piñata, nakuha ko rin ung gusto kong design when I got the tarp material. Kahit sa text and email lang kme nag usap, I got the goods in good condition.

Special thanks to my Lola Nena and Uncle Alex who came all the way from Dumaguete just to attend the party. And to my Ninong Roy who came from the US. And to my sister in law Mau and her family who came from Bulacan. Also, special thanks to my brother Bogs who did all my layout requirements, and to Justin who skipped his classes just to attend the party hahaha! To our parents, for all the help. And of course, to my Kabuki sisters who assisted me in decorating the place and during the party, Thanks everyone! :)
