San Beda 2008 NCAA Champions

Congratulations to the San Beda Red Lions for winning their 3rd straight championship, beating JRU, 85-69.

Eto lang ang inaabangan ko - Half-time performance of the Little Indians:

This was taken 2006, where they won. We failed to watch last year coz I just gave birth. We failed to watch Game 3 this year coz we were at home taking care of sick Vito. Keith and I were silently cheering (panu yun?) coz Vito was asleep, hahaha!

Twins at the hospital

Of all the times na magkakasakit ang kambal, ngayon pa.

Carlos is confined in Medical City (2nd time this year) for Infectious Diarrhea (blood in his pupu + fever). Vito naman is sick with very high fever (40 degrees) usually at night, but was not confined.

And so anupaba, we missed the baptism of Moxi. They are joking that the twins daw couldn't accept that they are no longer the only apos that's why they got sick (sabay pa) so all the attention will be given to them (roll eyes).

For Carlos: (weight: 12 kilos)
Cotrimoxazole (antibiotic) 400mg - 3ml every 12 hours
Pedialyte
His stool culture was negative. Urinalysis was normal. Cause of lbm with blood + fever is Gastroentoritis, either from contaminated food or water.

For Vito: (weight: 10.5 kilos)
Tempra Drops - 1.2ml every 4 hours
Pedialyte

If 39 degrees and up - Wash cloth in ice cold water and put on forehead and armpits. Leave it there for a while. This will bring down the body temperature. If he is having chills, wrap him temporarily in a blanket. If no chills, do not wrap to release the heat from body. Watch out for blood in the nose or gums coz this means the body is holding too much heat. Dengue was ruled out coz his CBC was normal. Cause of high fever is viral infection.

San Beda - JRU Game 2

We got Upper Box B tickets and the game was set at 4PM. I got off from work at 3PM and hurriedly went to Araneta to meet Keith and the rest of the guys. I asked him to bring me a red or white shirt coz I totally forgot that Game 2 was today.

L-R: Dianne, Moi, Botch

I was screaming my lungs out during the 1st half cheering for San Beda tapos I noticed na - teka, baket walang Balloon Drop? So dun pa lang I knew there was gonna be a Game 3. Kaya when 3rd quarter came, hindi na ako nag cheer noh.

My prediction was correct and we lost 62-58 and to think 1/8 lang ng Araneta ang JRU crowd. But they were full of energy and talagang to the highest level ang pag cheer. Samantala ang mga Bedista mag cheer lng pag nka-shoot, kaasar, tapos nka-upo lang the rest of the time parang umaattend ng misa, anubahhh.

Propagating Friendship Award

I love the blogs of these people and I'm glad to pass this award onto them! All they need to do is to leave the following message on their post when they pass the award on to their chosen eight bloggers.

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let's try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this.

Thanks Janis for this award. :)

Now, I am passing this award to Divine, Sheryll, Jacque, Con, Jammy , Pheng and Karen.

Twins first children's party

We were invited to attend a 1st birthday party for the son of Keith's officemate. It was held at Windmills & Rainforest in Timog, and the theme was Pirates of the Caribbean.

The party was hosted by Butch Gonzales, who did balloon twisting, games and a ventri act. Pirates of the Caribbean items were everywhere - entrance and stage standees, backdrop, balloons, storybook, table napkins, etc.

With all the beautiful and colorful props, what the twins loved the most were the kiddie chairs! I know. Haha!

There were two tatoo artists at the party and many kids lined up to get their tatoos. When it was our turn na, Vito was irritable and so - ako na lang, hehe. I tried the glimmer tatoo and had a purple flower done on my left cheek, it was crazy!

Colorstrology

Got tagged by Joanne.. thanks sis, I enjoyed this! :)

November

Color: Thistle Down
Character: Exciting, Prophetic, Dynamic
Profile: You are someone who can light up a room and "wow" is one of the best ways to describe you. Your energy is felt easily and can be used to excite and stimulate others. You have a rich inner world that not everyons sees, but it is your public persona to which people most often relate. Your personal color helps you intergrate your inner and outer worlds. Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with the color Thistle Down removes the illusion of separateness and guides you toward receiving gifts and benefits from others.

Havs Top Logo

I visited All Flip Flops today (2nd flr Trinoma - #9013978) and got myself a new pair of Havaianas. Top Logo Black/Red. It is sooo me. Eyelavit! :)

I left work at 3PM with my new Havs. The sun was scorchin' I can hear Bob Marley singin' in the background. Am I in Brazil?! Jamaica?! I had to think happy thoughts because the sun was freakin' hot!

Suddenly, I wished I was really in a beach.

Hmmm, Caramoan would be nice! :) Photo borrowed from here.

Happy Birthday, Malou!

She is the sweetest, super thoughtful, most caring person I know. She is fashionable, chic, creative and resourceful. I admire her toughness and versatility. She's one great SAHM.

Happy Birthday to my Kabuki sister, Malou :) Wishing you good health, happiness and more projects to come.. We love you very much! :)

Righteous Kill

Have you seen "Righteous Kill"? my mom asked yesterday. 'Ha! Showing na ba?!" It's the De Niro-Pacino film I've been waiting to see. Keith is a big mafia fan and he loves Al Pacino. So I thought if I'd invite him to see this movie, he'd be happy. :)

My parents love to watch movies and I think they've seen every single movie to date. But ask my dad for the reviews coz my mom is a little weird when it comes to giving reviews hahaha! Imagine, she hated Underworld?!

So I was a little nervous when she said she enjoyed "Righteous Kill", hehehe. Nevertheless, I asked Keith to watch it with me today.

photo taken from MSN Movies.

Either the movie was poorly advertised or the people had no money - we were only 10 people inside Galleria Cinema 1 - on a pay day and after office hours. Come on!!

Well, let me say (without giving out spoilers) that the film was OK. I mean, it didnt raise a lot of emotions. I was just practically listening the entire time. Oh, another thing, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino looks sooo old in this film, I can barely recognize them in some scenes. So again, the film was OK, and that's it. Hehe. :)

Spreading the Christmas Spirit

Got tagged by Tin. Here’s something nice to go around to spread the spirit of Christmas as early as now. Starts here. It’s so simple. Copy the photo below then write your blog and your wish this Christmas 2008. Your wish has to be something PRICELESS and SELF- LESS… something that money can’t buy… something that another person will treasure dearly.

1. Bits and Pieces by Jan: I wish Gino and I will be able to convince friends to help us sponsor a simple Christmas party for the children of White Cross Children’s Home in San Juan.

2. The Wifey Diaries by Jannesse : My birthday falls on the 22nd of December. I have always wished to spend it with orphaned or abandoned kids. I’d be super happy to spend my birthday with them. That way, they get early Christmas presents from me. Oh, and can I wish for a baby, too? Please?

3. The Versoza Inc. by Con: I’d like to have a simple Christmas party for all the children of our employees. Times were hard on our company this 2007, but still, the Christmas Spirit should not be overpowered by it. Christmas is about family. So our Christmas party should not be for employees only, but for their families as well. Also, I wish our clan would make it a tradition to have a Christmas gift giving project. My Tita Doi started it last year with the Antipolo church children. I am looking forward to this year .

4. Mommy On Top: I wish I could help a couple of kids (both are related to my kids’ nannies) finish their education so they can, in turn, help their family earn a living. I could try and help them find a job, but without finishing their studies, they can only go too far. With a diploma or at least some certificate of formal education, they could do so much and reach farther. I hope my efforts in hooking them up with this certain NGO will come out with favorable results.

5. Coffeenchoclate : We hope to sustain an extended help for a few elders and be able to increase aid to another few elders before the year ends.

6) My Yoga Mat by Christine: I wish that we would have a great Christmas in our new home (we'll be moving to Tarlac before the year ends). I also hope for my son to have a great birthday (this december also). And that I could be able to provide and help my husband ( I need a job!)

7). A Multiple's Choice by Jov: First of all, I wish my entire family good health and continued prosperity :) I also wish I can give out cool presents for my family, something they really want to receive. Second, Keith has been wanting to sponsor a Christmas party for an orphanage. I hope I can organize one in his name as a surprise gift for him. Third, I cant wait to have our annual family pic with Lori, my new pamangkin :)

Cough and Tigdas-hangin

The boys are still sick with terrible cough (nahawa na pati ako) and this morning Carlos showed little rashes on his face and neck. We got alarmed when the rashes started to spread on his back. We had a scheduled check-up today so it's a good thing that their doctor could see him.

As the doctors explained, the medical term for Carlos' rashes is roseola infantum or rose rash of infants. It is also called Roseolovirus or baby measles. It comes out after 2-3 days of fever. As per their pedia, when the rashes come out, then "pagaling na ang bata".

Since it is a virus, it can be contagious and the doctors told us that Vito may be infected eventually. No cause for alarm as this is not the real measles, which can be easily identified by three Cs - cough, cold (runny nose) and conjunctivitis (red eye).

For their cough, they were prescribed the ff:

For Vito:
Ventolin Nebulization - every 8 hrs for 4 days (5am-1pm-9pm)
Prolix 2.5ml - twice a day

For Carlos:
Ventolin Nebulization - every 8 hrs for 4 days (6am-2pm-10pm)
Prolix 3ml - twice a day

I asked about oregano extract as a cure for cough. Other parents claim it is the best medicine for cough, plus it is a natural medicine. Well, Dr. R Santos wasn't really sold on the idea, but mentioned that the only approved herbal medicine for cough by BFAD is lagundi.

The -ber months are here!

It's the first day of September and that means, Christmas is just around the corner. This morning, I heard my first Christmas song for this year at Umagang Kay Ganda - Hark The Herald Angels Sing!

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
