♥ Vintage Paper Ornament ♥

Hello! Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away? I'm stopping in today with a quick and easy place card setting you can make to dress up your holiday table. It is a little paper ornament that only takes minutes to make.

I used some beautiful collages from the iralamija shop on Etsy to make it. I used 4 different collages to make this and the total cost would be $17.35 for all 4. And since these can be printed over and over again, you can make endless "paper ornaments" for under $20! To get started, I re-sized the Christmas Strips Collage simply using Microsoft Word (you can use any photo editing software) so that the strips were longer and skinnier than they would normally print out.

Then using a hot glue gun, make a circle out of one of the strips.

Then adhere another strip around the first circle.

Continue adding "circles until you make a ball. You can add as many as desired. I just used the 6 strips that were included. Adhere a "base" to the bottom of your ornament using a punched or die cut scallop circle.

Then decorate as you wish! I used the Christmas Story Collage (which a name can easily be added to any of these images using either a printer and a marker or pen), Vintage Christmas Tickets and the Christmas Expressions Collage.

I finished it off with some hand dyed seam binding and pearls. Before completely closing up the ornament, you could also put a little battery operated tea light into each one for a wonderful effect on your holiday table! They would make just some simple decorations on any table or you can even leave off the "base" and hang them on the tree.

I hope you stop by the iralamija shop for some beautiful vintage and shabby chic designs!

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!

♥ A Tim Holtz Christmas Tag ♥

♥♥♥ 2nd post of the day! For my Shimmerz DT Post, please scroll down! There's a Giveaway! ;) ♥♥♥

Happy Wednesday! That means it's time for a brand new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog! This week's challenge...TAG IT! Simply make a tag or use a tag on your creation!
This week the Simon Says DT are showcasing products by none other than the fabulous Tim Holtz!! Love me some Tim!! ;) I am using several different TH products for my tag. I started by spraying my tag with some Bundled Sage Distress Spray Stain. When it was dry, I adhered some pretty music paper to the bottom from the Yuletide 8x8 Paper Stash.

I then stamped a piece of white cardstock with the Christmas Dance Wooden Stamp by TH. Love this stamp!! I then "aged" the stamped cardstock using the Mini Round Blending Tool and some Walnut Stain Ink. I then added a light layer of Multi Medium Matte Glue over the image and then sprinkled on some Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter.

I also added a Jingle Brad and a Prima Victorian Christmas Flower.

And don't forget, the super sweet and generous Heidi will give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!

Do you use Instagram ?  If so, please add #ssswchallenge to your challenge entry uploads so we can see them on there too.

Hope you have a super fabulous day!

♥ Mini Shabby Christmas Lanterns ♥

Hello there! I hope you had a lovely weekend! Stopping in today with some fun little lanterns that are so quick and easy to make! You can also put a small gift, chocolates or a little bag of nuts in the lantern as well since it is lit with a battery operated tealight. They would also make really sweet Place card settings for your holiday table or even a December Wedding! But since the actual boxes I am using are not Christmas themed, they can be used at any time of the year! How sweet would these look around your Holiday table or at a wedding reception, all lit up on the tables! :) And they literally take minutes to make!

The template to make the diamond style boxes are from the iralamija shop on Etsy. Just print out the Boxes No. 1 Collage and cut them out. There are 5 different sweet designs in the collage. This is how 1 of the boxes looks when printed.

Punch or die cut a circle in the center of the box, slightly smaller then the diameter of your tealight. This will leave an opening at the bottom of the lantern, so you can easily turn on and off the tealight without having to open the box.

Next, using any shape die or punch you like, add little "windows" on each panel of the box so that the tealight will show through. You can even add a piece of acetate or vellum over each window. Just adhere to the inside portion of the box.

Next, adhere the tealight to the inside of the box using hot glue, making sure the little switch on the bottom shows through the hole.

Lastly, decorate as desired. You can also put a little gift, chocolates, etc inside and add names to the tags to act as place card settings.

They also make cute little decorations for a mantle or table too!

I also used the Christmas Joy Collage and Christmas Expressions Collage from the iralamija shop as well to make these.

I hope you have a sweet day!

♥ Dear Santa ♥

Woo-hoo! It's Fri-Yay! What are your plans for the weekend? Me. I have none. And that's a good thing! Just going to spend time with my kids and hubby, go to visit my mom and do some crafting! :)

This is a card I made with some sweet collages from the iralamija shop. Love that Santa image! It is from the Christmas Story Collage. There are 8 different, wonderful images in all.

I also used some papers from the Rudolph Backgrounds Collage and the sweet sentiments are from the Christmas Expressions Collage.

Using some Multi Medium Matte Adhesive from Ranger, I added some chunky glitter all around the edges of the papers and sentiments for an "icy" look.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
