And two more makes three!

Yaaay! Two more finishes to add for 2010. This past weekend I finally finished Blessings. I really enjoyed working on this one even if it did take me a little longer than it should have. I was determined that I wouldn't stitch on anything else until I'd finished it.

Once complete, I reached for the next UFO which was the Ink Circles Spotted Owls. I finished it up on Monday night, just in time to show off at my stitching group on Tuesday. Now the hunt is on for my Trilogy Secret Snowdrift. I've found the floss and pattern but have yet to find the actual piece. I remember removing it from its Q snap which I needed for another work. I was concerned that it would get dusty with all the renovations that were taking place and I know that I put it somewhere where it would stay clean. But I can't remember where!!!!! I've looked through drawers, in stitching bags, fabric boxes and the like with no luck at all. I'm sure that it won't surface until my spring cleaning if then. That leaves my M designs ornament for Oceanne next on the list. The floss for this one is missing in action! I can't believe my mind is this bad. At the end of it all, I was too tired to start an extensive search so I did the next best thing. I started another project of course!

Up next is my Little House ornament of the month, Pear Tree. I'm off to a good start on this one now and I'm itching for something a little bigger. Then I remembered my Nantucket Summer Sampler. I'm not working for the next 2 days so perhaps I can get back to spending some time with this one.

The mail brought a pleasant surprise this week. Some stash showed up which was a little delayed in its arrival. The package included Plum Street Samplers Beloved, Val's Stuff Kitty Kalendar January and The Drawn Thread Spot of Spring. These were a treat from me to me. Beloved is based on the Song of Solomon 6:3. My DH has been known to refer to me as his Beloved and we had readings from the Song of Solomon at our wedding. I originally thought of doing this for him as a Valentine gift but at this late date it will either have to wait until next year or I could have it ready for our anniversary this summer.
Being a cat lover I just couldn't resist Kitty Kalendar. I see now that the February kitty is out. I'm wondering if I should do these as smalls or stitch them all on one piece. By the time I get around to stitching them, a year will probably have passed and I'll have the whole collection by then anyways!

Autumn Leaves and Sunflower Seeds by Blue Ribbon Designs was the other arrival which I'd been impatiently waiting for. I love it! The different squares can be finished in so many different ways. The owl and the turkeys are my favourites. As much as I'd love to get started on this one, I'm going to be good and wait until I've got more done on Nantucket.

It looks like I'll have a lot more stitching time this spring. I've been having some post-menopausal issues and as a result it looks like I'm being scheduled for a hysterectomy. It's not an urgent matter therefore there is a wait. I was told most likely late Feb. or early March. When I mentioned that I had a trip planned to Florida in late March, the Dr. decided to wait until after I returned just in case I had any complications while on vacation. That brings us to mid April with a 6 week recuperation. I might even get some finishing done with that much time on my hands!

Thanks to everyone for your recent visits and positive comments on my stitching. I love hearing from all of you.

  1. Your finishes are GORGEOUS! Love them all :)
And I hope your surgery (when it happens) goes well and that you have days filled with stitching, finishing and recovery (guess we gotta hope for that in there too!)

  2. Love all your finishes, Lynn, especially the Ink Circles design. I have a couple in my stash that I want to get to sometime this year.

Seems these health issues are common in those of us of a certain age; several of my friends have had hysterectomies and all glad they did.

  4. I know all too well the feeling of note remembering where things are. Have you ever gone into a room for something and then wondered why you were there? Your stitching looks beautiful, as usual. I love all your new patterns.

  6. Lynn congratulations on your two finishes! You're already out pacing me in the number of finishes for this year! They both look wonderful!

Lots of pretty new stash... I seem to still not be buying much in terms of stash, but that's okay.

Sorry to hear you do have to go through surgery. But on the other hand this is going to force you to stop for a good while, and you won't be forced to go into work either when they're desperate. The time off will be a good thing for you. When you're feeling up to it, let me know and I'll come stitch with you for a day!

  7. Hi Lynn,

    Congratulations on two more
    wonderful finishes. I'm so
    jealous!! Blessings Be Thine
    is a sweet Christmas Quaker
    with lots of my favorite
color, red, in it. And the
holly in it is very pretty.
I'm glad that you changed the
    little stars from white to
    gold because they really do
show up better and match the
    other colors more.

    Ink Circles Spotted Owls has
also turned out well. I had
to click on the picture to get
a closer look at it before I
    could finally see the owls.
    How clever this is.

Oh gosh, I hope that you'll
    find Secret Snowdrift soon.
It would be such a shame to
have it so close to completion
and not find it for a long
    time. I'm forever putting things
in a safe spot and then forget-
ing about them. For me, out of
    sight is out of mind.

I really like this LHN Pear Tree
    ornament. I've seen many other
stitchers working on this one too
and must remember (Ha!) to get it.
I've been bad with stitching and
    book ordering lately, but can't
seem to help myself. And now
    Nashville is coming up!! I'm
    doomed!!!

And speaking of stash, your two
    new charts are wonderful designs.
    Especially the Blue Ribbon Designs
Autumn Leaves. I've had my eye on
    these BRD charts (from Christmas
to the one dedicated to books)
    and keep dithering on ordering
some of them. I guess because I'm
leery of the of the cost and of
    the possible specialty stitches
that might be in them. But they
    are so beautiful....

I had that surgery almost 10 years
ago too Lynn. I expect now it's
less invasive surgery then it was
back then, which is good. Hope
all goes well for you and you'll
have six weeks of blissful stitching during your recovery.

We haven't seen any photos of
    Clarisse lately. She seems to
    have really grown big, judging
from the last picture. Is she
    full grown yet???

    Cheers!!!

  8. Your finishes are great, I love both of them. I hope you will soon find the floss and the project you are looking for. But I see that you have found something to stitch in the meantime, lol.
Autumn Leaves will be a great project.

  10. Sorry, clicked enter before I should have! Best of luck with the surgery... I hope you don't have too much pain or issues to deal with before it happens. Sometimes this being female thing is harder than it looks! ;P

  11. Beautiful projects Lynn! Maybe some of your mojo will head my way ;) Wishing you well on your upcoming surgery and thank you so much for stopping by my blog even though I haven't been active lately, trying to change that!
