Good-bye 2016!

2016 was a rough year.  I wasn't sorry to see it go.  Ready for a new year and new start.
During that week between Christmas and New Year's we took the kids bowling.

Had fun trying out our new game from Karen and Ben: Pie face

On New Year's Eve we met up with Kent, Alicia and family for annual New Year's tradition.  We usually do it on New Year's day but New Year's was on Sunday this year so we did New Year's Eve.   They had somewhere hey had to be later in the day so we met up earlier than usual at McD's for brunch instead of Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch like we usually do.  And then we went to Kaysville Theater and saw Trolls.  It was a pretty fun movie.  I think we adults really appreciated the music.

Later that night we went to my parents for our annual New Year's Eve party.  Having treats and watching a movie and playing games.  Can't remember which movie, probably one for the kids.  We rang in the New Year at midnight.  All our kids stayed up if I remember correctly, even Annalisa.  Like I said earlier we were ready for the New year!

Christmas 2016

Christmas 2016 was interesting to say the least.  The kids and I headed over to my parents' house during the day in order to help with all the Christmas Eve prep.  We were having our traditional homemade pizza and pop for dinner.   Karl got off work about 6 pm.  He met us at my parents' house for dinner but ended up on the phone most of the evening to deal with a crisis at work.  Not fun.  He missed most of our Christmas Eve program.

Apparently I got hardly any pictures too.  Just a crazy night.  We had bought each clean a new fleece blanket that we gave them for Christmas Eve.  Matthew got a Star Wars one, Steven BB8, Summer a Frozen one, and Annalisa a Finding Dory one.  I only have pics of the boys I guess.

And some pics from Christmas morning.

Christmas day was good.  We had lots of snow overnight and it made it so we were unable to get to church.  We were snowed in.  Which was frustrating.  Karl was supposed to lead the ward choir for the Christmas program.  It had been months and months of practicing and he wasn't there to lead it.  I think he was disappointed but he had a good attitude about it.
