Cousins!!

On Father's day my sister Gina and her family came into town.  It was so fun to see them and my kids loved playing with their cousins.  We went to Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate factory.  It was fun, the kids really enjoyed all the free samples.  They gave you a tiny piece of unsweetened chocolate to try-so bitter! and then followed up with a yummy milk chocolate piece.  Also got to try a chocolate caramel and a small taste of their yummy ice cream.  Love the Mindy Mint!  I bought some truffles for each of the kids and one for Karl and me to share (Karl wasn't there, he was working).  Also during her visit we went to dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe and did some shopping.  It was a super fun visit but somehow I did not take a single picture.  If anyone in my family got pics I will have to steal them!  Anyway--best part of summer is visits from FAMILY!!

So this past year (over a year now)  has been really really rough.  We have had a lot of things happen including some health issues, the death of a very dear friend, and many other things.  I have felt like the weight of the world has been on my shoulders.  So one day my sweet hubby brought me these beautiful flowers.  Seriously love him and don't know how I would get through all this without him.

My sister makes these cute skirts and she made two of my nieces skirts out of the same fabric.  Thanks to hand me down boxes we ended up with them at the same time.  One fits Summer and one fits Annalisa.  They wore their dresses at the same time and we had to take pictures!  Aren't they cute in their matching "Aunt Gina skirts"!

End of school

Mother's and Father's Day

I had another wonderful mother's day and got  spoiled by my sweet family.  How blessed I am!  I got breakfast in bed, a beautiful pin that Summer made for me in school, a little wooden sign from Steven that said "If you weren't my mother, I'd choose you as my friend, chocolate from Matthew, and Karl gave me a beautiful picture of a women kneeling in the middle of forget me nots, praying with Christ watching over her.

For Father's day we made Karl breakfast in bed-french toast, his favorite!  The kids also made him some cards and we got him this personalized sign. 

 

This sign is so true!  I sure don't know what we would do without our wonderful husband and father who works so hard for all of us.  We just love him so much.  Hopefully we did a good job of making it a special day for him.
