End of the school year

The last week or so of school was busy.  The boys had field day, Matthew's class went on a field trip to the Discovery Gateway Museum (he also went there on a kindergarten fieldtrip, he's the only one of our kids who has been there), and Steven's class went on a field trip to the Treehouse museum.  We went and got each of the boys' picture taken with their teachers.  We used these in their teacher gifts.
Matthew and his teacher Mrs. Miller.  This was a rough year for him.  He got great grades but I don't think this teacher was a good fit for him.  She was a bit critical and negative.  This is the first time one of our kids had a teacher we struggled with.  It's hard when your kids have a teacher like that.  They are with them all day and just doesn't feel good to send your kids to such an environment.  Oh well, we all made it through the year.  At least it was a chance for Matthew to learn how to deal with a somewhat difficult personality.  Our friends' kid didn't last the year with her.  They didn't up switching him out toward the end of the year.  He had an even harder time than Matthew did.

Steven and his teacher Mrs. Fox.  He had a great year and adored his teacher.  In fact he was not ready at all for the school year to end because he loved his teacher so much.  He kept saying "I am going to miss Mrs. Fox.  I want to go to summer school!"  At the beginning of the year I had emailed her to ask her a question and she responded and in addition to answering my question she also told me how wonderful Steven was and how happy she was to have him in her class.  Steven has been blessed in that both teachers he has had so far have been wonderful.  Hopefully he will have another great one next year!!

And finally the last day of school arrived.  We went later into June this year since we didn't start until after labor day.  I don't like it.  I would rather start earlier and end earlier.

Bring on the summer!!

Little Flower Girl, Princess Party and Harry Potter

Rushing through things a bit here, trying to get caught up.  When Annalisa was born some of Karl's employees gave us a gift and it had lots of things in it and one of those things was this cute little flower outfit.  I took some pictures of her in it and here they are!

The first week of June Summer got invited to the birthday party of a little girl we know from church.  She had so much fun.  It was a princess party and she came home all decked out like a princess. Each of her nails was painted a different color.  She was so proud of them so I took some pictures.

Aren't her nails beautiful!?

Also on that first week of June Steven's class had Harry Potter day.  They made their own Harry Potter costumes and got sorted into houses.  Steven was put in Slytherin.  Here are some pictures in his awesome Harry Potter costume.
That is one cute Harry Potter

Yea, I know Harry Potter was Gryfindor not Slytherin,
