some random pictures

I haven't blogged in awhile, between packing and house hunting I haven't had a lot of time. Here are just a few random pictures I have taken over the last few weeks.

Steven loves hats as you can see here. He is wearing Summer's hat (very manly:)) with Matthew's hat on top. Where is Steven's hat? Who knows but I am sure if he had been able to find it he would be wearing it.

Summer is all girl. She loves purses and bags and jewelary. Here she is with a necklace and two purses. The fun thing is both of these purses were mine when I was little. The light pink purse has a picture of Fieval from American Tale and it used to have a little coin purse with it that was shaped like cheese. Ahhh the memories!

Unfortunately this one turned out blurry. I think her facial expression in this is so cute!

Notice she is also wearing a jacket, she loves jackets for some reason!

Steven building a block tower. It think that is Summer's wild hair in front of the camera!

Steven wanted me to take a picture of his finished block tower.

This is Summer's favorite shirt. She got it as a hand-me-down from one of her cousins. She loves to pick out her own clothes and if this shirt is in the drawer she has to wear it. I think the reason she likes it so much is because it has a silver stripe running through the pink stripes and that makes it sparkly. Like I said she is all girl!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Summer. It shows off her dimples really well.

Matt's 6-yr-old pics

We took Matthew in for his 6 year old pictures on sat and I think they turned out so cute!

One of my favs!

Yes there is a difference between this one and the previous one. It has darker edges.

I got one of these in a 11x13 for an amazing $5!

"Lizards" at DQ

Last night Matthew's school was having a birthday party celebration for Dr. Suess. Matthew was very excited to go. I thought it would be fun with lots of activities for the kids. After all, Dr Suess is all about fun, right? Well when we got there it was a chaotic mess. We couldn't tell where we were supposed to be and what we were supposed to be doing. There was no one to ask and no signs or anything. We got there about 5 min late and apparently had missed all the instructions. It looked like we were supposed to wait in a very long line to pick out a book and then take it somewhere to read to our kids. And they weren't even Dr Suess books! Now I LOVE reading to my kids. It would probably be on my list of top 5 things that I enjoy doing. But come on! I can do that at home and I don't have to wait in a long line for the book. I can just walk to the book shelf. And I am sorry but I think there are so many fun suess-related things they could have planned. At the very least they should have had Suess books! Why even call it Dr Suess night? We really have a hard time because this is how all the PTA activities are, a disaster. We are technically part of the PTA but we have never been informed of meetings or asked to help with anything except the book fair. It is frustrating and all the more reason we need to sell our house-to get Matt in a better school. Anyway sorry about my rant but I was really annoyed because Matt had been so looking forward to it and it was so lame when it could have been fun. But Matt really wanted to stay so we stood in line for about 10 min. and then Matt decided he didn't want to wait anymore so we left.
To try and salvage the night we decided to take the kids to DQ for some blizzards. All the way there both Matthew and Steven kept insisting that they didn't like "lizards". When we got there Matthew saw a picture of a blizzard and decided that he did want one so he could "decorate" it with m&m's and sprinkles. Steven still insisted that he didn't want a "lizard" but wanted to "decorate" his ice cream cone. So we got him a chocolate-dipped cone. Summer insisted on eating the ice cream with two spoons because one can't get into your mouth fast enough! It ended up being a pretty fun night after all!

You have to use two spoons when eating a blizzard

Let me get that for you mom

Argggh-I'm gonna get you daddy!

These next few pictures I took this morning because Summer found the camera and handed it to me and said "cheese!"

Have you ever seen a cheesier smile than this?
