Our Vacation-part 7 (Gettysburg)

On Thursday, we went to Gettysburg. We had talked about going into DC but we weren't able to because I realized the night before that I had left an entire load of laundry in my sister's dryer. So we had to go and pick them up and didn't have time for DC. So we went to Gettysburg instead. We went with Kyle and his daughter but his wife had to work so she couldn't come. We were able to see a movie and the cyclorama (I am positive I totally butchered the spelling on that one) and we also went into the museum. We had a picnic lunch. Believe it or not we only saw the battlefield sites from the road. By the time we had done all the indoor things are kids were done and since Karl and I had both already been there we decided to leave. So we went and drove out to pick up our clothes. When we got back to Kyle's house we had dinner and went to the park.

Part 6-Hershey, PA

On Wednesday, we had to say good-bye to my sister and her family. We had a great time with them and saying good-bye was hard as always. We were going to spend a few days with Karl's brother, Kyle and his family before heading back to Ohio. We met up with them at Hershey, PA. I had never been there before even though I grew up not too far from it. The kids had a lot of fun. At Chocolate World Matthew and Steven got to be factory workers and were able to package their own Hershey kisses. It was free but then of course we had to pay for the kisses. They had a lot of fun with it though.
After that we were all able to go on the free ride to see how they make the chocolate. The kids enjoyed it and they all loved the singing cows. Of course, the highlight for them was the free chocolate at the end.

The kids all loved these singing cows-especially Summer

After that we wandered around for a bit and then left. All the other tours and things were too expensive. We drove down the road with the lamp posts with the kisses on top so our kids could see them. After we got back to Kyle and Kirsten's house we walked to the park. It was a fun day!

Kyle, Matthew, and Steven went kite flying

The two little girls had lots of fun on the playground while the boys played with the kite.
