E is for Enduring

Newlyweds are ready to Seize the Day as the future looks bright!
The huge heart underneath the letter E was stitched with black thread.  I actually used a sewing machine to stitch through the paper.  I was a bit nervous but it was super easy.  I sewed around the heart 3 times purposefully off setting the lines.

My Top TIPS:
1.  Lightly sketch a simple shape with a pencil.  (A good first time sewing project would be sewing a frame around a rectangular photo.)
2. Only sew through a single layer of paper.  Plan your design but don't assemble the layers until after you have added the stitching details.
3. Do not stitch through any double sided tape because the needle will become sticky.
4.  For complete control don't have to use the foot peddle . Use the hand dial to control the speed of the needle so that you can stitch more accurately and have more precise control.
5.  Practice sewing the design to gain confidence.  Use a scrap paper of a similar thickness.  Be sure to check the sewing machine is making a clean stitch to avoid disappointment.

CAS Wonderful Dew Drop Card

I created a super quick CAS card with a single stamp. First, I stamped a simple background with black ink by repeatedly stamping the same image to cover the card base. Then, I let the Dew Drops be the star of the show. The bright translucent Dew Drops make an outstanding contrast against the bold background design.  Take a trip to the Robin's Nest Blog (HERE) to see the complete step by step directions.

Welcome Little One Layout

Check out how I included a little frog sticker on the layout because as a newborn my niece had a frog wub-a-nub pacifier. I even stamped a little cluster of grass.  I used a craft knife to carefully slice along some of the bunting flags on the background paper to create more realistic dimension.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day seemed like the perfect day to feature the theme for "Beginnings" as it is the day to celebrate the birth of Christ.  The large 25 chipboard title was heat embossed.  I was also inspired by the cream background and Christmas theme.  Notice that the striped border is washi tape that has been carefully applied along the edge and folded over to the back side. The thin bracket frame was stamped onto acetate to highlight the photo.  I also added a few red & gold Dew Drops.

Hanging Unicorn Ornament

I am so happy to share my fun way to decorate an acrylic ornament. I found this transparent acrylic unicorn shape in an after Christmas clearance sale. I immediately knew it would look glorious covered in Dew Drops. The best part is that it looks great on the backside too so no matter what direction it is hanging it still looks great.  To see the complete tutorial, visit the Robin's Nest Blog HERE.

I Believe in Santa Layout

I love how even though the page has a lot going on, the photos are still the focus. Using a tan background paper with a subtle snowflake didn't overpower the photos.  The striped candy cane border and matting tied the whole page together. I even added a kinetic element as i turned 2 of the smaller photos into hanging ornaments.  I was inspired by the limited color palette of tan & white, as well as, the ornaments.
