Thrift store bunny repaint using 3 chalk paint techniques

Hello again my dustbunnies.
Link to my latest youtube video:

Easter bunny repaint using chalk paint look 1

Today I have a very eggciting post for you just in time for easter.

One of the best part of thriftshopping for me is to be able to find something "ugly" or unfinished and transform it into something "new". Sometimes I'm happy with the result, sometimes it looks even worse than before, but at least the potential is there.
I love that feeling of a diamond in the rough
that no one else can see.

What is your favorite part about thriftshopping?

I have made a youtube video tutorial where I show three different looks you can achieve using chalk paint.
Which one is your favorite?

Until next time: Keep crafting!

Stylish petbed from an old drawer TUTORIAL

Vintage DIY bed for your pet painted with chalkpaint
Front says "snug as a bug"
How much don't you love your pet - or would if you had one? Wouldn't you want it to have a bed that is front and center in your bedroom instead of being hidden somewhere in the corner?
By making your own petbed you can style it any way you want and with so many free images out there the sky is the limit.

I made this one from an old drawer by using Annie Sloan's chalk paint and printed images.
The color is custom made by me using mostly white, then blue, gray and yellow.
I applied the images using a transfer-on technique and by using free images from

chalk paint birdie darling heart

Chalk paint birdie heart

I'm finally ready to show you a project using Annie Sloan's chalk paint. I've been so excited to show you this project and even though the paints dry quickly there are still a lot of steps that you need to wait for to dry.

I have used a wooden heart (about 10x11cm) and started by painting it with "Emile" and after it dried with a dilluted "old white".
Then I printed out mirrored images on a laserjet printer and using decoupage glue I attached the images to the painted heart.
This is an image transfer technique that I really enjoyed. Let me know if you'd like to see a tutorial.

After the images were fully transfered I used a satin varnish on the image to seal it and then Annie Sloan's clear wax to the rest of the surface.
As a final step I added dimensional glaze to the center of flower and crackle medium to the leaf. I will say that the dimensional glaze worked well, but the crackle medium kind of "pearled" itself to the middle and didn't really stick the way I wanted. I think next time I will try adding this before I add the varnish.

So what do you think?

Supplies:
Paint:  Annie Sloan's chalk paint in "Emile" and "Old white"
Glue: plaid decoupage glue
Varnish: Winsor&Newton artists' acrylic satin UV varnish

New project on the way and a guest designer spot next week

Annie Sloan chalk paint nightstand

Let me show you my next project in waiting. It's this horribly ugly nightstand that I'm "dyeing" to get some paint on. It has a wonderful shape though and I think it will look great when it's transformed.

I've purchased Annie Sloan's chalk paints (white and basic colors) and will mix my own hues. I want the nightstand to be some kind of shabby white, but I don't know what color to use underneath. Which color would you like to see? I'm thinking about a pale grey or lilac, but maybe you would like to see babypink or some kind of green? Leave a comment and we'll see what this will turn out like.

It will be up for sale (Skåne area) so if you love the shape of it and are thinking about any specific shade, let me know. It doesn't matter to me what color I play with and don't worry - you're not obligated to buy it if you don't like the endresult.
It measures about 38x37x56

Then I have some other news to share with you. Remember this?

I have made a project with it. I ended up not using the Annie Sloan paints, but some fabulous papers from Graphic45 instead.
The absolute best part is that it will be shown as my guest designer project on the

I think I will be able to post it on this wednesday so make sure to check back by then. Here's a sneak peak:

Wishing you a fantastic weekend.
