Sweetpea bloghop featuring Rebecca Sinz
Hello and welcome to sweetpea's bloghop featuring artist Rebecca Sinz. If you have come from Karina's blog then you are on the right track, if not, start from the sweetpea blog. Our designteam has worked with the beautiful images drawn by Rebecca Sinz. If you leave a comment (before august 1:st) on every post during the hop you have a chance of winning a $20 gift voucher to the sweetpea shop. And all the Rebecca Sinz stamps are now 20% off. How great is that? (I moderate by comments so don't freak out if you don't see it straight away. Leave only one comment per person so it will be easier for me to count after the hop, thank you)
Ok, so on to my card:
I have used the slightly melancholic looking image called Gothic Lament. I think this card could work beautifully as a sympathy card - they are so hard to make.
The image is coloured with promarkers, cut out with a nestabilitie and the edges are inked with two distress inks. The thing that took the longest is that aggrivating bowembellishment. I knew I wanted a bow and that stone looking thing in the middle as it looks like the girl's pendant. I just couldn't get it all together and after an hour or two I just had to admit defeat. The papers I have used are from DCWV and have a wonderful metallic sheen to some of the details.
I cut out the oval so the rose and one of the wings would be outside of the frame. Doing it this way makes you focus a bit more on the rose, which gives the sadness an even bigger impact. I also put a black frame on one side of the oval. I think it balances out the image and the whole layout.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Next on your hop-stop is Micki.
Challenges for this card:
Cute card thursday - sketch
I love promarkers - anything goesSweetpea bloghop tomorrow - don't miss out
We're having a hop and you can see my project right here in exactly 12 hours :) See you then.

House mouse 100:th challenge celebration
It's been a while since I played with all the other stamps I have in my stash. I have really missed doing that and entering challenges. During the last few months I've been focusing on my other crafts, but now I feel like I'm slowly coming back. And I'm having a blast.
Today's card is mainly for the house mouse challenge blog. These mice were among the first stamps I fell inlove with, but they were sooo expensive to get here in Sweden. I remember getting my first internet order from the US. Owning my first house mice...I think the love for cute images started right there and then. How could you not love these?
I was very pleased with the card I made yesterday and wanted to continue on the summery feel. Pink/green together with a cute image and butterflies, you just can't go wrong. I used my sewing machine around the edges of the image and pink card and to make a swirl looking like the butterfly's trail. I went over with a glittery pen along those dots and on the flower.
Challenges:
Basic Grey - sketch (I used patterned papers from the urban prairie line)
Everybody art - dots (from the sewing machine trail)
House mouse - buttons, bows and bling
Papertake weekly - getting cute
Stampavie and more - birthday
Stamp and create - ribbons and bows
Stampin for the weekend - animals with 4 legs

If your name is Patsy C - DON'T LOOK! :)
Finally a card from me and let me tell you: I had so much fun making it. A dear internet friend of mine is having her b-day soon and I decided to make a special card for her. She mentioned in her latest e-mail she was into pink/green and shabby chic at the moment. I found these papers that are both and since the colourcombo is one of my favourites I was excited to start. Choosing an image was tricky, but as soon as I saw this stamp called Untouchable by Linda Biggs (plate 81) I knew it would be perfect. I wanted to make it super girly and summery and wanted to add more embellishments and details than usual. I think I managed to learn something new as the card is a bit outside my comfortzone with all the details. If nothing else I managed to learn to measure the whole paper properly, or at least try on a piece of scrap, before I go all out with the punch, lol.
The little butterfly on the stamp is the exact shape and size as one of the butterflies on the borderpunch. I cut it out, embellished and raised up the wings a bit.
Challenges:
Bunny Zoe's - fun in the sun
By the cute and girly - things w wings
Crafts and me - add a flower
Magical monday - use texture (dryembossed butterflies)
Paper sundaes - beach or summer
Passion for promarkers - sketch
Simon says stamp and show - embossing (the butterflies are dryembossed)
Southern girls - happy birthday
Stamp challenges - something embellished
Totally gorjuss - punch or die
