On my wall

In between trips to Scotland  I thought I'd show you a mixed media piece which I did a while ago and which I had framed.  There's a bit of everything here, FME, soluble papaer, copper shim, angelina fibres. paper fabric.
Still loving these colours!

Favourite things

If you are a visitor of textile blogs (and sometimes photography blogs) you will have noticed photos of rust! The colours and texture have an appeal which is often translated into textiles or paintings, part of the fascinating breakdown of objects which were once shiney and new. This was a piece of a rusty something which I picked up (literally) in the Scottish borders and now sits on the windowsill of the porch only to be admired by me, I think! I love it!

First time jitters

For the first time I have been tagged! Help! Here goes! Jackie has tagged me to mention 5 current obsessions (re textile-y things). Now I have to confess that I don't think the word obsession is right, for me at least; it's rather things that I am interested in, drawn to and take pleasure in. So the first thing that I'm going to mention is the colour purple, which I mentioned in a previous post. I love this colour, but don't wear a lot of it. Here are few photos. The first four are brooches, two with old (aka vintage!) buttons, then a wallhanging and finally a fishing net at the harbour and a book cover.
