October 2016 & November 2016

I'm back!!

The last 2 months have been very stressful...... my Virgin internet was cut off at the end of the October ready for when I leave, I've had nothing but problems with the new internet & already I've over spent by £75 so hence why I'm staying away!!

So October came & went, autumn is my favourite time of the year but with all the things going on at the moment I didn't have time to enjoy it.

The biggest thing in October was the terrible fire in the Cathedral green, it was so upsetting to see the Royal Clarence destroyed.

November was all about knitting.... wearing my fair isle jumper & finishing 2 dog coats for the boys.
An evening with the family seeing the Coca Cola truck & spending time with the cats.
I was also lucky enough to see New Model Army & The Beat, nice to let my hair down & forget about my troubles.

I'm still looking for somewhere to live but as it's getting so close to Christmas it will have to wait until the new year now. So many places but none that I can afford or will take cats.

Fingers crossed 2017 is better for us all.

That was the year 2015

Another year has flown passed, we're already one month down in 2016 & I still haven't done my yearly catch up!

So here it is...

January
Staring my new job as fundraiser for the RSPCA, finishing my Christmas jumper, lighting a candle for holocaust memorial day & spending time with Bobby.

February
Under going lots of test at the doctors but they didn't solve the problem! Hugo was born & lots knitting.

March
New phone, starting my Victory jumper, treating myself to goodies & spending time with my family.

April
More crafting & meeting Paul Young

Celebrating VE day, voting (& feeling disappointed with the result!), fundraising events, getting my new glasses & another jumper finished.

June
More fundraising events, the most successful shelter day on record!, day out at Dig for Victory, celebrating OH's birthday & remembering Zoe.

July
My last month in the fundraising role, my nephew's wedding & starting yet another jumper.

August
My birthday month, day out with the family to another 1940's event, meeting Jeremy Corbyn & yet more knitting.

September
Celebrating 7 years in blogland, getting over a nasty chest infection, taking part in the RSPCA Big Walkies & an evening out with friends.

October
Yet another new cardigan, cocktails with friends, more knitting & spending time with my children!

November
Christmas started early, my one & only craft fair of the year (not very successful), remembrance day & more cat cuddling.

December
Finally I could wear my Christmas jumper! Spending more time with my family & partying!

2015 was a good year!

My plans for 2015....

  • Be amazing in my new job! - This didn't work out, unfortunatley they didn't want a fundraiser & it showed! I wasn't allowed to do anything so decided it was time to leave when my 6 month contract was up
  • Sort out my crafting area - Nope, still a mess & getting worse
  • Decorate my living room & bathroom - Nope, the bathroom is worse now thanks to my leaky toilet
  • Read more books - Nope, still haven't found my reading mojo
  • Plan ahead & make stock that will sell - be organised! - A little but I've decided that selling my knitting is going to make my millions so I will be rethinking this in 2016
  • Complete my things to do list - Nearly!
  • Make things for me - Yes indeed..... 4 jumper, landgirl, brooches & more
  • Try to continue Make, Do and Mend on a small scale - Nope, the months just disappeared
  • Spend time with my family - Yep
  • Spend less time on my laptop & more time crafting - This is still a problem, need to try harder in 2016
  • Stay happy! - I think so!

2016 plans include

  • Sort out my crafting area
  • Decorate my living room & bathroom
  • Read more books
  • Plan ahead & make stock that will sell online (no more craft fairs)
  • Complete my things to do list
  • Continue to make things for me
  • Set up a few Make, Do and Mend craft meetings
  • Try to come off my pills that are making me lazy & sleepy
  • Spend time with my family
  • Spend less time on my laptop & more time crafting
  • Stay happy!

Come on Josie-Mary...... you can do it this year!!

July 2015

I've been away too long!

July seemed to pass in a blur...... remembering the Somme, the wedding of my nephew, a week off from work,  knitting cats, starting my Christmas cardigan, spending lots of time at home alone, finishing my temporary job as a fundraiser, having one last chance to see the rescue cats & the big blue moon!!!

August feels like a fresh new start...... I'm back in my shop full time & feeling much happier, funny how my eczema has nearly cleared up! OH has moved back, we'll wait & see how long that last!

I hope August slows down a bit!

November 2014

oh boy oh boy I've been away for weeks!

November started really good..... I sold lots of poppies to raise money for The British Legion, decorated our charity Christmas tree, spent an afternoon travelling around the city on old buses & went to see the fabulous Amsterdam.

It then went pear shape on the 11th when water started coming through the ceiling :(
An emergency roofer was called & I was told I needed a new roof.
After weeks of phone calls & roofers not turning up I've finally got it sorted.

The end of the month saw me celebrating my friends 40th birthday...... I can't believe we met just after her 18th!!

I also had 2 craft fairs at the end of the month. The 1st one was at Exeter library, although I only sold 1 brooch I did enjoy the talk given by Amanda Prowse. Have you read any of her books? I haven't but I might be tempted now.

Crikey was a real success for me this year with my bow scarves being the best seller.
I also have a number of orders from the fair so unfortunately my Christmas jumper is on the back burner..... maybe next year!

Only 2 weeks until the big day...... why does time go so fast?

October 2014

Hello....... I've been away so long!
My poor blog never gets any love these days, Instagram has well & truly taken over.

Just popping in to let you know what I got up to in October

It was a busy month for me...... catching up with friends, seeing The Beat, getting hooked on puzzles, cracking on with my Christmas jumper, making lots & lots of poppies, celebrating Halloween with the family & of course spending time with my girls.

Only 2 months left of 2014...... Crikey!!!!!

November is shaping up to be just as busy. I have 2 craft fairs booked in..... it's the only 2 I planned to do this year & of course I'm not ready! So I'll be busy making over the next few weeks.
I also have lots going on at work, I've been asked to organise a Christmas raffle for all 9 shops, decorate the charity Christmas tree in the city centre & come up with some ideas for fund raising for 2015...... phew!!

So you can see why I don't have much time for blogging!

September 2014

I've been away too long & the weeks are marching on :(

So September came & went in a haze!

I finally received my anniversary present from OH...... we've been waiting since Christmas!.... top left corner, it's the new The Men They Couldn't Hang album that OH pledged, look closely & you'll see my name!!!
We remember our lovely Charlie who pass away 6 years ago, I had my 6th anniversary in blogland, started my Christmas jumper, tried to make loads for the November Crikey It's Vintage fair, finding goodies in my shop, a 1940's day out & of course spending time with my beautiful girls.

September was a lovely months & the sun shone lots. I'm getting used to living on my own but not looking forward to February when OH's lease is up on his new place...... I really don't want to move all my junk!!!

Hope I can find time to blog soon.

Christmas 2013

Over a week has passed since the big day, the decorations have been packed away for another year but I still wanted to do a quick reminder.

For me it's all about the food!!
OH looks after me very well & cooks for me all day, you can see my lovely dinner (the best bit of the day), turkey sandwiches, pickled onions & the lovely Christmas cake my mum made us.

Popsy & Jean had stockings from my mum but you can see Popsy is not impressed!

I did very well on the presents……. a selection of Cath goodies, IWM calendar, 2 tins of biscuits, iPad case, cat bracelet, crazy cat lady figure (not sure why!!), handmade cat door stop from my sister who's just starting to knit again. Another yarn holder, ok so that was a gift to myself after seeing it on Julie's Facebook page.

And my beautiful cat purse……. don't you think it looks like Popsy? Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet as I don't wear make up but I'm sure I'll think of something.

All in all it was a good one & this year I wasn't worn out from extra hours at work!
However I still feel terrible with my cough & haven't made it back since the new year :(
Chest x rays are all cleared (a good thing!) so now I'm just waiting for my blood test results to come back next week.

December flew passed as it always does….

I made a few gifts which Matthew seemed to like! I spent every Sunday in December with my family…. something I've never done before due to the joys of working. A evening at the theatre with my lovely Twitter friends, spending time with my girls & being in bed a lot!

I'll be back with a round up of 2013, book reviews & what I plan in 2014

Stay dry & safe!

Now getting ready for Call the Midwife & Downton Abbey….. I might even squeeze in a turkey sandwich :)

Advent Calendar - Day 23

No snow today… heavy rain & high winds... not very Christmassy!

Sunday, 22 December 2013

It's nearly time…...

I've been away too long!

Sorry for the lack of posts but at least I'm keeping up with my advent calendar.
One of the reasons I've not been posting is because I've had the lurge :(

I've had 2 weeks of antibiotics which have made me feel really poorly, hopefully I'm on the mend now.

So what have I been up to….

The tree is up

An evening out with lovely Twitter friends. We went to the new burger bar that's opened in Exeter, then headed to The Bikeshed Theatre to see The Exeter Blitz Project

It was wonderful, I was so pleased I saw it. You can find out more about it here
I'm hoping it will come back next year so I can take pops.

I've been busy making Christmas presents

I'm so happy that I finish work at 1pm on Christmas Eve…… I'm used to working until 6pm!
I'll be home just in time to see It's a Wonderful Life!

2 1/2 days off…… bliss!
