Manyaman 27-092010

inbox messages = zero
:(
the other day, i did a usual routine in cleaning up my sent folder: mark all, then, delete all marked. i didn't bother double-checking the items but the deletion unusually took longer time to finish. when i was about to compose a message, i noticed my inbox folder. it had no messages indicated below it. i opened and to my surprise, all items were deleted. i looked at my sent folder and messages were still there. uh-oh! i deleted the items on the wrong folder. well, so much for the memory of my most treasured 2006, 2007 messages and some 2008 messages too...

paglalambing
√ new job. *teehee*
wala namang okasyon pero baket, tuwing may okasyon lamang ba pwedeng magbigay ng regalo? :D

pampalamig
1. mainit. mahusay itong pampalamig.

A Morning Person
Have you ever been asked by (online-leisure) surveys whether you are a morning or an evening person? I have. On all instances that I encountered that choice, I was always firm to say I am more of a morning person than otherwise. I love waking up early in the morning and see the sunrise than wake up much, much later. My body feels heavy if I wake up late and it makes me lazy for the rest of the day. Even if there's no work or early activity to be done in the morning, I just love sipping my first cup of coffee, instant or brewed, while smelling the first breeze of the morning air. If I go out of the house during mornings, I witness the neighborhood activities: sweeping their front yard, watering the plants, kids going to school (if there are classes), employees rushing for work, and some are busy washing their cars. public transportation also project a busy movement picking-up passengers from every point available on the streets.
Perhaps, being on morning class sessions in my grade school days have shaped me up to get used to waking up (and eventually love) early mornings. I remember the struggle when I was in kindergarten, up to grade 2 as a student, waking up at dawn and be forced to take my breakfast at the same time the roosters crow. the only noisy voice i hear over the radio comes from (the late) broadcaster Rod Navarro. People at home seem to rush every minute. Our place was the first pick-up point of our school bus so that explains why I needed to prepare VERY early--- ahh... those were the days.
One funny thing though, while I normally wake up early, I also developed this habit of moving on the dot. I calculate time on a minute basis before I prepare and get ready for a morning appointment. i don't prepare myself right away when the clock still allows extra minutes prior to the time of departure. classic reason why I get late when traffic is heavy because I normally do not count traffic jam (time consumption) during preparation. mom said i inherited that from her father--- my lolo. i don't know but i am pretty comfortable racing against time. I find every move valuable and I feel that no time is wasted when i start doing things that needed to be done before the allotted time expires. during mornings, it's what usually happens when I prepare for work. but this habit is all based on time settings. If I set myself to leave earlier than usual, I just adjust the time. same habit, same actions. i am now fit to be labeled as a morning rusher. :D Speaking of morning rusher, i recently enjoyed tuning in to chico and delamar's The Morning Rush on RX93. I used to like (but still like anyway) the RnB music of Wave but the morning rush duo is just hilarious. but i also admit that i find tambalan hilarious---wait, let me say crazy! these morning radio shows make my driving light. when traffic's heavy, all i have to do is tune in to the morning rush's top 10, or listen to chris tsuper & nicole hyala's wacky duo. and with that, i'll end this blog post with a feel good morning song, from Bamboo's version, here's Umagang Kay Ganda. Keep it right here on jon's 03.03.03 stories... LOL. feeling disc jockey lang :P

Thinking Outside of the Box
This is a good read. This has been circulated in emails and I've posted it in my xanga blog. At the end of this story, you will be asked to choose. There is a best solution given to this story but I chose not to publish it here, for you to be able to think about the choice you will have to make...
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night. You pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man (or) woman you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car? Think... This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.
You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer.
WHAT DID HE SAY?
- - - - - - - - - - - -
perhaps his answer is as good as yours. ;)

Test For Dementia
Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it's important that we keep mentally alert The saying; "If you don't use it, you will lose it" also applies to the brain, so... Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence.
So, take the following test presented here and determine if you are losing it or are still "with it." The spaces below are so you don't see the answers until you have made your answer. (To see the correct answer, highlight the lines after the word "Answer".)
OK, relax, clear your mind and... begin.
WELL MAYBE NOT THAT CLEAR!
1. What do you put in a toaster?
Answer: "bread." If you said "toast," then give up now and go do something else. Try not to hurt yourself. If you said, "bread," go to Question 2.
2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk."
What do cows drink?
Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk," please do not attempt the next question. Your brain is obviously over stressed and may even overheat. It may be that you need to content yourself with reading something more appropriate such as Children's World. If you said "water" then proceed to question 3.
3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?
Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said "green bricks," what the devil are you still doing here reading these questions?????
If you said "glass," then! go on to Question 4.
4. It's twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany.) Anyway, during the flight, TWO of the engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before he has time and the plane fatally crashes smack in the middle of "no man's land" between East Germany and West Germany. Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany or West Germany or in "no man's land"?
Answer: You don't, of course, bury survivors. If you said ANYTHING else, you are a real dunce and you must NEVER try to rescue anyone from a plane crash. Your efforts would not be appreciated. If you said, "Don't bury the survivors", then proceed to the next question.
5. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales. In London, 17 people get on the bus. In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Swindon, two people get off and four get on. In Cardiff, 11 people get off and 16 people get on. In Swansea, three people get off and five people get on In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?
Answer: Oh, for crying out loud! Don't you remember your own name? It was YOU!!!!!!

#sentisabado

When You Thought I Wasn't Looking
(written by a former child)
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, "Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."

*sigh*
i'm currently looking at 3rdy* from a distance as he is lined up to have his 1K maintenance check-up. i was a bit surprise to learn that while this supposed 1K & 5K maintenance check is FREE, i still need to put out cash for the cost of oil & a new filter. i've never been so poor in my entire life. ok, let me rephrase that: i've never experienced almost asking for alms in order to survive my days in between salary cut-offs! as i have twitted earlier as my status: "describing my financial status in two words: El NiƱo." ok. wifey's gonna get mad at me again if she reads this. she already told me to not to get so serious about this thing since my looks is catching up fast with my age. but yeah, i've asked myself, "how can't i be thinking about it?" :(
anyhoo, this is the best time to think about inspirational phrases, songs, messages that will somehow uplift a person whenever he/she feels low. phrases like, "there's a rainbow always after the rain", "life's like a wheel--- this time you are down, soon you'll be up.", "every dark cloud has a silver lining." ...and many more!
my career right now is helping me just very little in terms of my needs that is why i'm currently looking on "expanding" my income without sacrificing my time for my family and of course my "duties". i know that something better is coming my way very soon... i hope to learn of it sooner. i don't wanna lose my patience but can somebody please wake me up when september ends? ...and let me see the skies sparkle again...
*3rdy - is supposed to be the name of our son but turned out to be the given name of our first-owned car.
