Ornament Tradition- This (among a few others) is my FAVORITE Christmas ornament. My Grandma Curtis has a fabulous tradition for all of the grandkids. Every year since we were little we have received an ornament that would be ours to take with us when we start our own families. My mom has now started this tradition for her grandkids. All of the kids in my family get so excited for this present, possibly more than any other present!!
I remember one year a LONG time ago. This little treasure chest broke. It hangs by the lid of the chest and the lid detached. I was so heartbroken by this that my mom worked so hard to fix it. I had to sit on the branch of the tree that year instead of hang but she managed to fix it and I always remember that story every year when I pull it out to put on the tree!
