CASology #379

Welcome to Week 379 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Okay I'm really reaching with the cue word this week. I'm pretty sure I don't have any wheat images in my stash so I knew I'd have to think outside the box.  First I considered a "This deserves a toast" sentiment with a slice of toast but I've done a similar design for CASology before.  In the end I went for beer.  Now I'm not a beer drinker but I know there are some beers made with wheat.  (I even googled it to double check I wasn't crazy).  I was going to use white Liquid Applique to make the beer foam puffy but apparently that stuff doesn't last forever because my white Liquid Applique is now decidedly brown!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Wreaths & A Fox

I've got another couple of cards from yesterday's crafting session.  This one is for Freshly Made Sketches.  I pulled out a little used Stampin' Up set for this.  It's nice and easy to stamp the different layers of leaves and berries and it comes with two sentiments so of course I made two cards.  I used Nuvo Crystal drops for the berries.  I love those drops!  I really need want to invest in a few more colours one of these days.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (All from Wondrous Wreath) Stampin' Up
Inks:  (Real Red, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Joy, Noel) Stampin' Up, (Scalloped rectangle) Mama Elephant
Other:  (Nuvo Autumn Red Crystal Drops) Tonic

Next is a card for the Colour Throwdown.  This little Lawn Fawn fox was looking a bit dusty so I thought I'd put him to use.  I realize I probably should have used a little more brown in my design but it's there in the coffee cup so it's not completely missing!  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Slate Blue) Bazzill
Stamps:  (All from Winter Fox) Lawn Fawn

CASology #307

Welcome to Week 307 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

It's definitely that time of year (in the Northern hemisphere anyway) to be zooming around in a convertible with the top down.  Now to find a convertible...  This one from Paper Smooches is super cute and I paired it with a sentiment from PS's very first release way back in the day.  Some stamps will never get old.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #245

Welcome to Week 245 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I wasn't thrilled with the first card I made this week.  It was fine but a little boring so I put my thinking cap back on and came up with growing hair.  As someone with really short hair this is something I deal with a lot and when I put off a haircut for too long I feel like this guy!  He really gives me a good giggle and I thought he'd be perfect for the challenge.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #234

Welcome to Week 234 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I'm using an image today from our sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs.  How cute is this little panda?  I thought this rockin' dude needed a rockin' background and an "awesome" sentiment.  It's a little dark in this picture but that's what it says - You're so awesome.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Wreath & Flower

Luis was out with the boys today so I made it into the Craft Cave today for the first time in a week.  I managed to get a few cards put together and am going to share two of them tonight.  This first one was inspired by the current ColourQ palette and photo.  I finally broke open this gorgeous WPlus9 Woodland Wreaths set to make this clean and layered card.  I added clear Wink of Stella to all the berries for lots of sparkle.  I'm also going to enter this in the Simon Says Wednesday Christmas challenge and the Addicted to Stamps And More Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Soft Sky) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Wreath & bow from Woodland Wreaths) WPlus9, (Sentiment from Think Big Favourites #20) Papertrey Ink
Inks:  (Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Wisteria Wonder, Sahara Sand) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Scalloped panel, Stitched panel) Mama Elephant
Gems:  Doodlebug
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

My next card uses the sketch (a very pared down interpretation of it perhaps!) and the thankful theme from The Friday Mash-Up.  I used a flower and a sentiment from older, neglected Lawn Fawn sets so I'm also entering this in the Lawnscaping In With the Old challenge.  I'm trying to make an effort to create more cards with coloured card bases so that I can jazz up my card stand a little bit.  I've been making lots of super CAS cards lately so I feel like I need to inject some colour to grab people's attention.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Old Olive) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Judy's Blooms, Sentiment from Our Friendship Grows) Lawn Fawn
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Markers:  (R17, YR16, Y15) Copic

Skipping Stones Design New Release Day 2

Hi there!  We're back with Day 2 of celebrating the newest release from Skipping Stones Design.  As I mentioned yesterday, be sure to hop along and check out all the fantastic inspiration and leave comments as Heather (owner of SSD) will be giving away the entire release to a randomly drawn commenter!

You should have arrived here from the Skipping Stones Design blog but if you got lost along the way here's the full list of blogs so you're sure not to miss anything:

Today's card is made with the Hippo Birthday set.  How cute are these critters??  There are some adorable sheep in this set too along with plenty of punny sentiments.  I went for a masculine feel with this card.  I paper pieced the bird and hippo with solid colour cardstock and grounded them with a strip of patterned paper.  There's lots of foam tape action going on here.  Each animal is popped up on foam tape and their heads are also popped up separately which gives lots of fun dimension to the card.

Now it's time to hop along to Martha Lucia's blog and don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Stripes from Let's Polka, Mon Amie) Lawn Fawn
Stamps:  (All from Hippo Birthday) Skipping Stones Design
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Word Bubbles) Paper Smooches

Winter Fox

I'm popping in before I head back work to share a card for a four challenges.  I started out with using the colour palette from The Colour Throwdown.  Because of the orange I decided I wanted to use a fox image so I pulled out this NBUS stamp from Lawn Fawn.  I think sending warm winter wishes constitutes thinking of someone so I'm entering this in the Lawnscaping Thinking of You challenge.  Just Add Ink has asked us to Just Add "W" this week and I have a triple "W" in my sentiment.  Finally there's an Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and the DT focused on Lawn Fawn products so I thought this card would be a perfect entry.

I did more paper piecing with coloured cardstock.  I should really just get over my fear of colouring because it would probably save me a lot of time but I do like the end result once all the fussy cutting is done.  Must dash - lots of hungry cats to be fed!  Have a lovely evening!

CASology #162

Welcome to Week 162 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

So clearly Kimberly and I were on the same wavelength when we made our cards this week as we went for almost identical layouts.  I was going to remake my card but Ardyth pointed out that, despite the similarities, they're really very different.  She's right of course and that's one of the cool things about art - two people can start at the same point but the outcomes are usually totally different.  Go and check out all the amazing designs from the team and then be sure to play along with us.
