Button Thanks Card by Danielle Flanders

I really love the dimension these beautiful buttons give a card! You can create a warm, cozy card with a monochromatic feel with just a few textural items. Here's how:

1. Create a card base from white cardstock.
2. Apply silver rub-on to cream cardstock. Trim to fit on card front. Round corners and ink edges. Wrap thick twine around and tie in knot. Adhere to card base. Adhere two pearls in right hand corner.
3. Thread twine into buttons. Adhere buttons to journaling card.
4. Attach flower and stick pins. Adhere rub-on saying.
5. Adhere finished journaling card with pop dots.

Jenni Bowlin supplies used: Silver Photographer's Mark Rub-on, Cream Vintage Style Sew-On Buttons, Shell Antique Stick Pins, Farmer's Wife Journaling Cards Other supplies: cream and white cardstock, twine, thanks rub-on and pearls (Melissa Francis), Fairy Tale Roses (Prima), Distress Ink (Tim Holtz)

Lovely! Thanks for the inspiration Danielle!

Meet Our February Guest Designer . . . Paula Gilarde!

Hi, I'm Paula :) What started as a simple wedding album has turned into a full-blown obsession. I do something scrap related every day e.g take photos, search for inspiration or actually scrap!. I'm so happy to have this hobby that has allowed me to do something creative every day and make so many friends while doing it.

@6 was my favorite layout - I love to be able to include some digital element on my pages, plus my daughter actually obliged and let me take her photo which is a rarity! Aren't those buttons the best though?
Here's a recent photo of Tommy, my son. It cracks me up - I want to always remember him like this. :)

Artful Farming

Today's layouts are brought to you by Dina. These are a couple she with did with Farmer's Wife for CHA. When I first saw them, I wanted to sneak one home with me and hang it on my wall; they're all just so gorgeous. Dina thinks I'm kidding about that sneaking one home bit, but I'm really not (and I know where they are. ha). I couldn't pick just one favorite, so I posted a couple. You can see more of them on her blog; scroll down to the February 12th entry. Be sure and tell us which is your favorite!

Reduce! Reuse! Recycle!

Wait! Don't throw away that Jenni Bowlin Studio product packaging! It's way too cute! Yes I'm telling you that you even have to save your trash!

See that fun piece of patterned paper covered chipboard? Know what it is? You guessed it! Chipboard button packaging! I just covered the back with patterned paper and then distressed the edges a bit.

I even left the plastic shell on the front; I thought it looked like the whole piece was pop-dotted off the page only no pop dots. Plus, when I trimmed the top of that plastic just a bit it made a nice pocket for my journaling tags. Seriously happy trash to treasures.
