Bug A Boo Stamps Dottie

Wow... it's the last day of the year, I can hardly believe it...  It's also Freebie Friday at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug & it's my pleasure to introduce you to Dottie.

Dottie is one of Jodie's newest characters, I can hardly wait to see the rest of the collection later today!!!  She should be available in the Bug A Boo Stamps store by noon today as well as the entire collection.

I was so tempted to give Dottie red hair but colored her dress pink... being in a family of red heads, they don't wear pink.

She's colored with copic markers RV00, RV21, RV23, RV25, T3, T5, E49, E47, E44, E31, E00, E000, R02, cut out with Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval dies.  I also used patterned paper on my card, it's Basic Grey Bittersweet that I've been hoarding.

The layout is from a Mojo Monday sketch, I don't think you'd recognize the sketch now though.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set and as a finishing touch I added three tiny pink rhinestones to the oval.

Be sure to stop by Catch The Bug to see what our other designers have done with Dottie and also a link to the store for a free Dottie of your very own!

Bug A Boo Stamps Cowboy

It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug today!

I used two cute images from the Cowboy Collection, they are colored with Copic markers E41, E42, E43, E44, E00, E000, R02, R37, R24, R22, B97, B45, B21, W3, W1, W0, C6, C3, C1, C00, Y13, Y15, Y18, YG11, YG13, YG17.

The layout and sentiment for my first card were inspired by Operation Write Home, I thought using the horse shoe to spell out "miss you" would be great for a service person to send home to their child.
Especially a little cowboy!

I used Stampin' Up! Brocade Blue, Kraft, Neenah Solar White and Red Linen card stocks.  The red panel was stamped with the Paisley background stamp by Stampin' Up! and the Kraft panel was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  I also used the Stampin' Up! Just Jeans background stamp on the Brocade Blue.  The "miss" part of the sentiment was computer generated.
My second card uses the same papers with a different layout, I used Spellbinders circles and pinking circles, my Scor-Pal for the scored lines on the Kraft panel and a computer generated birthday sentiment.

You can see the entire Cowboy Collection at Bug A Boo Stamps, I put a link in the name for you.
I know, I know, I'm an enabler...  these are just too cute not to want to share!

Looking Back - A Year In Review

I took a little time today and reviewed my blog for 2010.  I started back in January 2010 and scanned through each page rather quickly, wow... the memories...

I thought I'd like to take time today to share some of those memories with you.

I'd almost forgotten my friend Susan and I went to the CHA Consumer show in Anaheim California last January.  We had a great time, I won 1300 yards of ribbon from Offray!

The battle I was having with the contractor to finish my kitchen cabinets came to an end.
When I filed a lawsuit against him and took him to court.
Hired a new contractor to finish the job.
We made it to court in April 2010.  The judge heard our case and told us she'd take 5 or 6 weeks to make a decision.
When we got home from court that day my new contractor wanted to come over and finish installing my table.  He told me I'd never guess who his next job was.  Nope, never in a million years...  The judge who I'd just been in front of most of the day!  I asked how long it would take to complete her kitchen and he said,
"oh, about 5 or 6 weeks"...
You guessed correctly, I won my case.  God is good!
I just love His sense of humor!

The contractor never paid me the amount I was awarded.  I opened a case with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and we went to a hearing with them next.  The judge strongly suggested to the contractor that he pay me what I'd been awarded in civil court or he'd lose his contractors license and set a due date.  The due date passed, I was never paid the amount awarded me in court.
The contractor lost his license.

Long story short, I've filed all the paper work and am now waiting on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors to reimburse me for the amount owed.  Our next "waiting period" is January 11, 2011.  So I'm still patiently waiting and hopeful.

The photos above are my kitchen which also doubles as my "stamp room", the cabinets under the mirror hold my craft supplies.  That's not totally true, I have infringed a little on the kitchen cabinets, you'll find my air compressor and some boxes of stamps and small paper pads with the coffee.

I also wanted to share some cards and other projects.
This was a design team project for In Style Stamps.

It's kind of fun to see how my coloring has improved over the past year.

I was asked to be part of the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog administrative team in May 2010.

I was asked to be a design team coordinator for Michelle Perkett Studio.

I served as a design team member for The Stamping Boutique.

I was asked to be on the Clear Dollar Stamps Digital Design team.

I'm a proud member of the Bug A Boo Stamps design team.

And last but not least another year has flown by with my husband and children.  I feel so blessed to have the privilege of raising 2 more beautiful healthy kids, watching them grow and change becoming the people God meant for them to be.  My husband and I have only been married about a year and a half and again I'm blessed that he found me and wanted to join in our family and raise two more kids in his retirement years taking such good care of us all.

Thank you Lord for being with me every step of the way I couldn't have done it without You and I know You'll be right next to me in the year ahead.

Hey!  Thinking of Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps, there's a new Midweek Throwdown challenge starting today and it's "cards for kids with a missing you theme", go check it out!

Bug A Boo Stamps Michael & His Rottweiler Pup

My card today features Bug A Boo Brats Michael, one of the Rottweiler Pups and a bench from the furniture and backgrounds collection.  I had to see if I could put Michael and his pup on the bench and get it all in proportion.  I think I was pretty successful at that part, I'm not entirely happy with the color of the bench and the color of the pup.  I think the bench needs to be lighter in color so the rottweiler pup pops.  Luckily these are digital images and I can try again any time.

I used Copic markers to color everything E34, E33, E31, Y32, R02, E00, E000, E47, E42, E43, E44, E53, E57, T1, T3, T5, B21, B45, B97, G000, G00, G02.  I kept the layout simple, I used Stampin' Up! Brocade Blue, SU Mint Melody, Nut Brown and Neenah Solar White cardstocks, the diamond plate Cuttlebug embossing folder and some Dew Drops to finish my card.

The Midweek Throwdown challenge starts today at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps, the challenge is cards for kids with a "missing you" theme.

Michelle Perkett Studio Sprout

Hello!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family.  Life is getting a little more  back to normal at our house I think, the Christmas tree and decorations inside have all been put away.  You might think it's a little early to do all that but you'll see why if you click here.

We have a new challenge today at Michelle Perkett Studio, it's all about celebrating the New Year!
For my card I used Sprout because she's a party girl, she's colored with Copic markers T5, T3, T2, R27, R24, R22, cut out and matted with Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval dies.  I also used Neenah Solar White, Neenah Red Linen and Basic Black cardstock.  The polka dotted paper is a digital file for black and white polka dotted paper, I just used a sheet of Neenah Red Linen.

My card layout is pretty simple.  I thought Sprout would work well with a Spellbinder's Oval die so I used that to cut her out and added the black scalloped mat to frame it.  This combination didn't really "pop" when I put it on the polka dot panel so I measured the height and width of the ovals and cut a rectangle a little larger and matted it with black so it would show up well on the polka dot panel.  I didn't think it looked quite finished so I grabbed a piece of black from my scraps by my paper cutter and slid it under the red panel and liked it so I started sticking it all together.   I usually always lay all the pieces of my card out before I fasten it all down with double sided Scotch tape.  I'm a tape fiend :)   I hope my creative process makes sense!

Be sure to stop by our Michelle Perkett Studio challenge blog to see all the fabulous cards from our design team and see what the new challenge is all about!

Michelle Perkett Studio Woofie Under The Tree

Merry Christmas
and
Happy Birthday Michelle!!!

Today is my friend Michelle Perkett's birthday and I'd love to wish her a Happy Birthday!

I made a card using one of Michelle's digital images called Woofie Under The Tree.  Woofie is one of my personal favorites, I love Michelle's dog images they are so cute!  This one is colored with Copic markers, I printed it as large as I could to fit an A2 sized card and had fun coloring.  I added amber rhinestones to the tree for some sparkle after I put my card together.

Don't forget about our "Let It Snow" challenge over at the Michelle Perkett Studio blog, there's still a few days to enter!

And...  Michelle's beautiful Winter Goddess is the Spotlight Saturday image so she's 20% off this week in her Etsy store!

Bug A Boo Stamps New Years Challenge

Merry Christmas!
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday with your family and friends!  My blog post is set to auto post today for our Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug New Year challenge.
For my New Year's Celebration card I chose Fanny. I think she's really cute and I can totally relate to her figure.  Mine is similar...

I colored Fanny with Copic markers and made her hair red because she kind of reminds me of my Mom too.  Same figure.  I added a little Crystal Lacquer to her champagne glass so her drink looks real. The "happy new year" sentiment is computer generated, I used Spellbinders dies and a little ribbon with crochet thread to finish my card.  Merry Christmas!!!

Bug A Boo Stamps Snowman

You've probably noticed I've been using a lot of Bug A Boo Stamps digital images lately.  I've been totally inspired and having so much fun working with them I can't seem to stop, so I have another card to share today...
It all started Sunday afternoon when I looked at the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #48.  Wow, I loved the sketch and the sample card made by Samantha and was inspired all over again.  I could see Jodie's tall thin snowman image that was a Friday Freebie image a few weeks ago in those tall panels and there's a whole collection of the snowmen I could choose from!

I decided on the snowman with the bell and the snowman with the jingle bell.  I liked the first snowman because I wanted to "flip" the image so the snowman on either side of the one in the middle were facing each other.  Kind of...  So I re-sized the snowmen to fit the panels, flipped the first one in my Publisher software, printed and got busy coloring.  I used Copic markers YR04, YR07, T1, T2, T3, T5, B21, B24, B28, C00, C1, C3, C6, & G0000.

It all went pretty quickly and I was ready to make the card base.  I used Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue, Neenah Solar White and Papertrey Ink Basic Black.  I had a scrap of white embossed with the Sizzix snowflake embossing folder and thought it would be perfect for this and used it.
Quick, simple & fun!

I need to mention it is Freebie Friday over at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug, go check it out and see what Jodie and the design team girls have in store for you today!

Bug A Boo Stamps Christmas Brats

It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug!  I chose Jodie's Christmas Brats and the bench with the Christmas tree for my card so I could squeeze in one more Christmas card here.  I just had to color these cute images!

These are two different digital images merged in my Publisher Program, what fun!  Here's what they look like before I started.  These have watermarks because they're from the Bug A Boo Stamps store.

I used Copic markers and a Copic clear Spica glitter pen to highlight the snow on the bench, tree and star.  I wish it showed up better in the picture! I also used Crystal Lacquer on the ornaments for some shine.  The tag is a Spellbinder's die and the sentiment is becoming one of my Christmas favorites from a Papertrey Ink stamp set.

Michelle Perkett Studio Snowman With Heart

We have a new challenge starting today over at the Michelle Perkett Studio blog called "Let It Snow".  For my design team card I chose "Snowman With Heart" and colored him with Copic markers R22, R24, R27, BG11, BG10, T5, T3, T1, YG13, YG11, G0000.

After I colored the image I trimmed it to the size I wanted and used a Copic Multiliner pen and a ruler to draw a box around it.  This always makes me a little nervous, I know I should do it first but it's usually an afterthought.  I punched three snowflakes from some left over Neenah Solar White and used a little G0000 on them and blended them out, then used some spray adhesive a friend left behind and Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter, then added a red rhinestone to the centers.

It's clean and simple showcasing a great digital image,
I'm happy with it!

I hope you'll have a chance to play in our "Let It Snow" challenge this week at the Michelle Perkett Studio Blog.  One lucky participant will win an image of their choice next Monday evening, December 28, 2010.

Clear Dollar Stamps Snowman Cheer

Just a few more days until Christmas so I thought I'd share one more Christmas card before the season is over.  This cute little snowman is a pre-colored digital image by Clear Dollar Stamps and is actually a freebie this month for the Clearly Inspired Challenge here

I made a very simple layout using White cardstock and the blue gingham digital paper that comes with the snowman as well as a little Neenah Red Linen for the ric rak and the accent under the Spellbinders tag die.  The other dies I used are made by Spellbinders and MFT Stamps dienamics, the sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set.

We have two excited kids out of school this week so my blog posts until the end of the year will most likely be quick!

Bug A Boo Stamps Challenge

It's challenge day at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug, today's challenge is all about food at Christmas time!
I made an easel card with a recipe for "Grandma's Gingerbread Christmas Cookies".  The cute gingerbread girl is from Bug A Boo Stamps  November Digi Stamp Club pack, she's colored with Copic markers E41, E42, E43, C1, C00, R22, R24, R27 cut out & matted with Spellbinders circles and scalloped circles dies.

The papers are a kraft I found in my stash that's a warmer tone than anything else I have.  The red gingham was a scrap of digital paper that was left over from another card, the red and white are both by Neenah.  The sentiment and "pull" are computer generated and the recipe is not from my Grandma, it's from an online recipe site.
Here's a shot of one of the recipe pages when you pull the tab.

I used the tab punch from Stampin' Up! and the buttons are by Basic Grey with crochet thread tied in bows.
One last photo of the cookie recipe.  I think the kids and I should try these!  They are out of school on Christmas break for two weeks now. So, if you don't see me posting on my blog quite as much in that time you'll know why.

Bug A Boo Stamps Sock Monkey

Today is Oldie But Goodie Day at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug challenge blog.  I chose the Sock Monkey for my card.  I found him in the design team stash of images in a pre-colored version so I thought I'd take advantage of that little luxury at this time of year!  I'm pretty sure you all know how much I love to color using my Copic markers but I need to do our Christmas shopping and maybe some baking too just like you!

I also love digital images and had the idea to crop the flower beside the sock monkey out so I could use it to make my own background paper for my card.  The other papers are Basic Black, Neenah Solar White, Red Linen and Stampin' Up! Yo Yo Yellow.  My accessories are Spellbinders oval dies, Stampin' Up! Word Window punch, Yo Yo Yellow eyelets (my last 2!) and a "love you" stamp from Flourishes.

With digital images it's very easy to re-size your images to fit where you'd like them to on your card, my idea was to "flip" the original mouse digital image so both of the mice on my card were looking at that delicious hunk of cheese!  I couldn't remember how to flip an image so I had to "google" what I wanted to do in my Publisher program to flip the image and it worked!

Supply List:

Bug A Boo Stamps Christmas Brats New Release

This is my second post today, I couldn't help myself I was inspired by this new release set at Bug A Boo Stamps called Christmas Brats.  There are three images and I just had to play with them and try to merge them with my Microsoft Publisher program.  I knew it would work I just didn't know it was going to be so easy.  I used the png files with the transparent backgrounds and...  I know I'm a geeek.

After printing this cute image I colored it with Copic makers R22, R24, R27, R02, YG11, YG13, YG17, E00, E000, E31, E33, E34, Y32, C1, C00, W1, cut it out and matted it using Spellbinder's Octagon and scalloped octagon dies then had to come up with a layout.  I was thinking about  a candy cane stripe, printed digital paper with a candy cane stripe and set it aside.  Hmmm...

Instead I went with layers of red and white using Neenah Solar White and Red Linen and embossed the white layers with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Sizzix Snowflakes embossing folders and layered them on my card base.  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set stamped in Palette Pure Poppy ink.

To see what our design team made for the new release of Christmas Brats go to Catch The Bug and to see the entire collection you can go to the Bug A Boo Stamps online store.  They are cute!

Now that I have that out of my system I need to go do what I'm really supposed to be doing.  The kids have parties at the end of the week and need cookies.  I'm off to the store.

Michelle Perkett Studio Christmas Blessings Angel

I haven't posted anything for a few days and it feels kind of strange to me not to have something everyday here for you.  I have been busy make cards though I just haven't been able to show you everything I've been working on, soon!

My card today is made with Christmas Blessings Angel from Michelle Perkett Studio.  I colored her with Copic markers R22, R24, R27, G21, G24, B0000, R37, Coo, E00, E000, E44, E47, E49, E31, Y0000.  She's printed at almost 4 1/2 inches tall so I kept the card layout simple to show her off.  She also comes with a sentiment above her that I used my photo editing software to crop then I had just the angel.  I didn't use any Spellbinders dies today but did use an old Stampin' Up! corner punch and my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folders Swirls and Swiss Dots as well as four red rhinestones to the corners to finish it off.

We have a new Christmas Theme challenge starting today at the Michelle Perkett Studio challenge blog if you'd like to play along.  There will be a prize drawing from the entries with a winner announced the evening of December 20th.

Michelle Perkett Studio Buddy The Christmas Pup

And a cat in the Christmas tree...
I was working away on my card today when I heard jingle bells and rustling in the Christmas tree, I knew who it was and thought she was under it playing with the ornaments.  This is what I saw when I looked her way...  I was wrong, lol, she was inside it playing with the ornaments!
And here's what I was working on when the entertainment started.

This is one of my favorite digital images from Michelle Perkett Studios, I love Michelle's animals, oh lets face it, I love all of Michelle's images!   This one is called Buddy The Christmas Pup and is colored with Copic markers B21, B23, E41, E42, E43, C00.  The layout is Splitcoast Stampers SC296, I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Snowflakes embossing folders, the MFT Stamps snowflakes die and some black half pearls.

Bug A Boo Stamps Winter Wonderland

Happy Saturday!
My card today is for the challenge at the Bug A Boo Stamps challenge blog Catch The Bug.  The challenge theme is "Winter Wonderland".

I used the penguin from my December digi club pack, isn't he cute?!  He's colored with Copic markers T1, T2, T3, T5, Y13, Y15, Y18, R24, R27, cut out with Spellbinder's Nesties circle and pinking circle.  I used the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder and my Scor-Pal for embossing, the "winter wishes" is from a Papertrey Ink set, the black dots are from my stash and the snowflakes are a really old punch.  I colored 2 clear rhinestones with a Copic Y18 marker to match the pengiun and Stampin' Up! Summer Sun cardstock.  My layout is a sketch from A Crafty Little Place.

I hope you'll join us for the Winter Wonderland challenge over at Catch The Bug!  Make a project and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, by 12/18/10 at 6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs - win seven images (7) (using a Bugaboo image only), or four images (4), or two images (2) using any image!
