Resist We Much: MSNBC 'Star' Al Sharpton to Lead March for Obama Jobs Bill

I'm pretty sure there's some kind of journalistic conflict of at play here, but who said MSNBC represented journalism? I recall the MSNBC suits had a problem with that lunatic Olbermann contributing to a specific candidate. But what would they say about this? They can't say anything, of course, because that would be raaaaacist.
The Rev. Al Sharpton said he will lead a march in Washington next month in support of President Barack Obama's jobs plan - and he dismissed blacks who criticize Obama over high black unemployment as having backed Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2008.

As Sharpton announced plans Wednesday for the Oct. 15 March for Jobs and Justice, he was asked whether there is a double standard in failing to hold Obama accountable for joblessness among blacks. The leader of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., has said there is and that had President Bill Clinton failed to do the same, black leaders would have marched on the White House.

The double standard, Sharpton said, is that most black politicians who publicly criticize Obama did not initially back his 2008 presidential bid - they supported Hillary Clinton, who is now secretary of state.

"We did march when (Bill) Clinton was president. I led the march on racial profiling. They weren't in the march, so maybe the reason they didn't think nobody marched on Clinton was because they missed it," Sharpton said.
The AP story makes zero mention that he now works for MSNBC.

Just imagine how many jobs could be created or saved if Obama's buddy just paid the millions in taxes he owes.

More Broadcast Excellence From Al Sharpton

Not quite up to the gold standard established last week with the famous Resist We Much hilarity, but still, it's yet another nail in the NBC News coffin.

You folks must be so proud.

By the way, happy anniversary, Reverend.

Teabagger Terrorism Spreads to Europe

The terrorist menace threatening to unleash global catastrophe has now spread across the Atlantic. Do these monsters realize the damage they're causing?
ITALY will likely default but Spain could scrape through, the Centre for Economics and Business Research said today as the eurozone debt crisis threatened to engulf the two countries.

The CEBR said it had modelled good and bad scenarios for the two countries and Italy could not support its debt even if rates fall back unless the eurozone's third-largest economy sharply increases growth.

"Realistically, Italy is bound to default, but Spain may just get away without having to do so," said the London-based consultancy.

Even though Italy has managed to run tight budgets - and plans to eliminate its deficit by 2014 - with its massive debt it won't be able to escape if it can't boost its growth rate, it said.

It calculated Italy's debt would rise from 128 per cent of annual output to 150 per cent by 2017 if bond yields stay above the current 6 per cent and growth remains stagnant.
Just a taste of what awaits us.

Meanwhile, MSNBC lunatic Martin Bashir and some crackpot diagnose these terrorist psychopaths. They're so cute when they project.

And no, this isn't a comedy sketch.

Heh: NBC Employees Upset Over Cut in Psychotherapy Benefits

Lord knows the star-studded lineup at MSNBC sure needs the help. Now they might have to dip into their own pocket.
Their new bosses are driving NBC staffers crazy. Since Comcast took over the network from General Electric earlier this year, some staffers are complaining that their new health insurance doesn't offer the same level of benefits for psychotherapy. Though GE employees were offered Aetna and United Healthcare, Comcast's Magellan Behavioral health insurance doesn't offer the same coverage, staffers say.
C'mon folks, it's time for shared sacrifice. You would think NBC is saving a bundle now that Keith Olbermann has gone into hiding, but apparently he must have driven so many people nuts the residual effects are still ongoing.

White House Raps MSNBC on the Knuckles for Halperin's "Dick" Comment

Talk about thin-skinned. An MSNBC commentator makes a completely accurate albeit crude comment about Barack Obama, and the President responds by having his press secretary call the network to express displeasure.

What country are we living in here - Cuba?

Disgraced MSNBC Numbskull: Bachmann is Crazy Because She Never Voted for a Tax Increase or Something

Look at the bright side. He didn't call her a right-wing slut. The idiot was aided Tuesday in his analysis of the GOP debate by having on seven other liberals.

What happened to fair and balanced, fatboy?

Bachmann was widely viewed as the surprise star of the debate, even by other MSNBC hosts, but Schultz is too dense to even notice that, let alone acknowledge it. No, he's stuck on the "Bachmann is crazy" meme and just won't let go.

Delicious Irony: Obama Fanboy Ed Schultz is Very Concerned About "Radical" Whippersnapper Paul Ryan

I'm not sure whether the doctors dropped Ed Schultz on his head in the delivery room or if he was recently kicked in the head by a mule. But somewhere along the way he must have experienced some severe head trauma. Poor guy. It obviously affects his political analysis.

Fortunately for Schultz, that sort of impairment is par for the course over at MessNBC.

Apparently, Mr. Ed believes that allowing Medicare to collapse while doing nothing (except of course demagoguing the bejeezus out of the issue) isn't radical at all. No, no - the radical plan I guess is to come up with a few common sense ideas that preserve benefits for seniors age 55+ while making necessary changes to the program for younger Americans, so that we might have a fighting chance at avoiding certain fiscal and societal calamity.

Who does Paul Ryan think he is, anyway - some neophyte community organizer with perfectly creased pants and an irresistibly cute boyish smile?

Special thanks to Newt Gingrich for teeing this one up for Schultz.

Low Rated Cable Host Sued Over TV Deal

Honestly, if I were the one responsibly for unleashing this plague upon Americans I'd probably be keeping a very low profile.
An NBC employee claims MSNBC host Ed Schultz owes him 25 percent of his TV earnings because he developed the network's "The Ed Show." Michael Queen -- an NBC broadcast engineer -- alleges in a lawsuit that he pitched an idea for a show to be hosted by Schultz to MSNBC's Phil Griffin in 2008. "Almost a year after Queen had pitched the show to Phil Griffin, and Griffin turned down the show, Griffin called Schultz and hired him directly for 'The Ed Show,' " the court papers state. Queen also claims that he found an apartment for Schultz and his wife in Washington, DC, and even loaned him a car for three months for free. Queen told us: "We picked them up from the airport, and went shopping for them -- all while helping them become millionaires, and we received nothing." Schultz's attorney, Jeffrey Landa, told us that Queen and Schultz once worked together on a pilot for a syndicated weekly show at a local Washington, DC, affiliate, and that Schultz has no further obligation to Queen.
Schultz likes to portray himself as a champion of the little guy. How about taking care of the people who helped get you where you are, fatboy?

Remedial History Student Lawrence O'Donnell Gets Schooled By Condoleezza Rice

Lawrence O'Donnell must have been so excited to score this interview with Condoleezza Rice. Little did he realize he was in way over his head and was in for a most humiliating beat-down, the likes of which we haven't seen since...well, the last time somebody confronted the BDS-addled MSNBC host regarding his devastating affliction.

This is well worth your time. As Larry O'Connor noted, we could have used a lot more pushback like this from the Bush Administration while he was in office. But hey, better late than never.

Sergeant Schultz: Bin Laden's Death Will Be the Republicans' "Waterloo"

I know we've already honored Bill Richardson with the Crazy Person of the Day award, but here we have a solid runner-up who should not go unmentioned.

Please, please - watch the video if you want to fully appreciate teh stoopid, laid bare with Schultz's trademark buffoonish delivery.
"Osama bin Laden is the Republicans' Waterloo on national security. They don't have the upper hand. Their plan didn't work for all those years. They did the illegal activity and it didn't work. And it was President Obama and it was the Democrats who have supported this strategy that was well played out on the campaign trail and now is enacted big time and we're getting ... results!"
It's a shame nobody bothered to inform Mr. Ed that it was the Republican plan that actually worked, not Obama's. Fortunately, the American people are way smarter than Schultz.

Then again, so is my pocket lint.

Pundit Turns Tables on Race-Obsessed MSNBC Dimwit, Calls Her 'Racer'

The obsessed left just cannot move on from this whole birther thing. Now that Obama finally came up with ID, these clowns are clinging like rabid dogs to it, and focusing on race. It's all the have left. Their guy is a miserable failure, so all they can do is make baseless allegations.

Via Breitbart. Speaking of Andrew Breitbart, here he is with Jason Mattera discussing the media's never-ending obsession with calling people racist simply because they have differing political viewpoints.

I'm sure most of you detest Bill Maher, but tune in this week as Breitbart appears. Should be interesting.

Newsflash: Rachel Maddow 'The Top US News Anchor', MSNBC Has 'No Political Agenda'

Calling someone from MSNBC the "top" anything is certainly news to us.
"I'm not a screamer," she agrees after the show during a chat in her office, her legs curled up underneath her, and contacts swapped for heavy-framed geekish glasses. "I'm confrontational, but I don't think that translates into anger." What it translates into is ratings. In the first quarter of this year, Maddow's ratings were 26% higher than CNN's talkshow in the same timeslot (1,065,000 to 848,000), which, incidentally, is hosted by Piers Morgan.
I guess they simply have to pretend Fox News doesn't exist in order to buttress the claim she's the "top news anchor in the US," something obviously not supported by the ratings.

Another howler:
Of Fox News, she says simply "When it starts to seem like you have popped into bed with a specific party, it makes it difficult for people to believe you are not doing someone else's bidding for them."

At MSNBC, on the other hand, "there are people here who are identified as liberals, but there is no political agenda".
Really? I guess if you lie to yourself enough you begin to believe it.

Chris Matthews: Let's Move On to the Issues

MSNBC unveils their latest batch of insipid "Lean Forward" spots, including this from Tingles.

Sure, it would be great if we could move on. Maybe we can start with Chris Matthews himself.

For a guy who wants to "move on" to the issues, Matthews spends an awful lot of time on so-called birthers.

If you needs some laughs, the whole menu of new spots can be seen here. The Ed Schultz ones are particularly hysterical.

Old and Busted: Forgetting Obama is Black. The New Tingle: Drinking In His "Little Boy Smile"

Of course, this isn't the first time Matthews has been unabashedly smitten by Obama's boyish, "winning" smile. It's a recurring tingle. I just had to call it "new" to fit the trusty Old and Busted headline formula.

Not surprisingly, Eugene Robinson laughs out loud takes his cue from Matthews and compares Obama's public affectations to Ronald Reagan's "head waggle."

One gets the sense that the 2012 election is going to hit these guys like a Mack truck.

'You Have Me Confused with John Boehner'

Nice to see the new tone firmly taking root on the left. In one corner you have a low-rated, unhinged MSNBC babblehead. In the other, the Speaker of the House. Not too hard to separate the two.
When Keith "Uberdork" Olbermann signed off at MSNBC last week, one of his colleagues burst into tears -- of joy. A network spy said Ed Schultz welled up with happy tears when he learned Olbermann was booted and that he'd be moved to the better 10 p.m. time slot as part of a resulting program shuffle. Schultz, who's known for random outbursts, such as when he yelled at staff, "I'm going to torch this [bleeping] place!" was told to ditch his "psycho-talk" segment in his new time. He said through an MSNBC rep, "You have me confused with John Boehner."
Speaking of Olberdork, we may finally have the reason for his precipitous slide into looneyland.
In the end, it wasn't Keith Olbermann's wacko politics, bipolar tantrums, or the Comcast takeover that set his MSNBC career on a collision course with an iceberg.

It was Ben Affleck.

A source formerly with the cable network said the end began in April 2009, when Rachel Maddow booked Hollywood's darling to appear on her show. Olbermann wanted the star for himself on "Countdown."

It was the first battle Keith didn't win.

"In protest, he refused to go on the air," said the ex-colleague.

It wasn't his first meltdown. A year and a half earlier, MSNBC had moved studios from the Jersey boonies to Rockefeller Center. When Olbermann discovered that his new office door had a built-in window, he went ballistic, phoning network President Phil Griffin and threatening to walk.

"I mean literally, Andrea. Over the door!" said the source. "Keith made such a fit about it. He was ugly and mean. But no one came to his defense.

"Part of me feels sorry for him. He can't blame alcoholism. That was just a normal thing for him to throw tantrums." The door was replaced.

But it begs the question: Can Keith Olbermann be saved? Or, like Norma Desmond, will he fade, screaming, into the sunset?

After he lost Affleck, Olbermann staged a three-day sickout. He later claimed that he vanished from the air to mourn his mother (and attend baseball games). But Olbermann's mom died nearly two weeks earlier, CityFile reported, and he didn't miss a day of work. Until Ben.

Last April, Olbermann went nuts when Donny Deutsch was hired as a guest host on MSNBC. He got Deutsch bumped.

"Donny was p- - -ed," said a source.

Shortly after that, Olbermann first proposed walking away from more than two years on his $7 million-a-year contract, as The Post reported. Then, just as suddenly, he stayed put. In November, he was suspended two days for making political contributions. But he never apologized. He truly believed he was being persecuted.

So earlier this month, when Olbermann again whined that he wasn't happy, MSNBC brass couldn't wait to be rid of him.

"He has no friends, nobody to go to," said one former pal. "He said, 'I can't take this! This is too much for me!' Well, guess what. Nobody cared."

Yes, This Exists: The 'Keith Olbermann for White House Press Secretary' Facebook Page

The page has a whopping 19 'likes' so far - which may sound pathetic, until you consider the fact that it actually represents Olbermann's entire 'Countdown' audience.

What's next - a Daily Kos diary post imploring this pompous hatemonger to consider running for U.S. Senate?

Oh my.

Ed Schultz: So Nutty, Dennis Kucinich Seems Utterly Rational By Comparison

Well, nobody ever accused Ed Schultz of having a sense of irony.

One of MSNBC's dumbest bricks, Schultz decided today that a good way to tee up a discussion on "toning down the rhetoric" would be to unload yet another one of his patented, unhinged screeds on the GOP:
"John Boehner has to deal with all of this tea party rhetoric in his caucus, and has no interest in trying to work with the President. Sarah Palin, and the Tan Man, and the rest of the Republicans have no interest in rising to the President's challenge on tone and accepting the plea to change it all. They already have a post-Tucson mentality."
Pause. He means 'pre-Tucson mentality'. He is accusing conservatives of having a 'pre-Tucson mentality'.

Sigh.

He continues...
"They don't care about stripping 32 million Americans from getting their healthcare. They don't give a damn about kids with pre-existing conditions. And they want every American armed and dangerous. Pretty clear - this is all about putting Democrats on the defensive, and filling their campaign coffers for 2012."
How's that for a compelling rhetorical fig leaf? Schultz even threw in that embarrassingly out-of-context Michelle Bachmann quote - which was a nice touch, I thought.

But Kucinich wasn't buying it. Now watch as his pleasantly surprising response leaves Schultz flapping in the breeze.

Chris Matthews Asks: What Is the Cause-Effect Relationship Between Derangement and "Right-Wing Crazy Talk"?

Despite the fact that we now know quite a bit about Jared Loughner's twisted background, the nincompoops over at MSNBC continue to feign ignorance, holding out hope it would seem for some shred of evidence showing that the tea party, Sarah Palin "target" maps, and conservative talk radio made Loughner go on a murderous rampage, or something.

It is reprehensible beyond words. And yet, not surprising at all given what we know about the Left and their shamelessly dishonest cohorts in the media.

So here we have a spry and tingly Chris Matthews actually wondering out loud on national television whether deranged people like Loughner - or, you know, the people you might run into at church, in a train or bus station, or the local 7-11 - gravitate toward right-wing "crazy talk", or is it perhaps the right-wing crazy talk that turns people into psychotic murderers?

Unreal.

"And I sometimes think that if you are disturbed, you look for companionship, like you look for places you can go, like people go to churches who are deranged. People go to train stations and bus stations, they find their way to them. You see them talking to nobody. You see them at convenience stores. There's certain places that people go to, to feel comfortable when they're alienated. And my question is, do they go to perhaps listening to right-wing crazy talk (or left-wing crazy talk in different circumstances), or is it that those things lead them to be crazy?"
