For Your Birthday

Happy Monday Peeps!!

they have a great sketch challenge this week.

You all know I LOVE a good sketch challenge!

I pulled out the All That You Are stamp set to use.
I love that set as well.
I stamped with Black Stazon onto thick Whisper White card stock.
I colored using Rich Razzleberry and Wild Wasabi ink
and a bit of Daffodil Delight with my water brush.

I stamped an extra flower to add to my image. I fussy cut it all out and put it aside to do the rest of the card.
I used Rich Razzleberry card stock for my base.
I then used a layer of white and another piece of razzleberry that I embossed with the Subtle EF.

I added a white doily to the edge and trimmed off the side.
Over the doily middle is a circle of Razzleberry card stock.
I added a couple of pieces of ribbon across the bottom portion of the doily.
The image piece is then added with some dimesionals.

The sentiment comes from the Birthday Cheer set and was stamped with Black Memento ink.
I fussy cut around it and added it to the card with more dimensionals.

I finished with a few basic rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by today.

The Paper Players.....Thanks a Bunch

Happy Sunday Peeps!

I am back with another sketch challenge card. This one using the sketch this week at the The Paper Players.

I love layers, and this sketch was perfect for using lots of layers and some fun DSP.
This DSP is from the retired Sweater Weather pack.
The colors are perfect for a fall inspired card.
I used the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and matching dies. I die cut several of one of the flowers in this set and stamped with Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango.

I die cut a few leaves using old olive cardstock and tucked the in and around my flowers.
For the vertical element in the sketch, I used a bit of twine.

The sentiment is from the same Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.
I added  a  few candy dots to finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Players....Happy Birthday

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on The Paper Players.
I have to say I struggled with this sketch and I put at least 3 tries into the recycle bin before finally getting this one to come together.

Here is the sketch:

I made my main element first, I stamped a few of the flowers from the Stampin Up Bloom with Hope Hostess set.
I stamped them with black stazon onto some white card stock.
I then colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I colored with Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Hello Honey, Wild Wasabi and Smokey Slate.
I stamped one image onto the oval that I had die cut out and colored it with Real Red and Wild Wasabi. I then cut out the other flowers I had painted and used some foam tape to add them to the oval piece. I used some twine to make a double bow and glued it to the stems of the flowers at the bottom of the oval.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then the next layer is white stamped with the Hardwood BG.
The flags are Crumb cake that I embossed with the random dot Ef.
The third flag is white and stamped with the Happy Birthday sentiment that is also in the Bloom with Hope stamp set.
Sometime during the process of making this card I smudge some black ink onto the top of the card and since I needed something up there to cover that and the fact that the sketch indicates something different on the top part of the card I came up with the idea of the doily.
I think it looks good there, so win win!!!
I added the flower oval to the base with some foam tape as well.
I finished it up with some tiny pearls at the base of the flowers and then I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer to the flowers.
Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by today!

Deer Forest Friends

TGIF Peeps! Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend and that it does not fly by like most of the weekends do! On Sunday afternoon I am going to a friends house to do some water coloring. A few of us are meeting to try and hon our skills!!!

I put together today's card with a couple of challenges in mind. I first off used this weeks sketch challenge on splitcoast and I also used this weeks Ways to Use it Challenge which was to use or make a frame.

I love sketch challenges as you all know and I had the frame thing in mind to use with this set anyway, because that tree just seems out of proportion to me to the animals, the set is SU's Forest Friends ans is adorable.

So it all just fell into place, love it when that happens.

If you follow the sketch challenges on splitcoast you know that Roxie, the sketch challenge hostess, always puts measurements in her sample card. I love that.

So I started my card by making the frame, I cut the pacific point card stock to the measurements she had specified: 3 1/8 x 4 1/8”, I then got out my circle nesties and to see what size would work with the tree image and wold fit the panel. I centered the piece over my nestie, leaving a bit more space at the bottom, and then ran it through the cuttlebug to cut. I then ran it through the cuttlebug again with the swiss dot embossing folder to add some more texture.

I stamped the tree onto some white cardstock with kiwi and chocolate chip and used dimensionals to attach it to the pacific blue piece. I added some silver brads to the corner and then matted it all onto a piece of baja card stock that is just 1/8 inch larger.

The DS paper I used is from the Good Morning Sunshine pack and is matted with more pacific. The base of the card is baja and I used baja ribbon, to "hang" my frame.

The cute little deer is stamped with chocolate chip and cut out and mounted on the outside of the frame.

I did not add a sentiment to this card as I could not make one work with my layout, it is soooo hard for me to make a card with out a sentiment on the front, but people tell me it is fine to do so, just hard for me!!! LOL!!!

The inside of the card is layered with more pacific and white cardstock and I used the single SU stamp that reads: "So glad you are one of my "dearest" friends." I think that fits the front don't you?

Well, that is all for today, I hope I have something to share with you tomorrow, I am feeling so "mojoless" last night and today.!! UGH!!! Hate that.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Kiwi Sketch and Monochromatic Card Challenge

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with this weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast. This card also fits the Monochromatic Card Challenge from my SU only blogging Sisters!!!

My "Trendy Trees" Set was still out on my desk when I sit down to stamp so I just decided to use it again!

I used Kiwi for my base and followed that with some whisper white and then some DS paper from the "Good Morning Sunshine" Pack. For the side panel I used more white and my EK Success Edge punch. I punched bot sides and then layered on more DS paper from the same pack.

The center element is made up of white and kiwi and DS paper. I added the sentiment in a banner like yesterday's card and then added some big ol' white brads at the side. The sentiment and the tree are on dimensionals. The whole main image panel is on dimensionals as well.

I then added some white ribbon I got at Target a while back. That is it, kinda all matchy, matchy but I kinda like it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Egg-ceptional

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!! Hope your week is going well! We are on the down side of the week. It is rainy a cloudy and cold here today. Awwww Spring.......where did you go?

Today's card is made with this
weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast.

I am still loving the "Wagon Full of Fun" Stamp set. This time I added the wagon and some cute little Easter eggs.

I first saw the idea for the duck pulling the wagon here on Becky Roberts blog. Her card is just too cute, so I sit out to make my own version.

I stamped the wagon, two eggs and two ducks onto watercolor paper and colored them with my aquapainter and markers. I then cut them all out, the second duck I only used the wing, to layer. On the wagon I cut out on the spaces between the rails and I cut off the handle to be able to move it to the other end for the duck to hold.

I made my grass border by just making small little cuts in my strip of certainly celery card stock. I added chocolate chip brads for the wheels and the handle connect. I also used brads on the eggs. The whole scene was glued onto PTI white card stock and layered with bashful blue and so saffron card stock.

The DS paper is from the Delicate Dots pack from SAB and so is the so saffron ribbon. I loved them both and stocked up on them while I could. I have to say I love these two pieces of paper from the pack the most.

The paper is split in the middle and mounted onto some certainly celery and the base of the card is bashful blue. It is all so "Springy". The sentiment is from the same set and stamped onto PTI white with black stazon and punched out with the word window punch and attached directly to the image panel.

The main panel s on dimensionals. I also added three so saffron brads in the upper left corner.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Taste of Textile

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!! I am super excited to show you my cards today! Yesterday my favorite demo Lois delivered my order to me so I had new "stuff" to play with last night. I didn't even cook dinner, just ordered pizza and went straight to my stamping table!!!

The first card is made with this weeks card sketch on splitcoast.

I started with some pacific point and some dotted vellum from the cool "Taste of Textile" paper pack. I then layered on some more pacific and some pacific DS paper from the "Good Morning Sunshine" paper. It is followed with more pacific and some shimmery white striped paper from the textile pack.

The main image is made on whisper white. I used my new "Friends 24-7" Stamp set and stamped the damask image in pacific after I had stamped it off twice on scrap. I then inked up the bird with my black stazon and stamped it directly over the blue image. I then pierced the corners and added the spiral clip with some white taffeta ribbon.

The sentiment panel is from the Congrats SAB set and is stamped in pacific ink and then layered onto some more pacific. I cut the ends to make it look like a banner.

I mounted the image panel and sentiment panel with dimensionals to the BG pieces. I added some silver brads to the corners of the square panel.

I love to decorate the inside of my cards too, I don't always show you pictures of them, but this one I wanted you to see:

OK, one more for today with some more of the Taste of Textile, this pack is really AWESOME!!

I just love kraft and chocolate chip! Probably two of my all time favorites.

This card is super simple, I used the SU "Close as a Memory" stamp set. I wanted to keep it clean to show off the textured kraft.......can you see it?

Sympathy cards are always hard for me, but I like how this one turned out.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Friendship Thank You!

Good Morning, Hope you all had a super Christmas!

My card today is for the Limited Supply Challenge on Splitcoast and also for this weeks Sketch challenge. The rules for the limited supply are: - no holiday stamps (and I mean December holidays - Valentine's Day, birthday, that's ok)
- no snowflakes
-no red, green, or any shades of red or green (pink is ok )
- no holiday sentiments

I wanted to use one of the new in colors that I had never used, pacific point, I hadn't even opened the ink pad yet and I got it when they first came out, so I thought it was about time.

When I stamped the pacific on the kraft card stock it looked just like not quite navy, so I just went with those colors. I used Kraft for the base and layered not quite navy, foll wed by another layer of kraft. I pierced along the outside edge all the way around, with my piercing tool and mat pack. For the main image panel I stamped the flower from the SU set upsy daisy first in baja and then again in pacific, moving over slightly to give the shadow effect. The top panel is up on dimensionals.I distressed the edges of all three of the layers on the main panel with my distressing tool. Super simply card and great for mailing, not alot of bulk.

That's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!
