The Big Day

We celebrated with my sister (and new brother-in-law!) this weekend at their wedding! The girls had a wonderful time being flower girls. They were sooooo well behaved. We couldn't be more proud! It's hard being off schedule and running around getting ready, and they were amazing.

We started with the rehearsal on Friday night.

Me and my baby sister! :)

Practicing to be the best flower girls ever!

Allie is in a phase where she tries hard NOT to smile for pictures. It cracks her up!

I just love this picture! Lauryn and my dad were being silly during dinner.

Have you ever seen anything like this in your entire life!? And yes, it was fabulous.

Getting ready!

Me and my handsome hubby

Their shining moment! :)

The happy couple!

You can see Allie's new "poker face" in the next pictures...silly girl!

Beautiful bride!

No, seriously...how many more pictures??

A friend of mine pointed out that this looks just like the prom scene from Twilight (all of you fellow fans will get that! )

They couldn't care less about the actual bouquet...just wanted as many petals as they could get!
Because I don't want to forget, I have to mention that when the girls made it down the aisle, Lauryn's basket was empty and Allie's was still about 3/4 full. Lauryn told me later that Allie was throwing one petal at a time.
The best part was when the ceremony was over and they turned to go back up the aisle, Allie stopped to pick up every petal and put them back in her basket. It was hilarious!
It really was such a wonderful weekend for our family!

Wedding Countdown

My baby sister is getting married on Saturday! Today we all went out for pedicures and lunch. The girls had their toes painted, too! I told them they could choose any color they wanted. I stood there sweating as they picked up some lovely shades of lime green and almost black polish, but in the end they each chose a clear "sparkly" color. Because their flower girl dresses have sparkles on them. You can't argue with that logic!

Here's the bride to be!

Can't wait for Saturday!

The Elmo Show and a few other happenings

What a crazy, fun, exciting, super busy day we had yesterday! I'm still exhausted just thinking about it!
Lauryn was invited to a really fun birthday party at Build-A-Bear. We haven't been there since her own birthday last year, so she was really looking forward to it.

She had no trouble deciding on her new "friend"...she immediately chose a puppy and named her "Valentine". She said she chose the name Valentine because it is February. (We've come a long way from naming every single one of our babies Emily...just because!) I was even more impressed that she chose an outfit that went with the theme!

After the party, we quickly went back home to meet up with my mom and dad, my sister, and her boyfriend. We were celebrating my dad's birthday as well as taking the girls to see Elmo Live! My dad has given Lauryn tickets for Christmas every year. This was Allison's first year to join us, and she had a great time!

So, it's a little blurry. But I actually made it into a picture instead of being the one holding the camera!

Pink cotton candy. She had been talking about it for days.
You may wonder what my child is eating here.We discovered that cotton candy apparently has a specific texture that is not appealing to Allison Brooke. Instead, she prefers to squish it up into a little ball, and then nibble on it for about 10 minutes. Who knew there were two ways to eat cotton candy!?

Dancing!

More dancing!

Yes, the $10 Elmo balloons are still available at intermission. I think we counted about 8 that were on the ceiling before the show started up again.

Hoping the black and white would be more appealing than the washed out "too much flash" look. Again, I'm just proud to actually be IN the picture!

Abby Cadabby!!
When Grover walked down the aisle, Allison jumped from her chair and ran down our row to shake his hand! (That's her arm with the striped shirt!)
Oddly, it made me a little sentimental. It was just like the time my friend Stefany got amazing seats at a Kenny Chesney concert for my birthday and I touched his hand during the show. I get a little choked up thinking about how Allie must have felt the exact same way I did!

Although she didn't scream quite as loud as her mother.

So, we had a super busy day. But possibly the most exciting part happened at the very end. My sister Jessica and her boyfriend Joey got engaged!! We are so excited for them and excited for Joey to become a member of our family.

He has spent time with our family on multiple occasions, and proposed anyway.

I know true love when I see it!
