Altered Slate Tile
I used a slate from a discarded bird house as my base
I added Purple Acrylic to one side and dried - I then added some crackle medium and some Lilac acrylic and let the medium do its work - it crackled really well
I put texture paste through a stencil and let that dry
I stamped my main image on to cardstock using Archival ink, I put some packaging waste in an Embossing folder (bubbles) and put it through my vagabond - I stamped the sea horse with Archival and added the word Dream and some faux stitching with Sharpie. I added the acetate to the card with eyelets
I finished the piece with Word and Silhouette Rub Ons
I wanted to leave some of the slate showing because it has a texture all of its own

Through the Looking Glass AVJ
A Vintage Journey Challenge is all about Tim Holtz - his amazing techniques and wonderful products it's sponsored by Country View Crafts who generously give a £20 voucher which is randomly drawn. The Crew pick 3 pinworthy mentions each month and make stunning pieces of art to give inspiration
I have really enjoyed creating this canvas although I wasn't sure where I was going at first
I started by using the technique that Tim used on the February 2015 tag - I love this paper patchwork technique and used lots of pieces from my bits box.
I put some texture paste through a stencil and before it was dry added some Distress Embossing powder
I added some builders mesh to the corners and then set about gathering pieces for my focal image. I used Burlap, some of Tim's gorgeous Ideology fabric some bits from my stash, a Found Relative and Cabinet Card which I added some Chit Chat words too.
The "Glass" was created by using some acetate packaging which I embossed using an Embossing folder and my Vagabond. I added it to the Cabinet Card with Brads bowing it a little - I made a bow with Crinkle Ribbon and Peacock Feathers Distress Spray
The butterflies were made following Tim's Shattered Stains technique - Page 48 Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2
The fabric flower was inked with Distress Pens and added with Glossy Accents
I hope you can see the "glass" better in the pic
If you read through all that - thank you - it would be great if you left a comment and then I can visit you

Altered Canvas
I decided to do this canvas from the reverse side - I used tissue wrap to cover the canvas before colouring with Distress Spray
I added the photo which I had fussy cut and then aged and inked with Vintage photo distress ink
I die cut the flower from patterned paper using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die. I grunged the flower up a bit and put a brad through the centre. I placed this on top of an inked doyley and added it to my frame
I finished by adding metal charms to the opposite side
I am entering this piece in the following challenges

A Happy Life
My background was created with pieces of script, music and patterned papers
which were torn and added. I also added some tissue tape before I covered the whole page with a thin wash of Distress Paint.
I cut out and added my collaged pieces that were in my stash box and outlined them with charcoal
I did some background stamping, added some Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs and then finished with the splatters using a Tim Holtz texture fade and Black Gesso
Really like this page I hope you do too

Its in the cards
I created my background with Distress Paints and dry brushed Gesso
I then did my three cards using distress Inks, Stamping with Archival Ink, some collage pieces and some bits out of my stash
I mounted the cards on to black card stock and then added them
I then did some background stamping using foam stamps and Archival
The words were computer generated and mounted on black cardstock
I used my favourite colours Turquoise, Mustard and Green - I think these colours go together very well enhanced with Black and White
