Notice board for craft room

My notice board was looking quite the worse for wear so I set too and covered it. I put some batting on to it using spray glue. I then added my material - I pulled it taut and stapled it down on the back I used my heavy duty staple gun- continuing to pull taut and staple all the way around it, I then added some felted ribbons that Joy had given me using the same method - pull taut and staple. I finished off by adding some little pegs

Challenge 10 Tissue Wrap Flowers

Page 37 of Tims Compendium of Curiosities volume 2 shows the technique for Tissue Wrap flowers. I love this tissue wrap it is so versatile and can be used for loads of different things - it takes distress inks and stains very well and is a treat to use distress markers on

If you would like to join in - or just take a look - head on over to Linda's blog - the address is in my sidebar - you won't be disappointed

Sewing Machine cover

I am really pleased with this cover for my sewing machine. When its not covering the machine it lies flat on my desk and I'm able to put my machine on top of it - this seems to reduce the noise of my machine

Hexagon table cover

First time I have done paper piecing using hexagons and find it quite therapeutic

Covered craft room chair

I covered my craftroom chair having been inspired by this blog

I followed her instructions of first quilting 2 large pieces of material - followed by making one piece into a pillow type case and keep putting it on the chair inside out - pining and restitching several times until the desired shape was reached. the seat was done in much the same way and finished by stapling,

Love the bright colours on this material that I bought in Ikea

I covered an old cushion to match the chair because the red one I made recently clashed terribly

12 tags of 2012 - June

I enjoyed doing this tag following Tims tutorial on his blog and utilizing my own stuff where I didn't have the products Tim used.

The background was created with distress stains and the photo altered with distress inks using those special tip thingies lol!!! forgotten their name ! I coloured the flower with distress stains and used my tiny attacher to attach the number 3 and film strip.

I finished it off by adding the pen nib, sentiment plate and cash key tab.

The stamping on the background was done with Archival ink and the stamping on the photo with blak soot distress ink

I created my background with distress inks and water. Stamped my main image with Archival ink.I added some feathers using a piece of Friendly Plastic as a clasp.

Frida Forever is one of my fav stamps and is by A stamp in the Hand Co

Atc's

I've completed these atc's for a swap on the Lotstodo forum - the themes were - Time - Flowers - Flight - Gents

I've used Distress Inks, stamps, quotes and bits and pieces out of my stash to complete them

12 tags of 2012 - May

I love the techniques Tim used to complete the May tag.

I started by adding some colour to my tag with distress inks

I then added some dressmaking pattern with mod podge. I stamped the mannequin (I made the stamp using dies and my vagabond) and the stamped the bobbin on to spare card, cut it out and added some cotton. I then machine stitched a piece of tape measure to the side fastened to this I added a cash key which I had added a letter and set with Glossy accents.

My little flowers were dropped into UTEE in my melt pot - love the way it makes them look porcelain. The "vase" was made by sawing a bobbin in half before inking it.

Graeme's and Dawns quilt

I've completed this quilt for Graeme and Dawn - Dawn loves autumnal colours, peach, blue and red so I have managed, I think, to add them all - Dawn hasn't seen the quilt as it has progressed so I hope she likes it

Three Muses Challenge/Sunday Stamper

The challenge this week on the Three Muses had the theme Hats/Crowns Wings and Things and the challenge on Sunday Stamper Queens and Crowns - so I think this fits the bill for both

I finished off by adding my bingo marker, some old lace which had been inked and attaching a little charm with a ring.

The background was created with distress inks and the spritz and flick technique - love that technique!! The main image is from Lisas altered art I sat him on a bench and added wings and a hat before outlining him in charcoal. The number 3 is a grungeboard number inked and outlined. The little bird is from Tims Visual artistry set. I stamped it and clear embossed it. The quote is one of my favourites and was stamped inked and outlined. Tiled Hanger

I started my piece by putting some mountboard through my zyron. I then made the tiles - embossing, stamping, heat embossing, inking, distressing, glossy accents, alcohol inking and generally having a great time. I added some buttons and pieces of Ideology. When I was happy with the layout I sprinkled bedazzles in all the areas that were left and then run my brayer over so they would stick to the backing
