Created By Hand - Heart Die Cuts

I created this page using the challenge from Created by Hand. My background was created with pan pastels and white gesso. The main image was transferred using mod podge - I embellished her with a crown and wings and outlined her with charcoal. I added my hearts and outlined them after adding some texture to my page with gesso using lego pieces and a credit card. I finished off with a little random stamping and then adding my words and journalling

Another journal page

Background - coat of gesso then various distress inks - splashes of water for effect. Added texture with pieces of lego and distress inks played about with the hands - love them and had lots of fun. Added my main image which I outlined with charcoal and then burbished. added some words here and there and finished off by journalling which I did with Staedler fineliner pen.

The challenge this week on Try it on Tuesday is to alter a baked bean tin. I covered my tin with paper using Anita's tacky i then added my lettering - cut from one of Tim Holtz pads. I used my cropodile to put soem holes around the top through which i put some rings and dangled pen nibs and bits and pieces. A great tub for some of my brushes.

Twas a nice change to spend a little time away from my journalling

Journal page - Take a word Blue

I completed this page yesterday I used gesso and acrylics put on with credit card for my background - I added texture by scraping into the paint with the end of my brush, I added some stencilling and some cup marks then added my image which I had cut out of paper - I added details to the image and shadowed her with charcoal before adding the wings which I had cut from the page of an old French book that Shairon kindly sent me. I added my words using Tim Holt spone stamps and Stazon. I highlighted the words with a Posca pen. I am adding this page to the "Take a Word" challenge which, this week, has the word "Blue"

Another page that I've really enjoyed - started with a layer of gesso then added acrylics with an old credit card - dried and added more layers - added some circles with gesso and a pot lid. Then added my wording - used Tim Holtz foam stamps and distress ink for these. Shadowed them with sakura pens. Added the border to the side, then the little girl which I shadowed with charcoal - did some random stamping with tapestry stamps and distress inks. Finished off by doing my journalling.

Journal pages

Its been a long time since I blogged - in fact its been a long time since I had anything to blog !!!!! My hubby is really ill and for the last 2 months we have been back and forewards to various hospitals so I haven't had the time or the inclination to get any artwork done. I finished off this double page in my journal the other day and am hoping now to be able to spend a little time in my craftroom where I find I can sometimes have peace of mind if only for a while

Wedding Album - Take a Word

this is the album I've altered to hold some of Dawn and Graemes wedding photo's. I bought an album, took it to pieces and set about recovering it. I added some backing to give it a bit more depth then used Calico to make a pillowcase type cover. before the cover was stitched together I added all sorts of bits and pieces. A lace doyley was added and lace was added to the top, bottom and sides to create a frame. My main square was done with some material and pieces that I had received from Susie Q. I did lots of random stitching, added some rub ons, lots of hearts, flowers and buttons and found objects. After I had put it all back together I added some ruffled nylon down the spine. They haven't seen it yet - hope they like it

This album falls in nicely with the Take a Word challenge which is "Album"

Patchwork Quilt

At long last my quilt is finished and I'm delighted with it. Every square was hand stitched and then hand quilted. I must say a huge thank you to Joy who gave me instructions every step of the way, without which I would never have attempted such a huge project. I'm now very kean to do another !!!!! but have some other projects to do first.

Arches

Alison is hosting the Arches swap on the Lotstodo forum this month - the theme was "Open"

I used gesso and acrylics to add colour to my background - I then did a bit of stencil doodling. The little girl images are from Lisa's Altered Art and the lady cut from a magazine. I added some bits to the lady - outlined her and then stamped my wording, cut it out, added it and outlined it. The little girls were grounded on to scrap pieces that I had cut, they were outlined and then the words were added and outlined. I finished all 3 arches by inking the edges.

Added some colour to a piece of notepad waste with sprays and adhered again with beeswax. Colored a grunge paper hinge with distress inks - added clear embossing powder and used my hammer to add texture. Printed some wording on PC and added these using the same method

I stamped, cut out and coloured car (pan pastels). Then cut out image (Lisa's altered art) and attached to canvas after grounding on scrap paper. I outlined the images with Black Unipen, printed and cut out wording, attached and outlined

The colour inspiration for this piece was Cream, Green, Burgandy and a touch of white. I feel I have achieved this
