Stampin B's and CCEE Challenges

Can you believe that ONCE AGAIN I was able to combine my two Thursday challenge team cards.  Maybe I should play the lottery!!!

CCEE10   Challenge
Hostess -- Tosh
Sketch

Stampin B's Challenge
Hostess -- Faith
Scene

Okay.....I have to admit that I took liberties with the CCEE sketch this week.  However, it was not intentional.....it was my weak peepers at work.  In the stamp cave, my printout of the sketch was very soft in color and I didn't catch all the color variations. That is my story and I am sticking to it.  I also went with a square card instead of an A-2 card.  We really are pretty flexible, so this is a VERY FLEXIBLE use of the sketch.  Now that I have noticed my errors, I will definitely try this sketch again in ALL ITS GLORY.  However, if someone is giving me the BUZZER, please at least play a HAPPY tune with it!!!!

And as long as I am apologizing, may as well also note that after I posted this card I got to thinking about the Stampin B's part of this and I may have goofed there too.  Wonder if I was supposed to create my OWN scene.  Oh well....there are no rules so how can I be accused of breaking them....LOL!!!

My image is by Innovative Stamp Creations.

Now....forget about my foibles....and move on the the wonders of both these teams by using the following links.  AND...please play along with us.......we love to see what YOU create!!!

Catch Up Tuesday......

Last Week's Sketch Challenge Card

I used one of my fav stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations for the main beach panel.  The sentiment is by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Muddamark Tea Party Challenge

Can you believe it??!!  I made a ONE layer card.......!!!  I am amazed myself.

We were asked to keep our cards simple with no embellishments, ribbons, layers, etc.  What appears to be brads on my card are flat stickers.  This  PI image is by MFT.  I pierced and dry embossed.  Simple, simple!!!

On a personal note, I have had a fab time the past few days.  Had dinner with a friend's family on Sunday, celebrating my godchild's wife's birthday.  So nice to catch up with them all.  Then had dinner out last night with a friend AND a stamper friend who I do not see very often.  Good food and good stamping talk.  Then today, the Old Farts (plus some extended members) had a wonderful lunch at a fine eatery out in the countryside.  Laughter, chatter, friendly teasing, and love were the highlights of the day!!!

One of our guests was the daughter of one of the Old Farts who was visitiing from California.  She happens to have been a forner student of mine (and many of the others there), and is now a dear friend herself.  She is a chef at a prison and has developed a culinary program for select convicts.  It is absolutely amazing to hear of her success in getting some of her students so motivated that on release, they go to school, get good jobs, and stay out of the prison system.  You go, girl!!!  Truly a person making a difference in this world!!

Now....I think I actually have to cook for myself tomorrow....lol!!!!

Stampin B's Challenge #8 - - - Flowers

I can just imagine some of the comments as people look at this card. "Gosh, I didn't think Joanne did delicate cards??" "Is this really jojot's card???" Yep, it is my card, and yep, on occasion I have been known to do a delicate card. Well, our challenge from Nancyruth this week was to use flowers. Since I was unsure on whether that could be image or primas, I used both to make sure I had the challenge covered. By coincidence, the image fit inside this paper pierced layer I had just finished a day or so ago. I used an Ornare template to do this. I kept the card pretty simple so attention would be on the image and the piercing, rather than on the color and design. I really love this card even though it is not really my typical style.

Please stop in at the Stampin B's Blog to see the other team member's challenge cards and to see details on how you can play right along with us.

Well, here in Connecticut we continue to be brisk and damp. Here at our house we REFUSE to turn the heat back on, which is why I sit here with a turtleneck and a thick hoodie on, still chilled.....lol!!!!

Had a nice day today. Went to the mall and out to lunch with a dear friend. Shared stories and laughs.......a perfect outing!!! Hope you found reason for joy in your day!!!
