The CCEE Gets in a Musical Spirit
Lynn and Liz, our CCEE Stampers hostesses for October, informed us that this month is also International Drum Month. They asked us to make a card using a drum or other musical instrument to celebrate music as the international language. I just love the idea of this. I have done a bit of traveling over the years and have found myself in situations where I find myself unable to communicate as I do not speak any language other than English. However, whenever the situation involved music, it seemed to bring us together whether the lyrics were in Polish, Japanese, or any other language.
This is the only musical instrument stamp I have. I bought it as I have a dear friend who is a master on the saxophone This will be his birthday card for next August.....and I know he will LOVE it.....
Be sure to see the musical gallery at the CCEE Blog.

Crazies Get Inspired by Music
Kristine, our Crazy4Challenges hostess for February, has given us a musical inspiration for this week. Our card/project can be inspired by a song, an artist, an instrument, music notes, or whatever way music inspires you.
I went with Elvis. The image comes from an unidentified stamp. The sentiment comes from an Elvis cling stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms.
Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the fab music inspired creations.

The Crazies Call It a Year with Their Favs
The Crazy4Challenges DT will be taking a rest for the rest of 2012. We will celebrate, relax, and rejuvenate AND return on the first Saturday of 2013. Doesn't it just seem like yesterday that we were in fear of what would happen with the changes of the centuries....ya know.....Y2K?????
Anyhoooooo....our challenge this week was to use our favorite (or one of our favorite) image of the holiday season. For me it was a toss up between this silhouette image and my cardinal image. Those images seemed to show up most often as I was addressing my cards recently.
Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to be inspired by the talents and fav images of the DT members.

A Tardy CAS Totally Stampalicious Monday
Well....real life has been CRAZY.....good crazy, but still crazy......and that is why I am late with this week's Totally Stampalicious Monday post. Our challenge this week was to incorporate something musical into our card. Well, I use this sketch from the CAS Challenge on SCS to make this quick one. It is using a new set from Totally Stampalicious from their new line of stamps by Sylvia Zet.
Please, if you have the time, be sure to check out the DT's creations on the TS Blog. I am sure you will be inspired.

Blog Hop Info and The King
Today Mark's Finest Papers is releasing its newest sets AND having a blog hop. Be sure to go HERE to begin the hop. For my card I used the new set called Bearded Iris. This is one gorgeous set.....and irises can be so many wonderful colors. Now, after checking out the rest of my post (of course I want you to see it all....lol!!!), be sure to go to Mark's Finest Papers Blog to begin the blog hop.
The Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS today involves making cards with guitars. The destination for our cards this week is someone who loves guitars. Well, the only guitar image I have is a stamp of Elvis's guitar, so I went with that. The stamps used on this card are mostly from the now defunct Cornish Heritage Farms. A couple of others were bought online years ago and have no company name on the stamps.
I must admiit that for a change I REALLY like the way this card came out....hope the recipient feels the same way.

Time for my Thursday Challenges
Well.....today I was the hostess for both of my Thursday Challenge Teams......if I had thought ahead I would have done two challenges I could easily combine.....however...........this week I have TWO cards for you.
My Elvis card, with images from the now defunct Cornish Heritage Farms, is for the Stampin B's challenge. I asked the team to Strike Up the Band and do something music related. Well, I grew up with rock and roll and Elvis, so that was my inspiration and motivation.
My challenge for the CCEE Stampers Challenge was related to the weather......not the weather on any particular day, but to honor the Winds of March by using swirls in some way on their creations.
I used this sweet ocean-inspired stamp set that my dear friend, Charlene gave me. On her visit to an Archiver's store she thought of me when she saw this Archiver's exclusive set and I just LOVE it.......cuz, just in case you didn't know, I love being near the ocean....it is where I find peace and tranquility. Thanks again, Ms. Bertie!!!!
My swirls can be found on the background in the form of dry embossing with my CB.
Now.....that is what I have for you today.....however....there is more for you to see at the blogs for both these fabulous teams...so here are the links to help you 'travel' to some great creations.

Challenge Cards for My Stash
Had a bit of laundry to do today so since the laundry area is near the stamp cave, I kept busy in two ways.....clean clothes and Christmas cards. Hope you enjoy the fruits of one of my labors.
This card was done for the Twisted Sketches Challenge. I used stamps from a set soon to release from Mark's Finest papers. Kept it pretty simple....even refrained from adding brads...lol!!!!
This card was done with the Sensational Saturday Sketch Challenge. I used a Flourishes set and a MS punch.
This third card was also done with a Flourishes set. It was done for two challenges......The Christmas Card Challenge (inspired by the tree and colors of the season) and the Sentimental Sunday Sketch.
This next 'BLUE SANTA" was made for the Flourishes Challenge which, obviously, was to make a car using blues. Sorry, Santa....lol!! Again, I used a Flourishes set.
This last one was done for Sketch Saturday. It was originally a squarish sketch, but I made it into an A-2 sized card. The sentiment is from an SU set and I forgot to write down the company of the trees. If you need to know, just ask in a comment.
Thanks for stopping in to visit. Hope you are having a sensational Sunday!!!

Crazy4Challenges and Speedy's Friends Challenges
Crazy4Challenges -- C4C50
A card related to music....with extra points for Elvis!!
Hostess -- Frances
I am so thrilled that I bought many of their Elvis stamps before Cornish Heritage Farms decided to close. I don't have ALL of them, but I do have several. This one I think is called Blue Christmas, but decided I didn't want to wish people a 'blue' Christmas, so I computer generated this saying. Whaddayatink????
Now be sure to go see the other Crazies to see what musical inspiration shows up on their fab creations.

Think Floral
Thoughts of flowers brought to mind this set by Mark's Finest Papers. Then thoughts went to this sketch I saw Frances use some weeks back. Brought the two thoughts together and this card went together pretty easity. I did try a touch of some fancy piercing on this one.....otherwise, I think you can figure this out for yourself.
Now you really must take some time to go see the 'garden of delight' awaiting you at the following links.

A Saxy Sketch
A dear friend who happens to be a sax player is having a birthday this week so I used today's Sketch Challenge on SCS to get his birthday card done. Not much to say about this one. I do have the name of the stamp company downstairs, but forgot it right now. If you need to know, just say so in a comment.
Well.....I think the plumber, nice as he is, is finally done his work here. Let's hope for no more water problems.
I have an eye procedure tomorrow so I have schedulted my Stampin B's card for this week, but not really sure when I'll be stamping again. So, if I am quiet for a day or two, that will be why. Hopefully all goes well and I'll be back up and stampin' soon........
Have a great day!!!!
