Sky Meets Sea

One evening I set out on a stroll by the seashore...

It was peaceful at the beach...

I found a bottle but there was no message inside...

Then for a while I thought I had the descending sun trapped inside the bulb...

After that the soft colors of the setting sun captivated me...

Then I played with the silver waves until the light faded away.

Shades of Green

"To be native is to have been born in the area in question; but native also designates those whose ancestors were from the area..."

I came across a website where some famous people whose native is Mangalore are listed.
~~~
Driving around Mangalore is a delight. The sights are so diverse throughout and in the outskirts of the city, almost at every bend there is a beautiful scenery to enjoy. It is a great place to soak in the greenery, especially so during and after the monsoons.
These miles and miles of land full of greenery is a soothing sight. Green in nature is one of my preferred colours. So also the pure whiteness around snow clad mountains. But then I also like the fiery red, orange and yellow of autumn.
Which is your favourite colour adorning nature?
Singing in the Rain
Following a little more travels and just having recovered from a bout of flu, I’m here. I wonder if the flu had anything to do with getting soaked in the rains in Lonavala? Oh, but the feeling of getting drenched in the showers was exhilarating and definitely worth it. Certainly so for one who is presently tolerating temperature in the range of 45 to 50 degrees Centigrade these days, but thankfully in the sanctuary of air-conditioned surroundings!
So..
I travelled this time to Mangalore, Mumbai (I still miss the byname Bombay) and a few places in the Sahyadhri range of the Western Ghats.
The range is home to hill stations like Matheran, Lonavala, Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, Amboli Ghat within Maharashtra, some of which I've been to. It
brought back few memories of my last year’s summer trip to Matheran and earlier visits to Lonavala-Khandala but I find monsoon is a fine time to enjoy the Sahyadhris. More details in posts to follow.
Here’s a coup dóeil:
Dragonfly
Can you think of a suitable caption for this picture?
I can think of Lost in Nature and The Dragonfly Can't Disturb.
What would you suggest?
Do click on the image - it's worth a glance!
Oh, dragonfly, sweet little dragonfly;
Around lovers you linger,then off you fly;
With the beat of your iridescent wings;
Messages of cheer along you bring.
Exciting and random are your flights;
You soar high above, just like the kites;
Take me to your world, so cool and high;
You look so glorious against the sky.
In the air, like a bird, you are free;
Dancing with delight and filled with glee;
Joy, sorrow, euphoria and strife;
Only a day, yet a full life !
