Biker Chick

Sunday, March 4, 2018

We are working on getting another biker in the house
Little was more than ready to pull her "big girl" bike out of storage
Our street isn't the best place for biking so we loaded it into the car and headed for the park
This awesome park is about 10 minutes from our house, just over the bottom bridge
There are all sorts of "roads" around the park and G was happy to pedal away
Hopefully we can get the training wheels off before to long and away she'll go

Living in Brasil has perks
To name one of my favorites...
It never gets cold
which means countless bike rides for a wimp like me that can't handle the cold
Most mornings Rob and & take along our buddy
It used to be two buddies but J outgrew the trailer

One of G's favorite stops
It's usually our turnaround point
Her reward is getting to drive the train for a few minutes
while Rob and I stretch and rest

One of the very best parts of living in Brasil is the weather
It can't be beat
except this week when we've had rain almost everyday...but it's needed
Typically I can get out on my bike 2-3 times a week, every week
without having to wear warm socks, jacket, long pants, etc
it's the best for this sun loving girl

Bits and Pieces

M&M's even exist in Brasil

Nasty corner of our driveway that has punctured 2 holes in our van tire.  Finding a replacement has been an ordeal.

Picked some beautiful fennel from the Embassy gardens this past week

Rob has ridden into work a few times with the princess.  This particular morning she had woke up super early so her bike ride included a little snooze in the trailer

Checking out pre-schools with my baby

Took the older three to see Beauty & the Beast.  It's a strange feeling to watch a movie in Brasil.  You walk into the theater and feel like you are being transported back to the USA.  The movies are in English, popcorn and sodas are just as large and it's just an odd feeling.

Girlies enjoying their new favorite treat, acai while watching Sam's volleyball team compete in a tournament

Sam's team took third place.  In the semi-final they came within 1 point of beating the best team.  It came down to a bad call and speculation that the ref was friends with someone on the other team.  Just another day in Brasil :)
