Homeless Beads Placed In Good Homes!

I haven't done a bead post in a while... Life has been crazy...just running all the time. But, today is a torch day! Whooo Hooo!

I finally broke down and took apart the only MASSIVE set I've ever made... These are from rare / extinct z99 glass and the set was so large, I had it prices around $150... well, selling off the parts, I should make even more money. But it breaks my heart that they are all slowly going to separate homes...

I called this set 'One Shade of Grey.' LOL:

I've done several remakes on this one:

Still Selling in the Facebook Groups!

Still Chugging Along

Happy New Year! I'm still chugging along... In case you haven't heard, no surgery for me. Mom brought me a mild swine flu for the holidays! No surgery for the congested one! And I've been home for so long with no work... I can't take any more time off. So, six more months of pain for me!

In the good news department, I'm now helping out with a new Facebook Sales Group: Glass Beads for Sale. More about that later.

I actually sold this crystal breast cancer goddess there.  I don't know that I would have chosen the pink crystals on my own...but the customer wanted them and in the end, I really liked them. I was trying to pick out a necklace here... we went with the one to the right of the bead.

Here's a close up... I love the little butterfly at the bottom.
Anyway, most days you can find three or four of my listings on Facebook. When I'm not teaching and have time, I link to the them from the fan page.

Vet Relief Trunk Show!

I incurred a huge vet bill the day Mabel got sick. More than I make in TWO months! And I've been so deep in grief, I haven't been making beads or listing.

One my pet blogger friends decided to host an auction on my behalf and gathered donations from blogville and that goes live tomorrow. There are lots of pet themed items there! The auction is HERE.

That got me in gear... I make stuff... I should donate to my own benefit, right??? Well, as my luck goes, my favorite sales venue for in person sales burned to the ground on Mother's Day! And as I'm not teaching as much anymore... no students and they lay you off! I've decided to liquidate my show stock to pay off the vet!

The show is LIVE NOW!  Categories and links are as follows:

Custom Work

Now that tax time if finally put to bed, I'm having to catch up on my custom work.

I sold  a seashell on Lampwork Beads For Sale. My customer wanted me to wire wrap it. Here it is, ready to go:

My college bestie's daughter, who I've known since she was a few weeks old, asked me to make a pendant for her best friend. The girls are into the virtual reality game SIMS and wanted a "plumb bob" which is green when a player is active in the game. This is a little simple for my tastes but the girlie seems happy with it:

I also got to torch a bit and made some prototypes for a memorial glass bead and one little kitty cat. You'll get to see those soon..

Bellflower Earrings

To me, the shape of a bellflower pressed glass headpin lends itself perfectly to earrings!

Last week, an old friend purchased a set of purple bellflowers as a gift for her mom - who I love and adore! As the bellflowers were a birthday gift, I had to whip up something a little extra for Mom Dianne's special day. She LOVES purple, btw:

I had the two little lavender butterflys and I always have some Swarkie bicones on hand. I really love how they came out!

Here's another set of earrings I made from some discontinued CIM glass (Sigh... Isn't that always the case with CIM... fall in love and it's no longer made or not the same color...ugh!)
The earrings above are available here. Anyone ordering before 2/15/14, will get a refund on shipping! ;-)

Boobie Beads Doing Good

I heard from a customer recently who orders my boobie beads. Regina is making boobie bracelets. Check 'em out:

Aren't they just adorable??? And I just love the special card she makes to go with them:

The bracelets are $15 and a portion of the proceeds ($5) of each bracelet will be donated to breast cancer, Avon and Susan G Komen walk. Regina is selling these by email at the moment. You can reach her here.

I just love that my little boobies are out in the world making people happy!

Custom Work Keeping Me Busy

Good Morning! My wire work class at Glendale College was AWESOME this past Saturday! Everyone got it and made a lovely bracelet and earrings! It was such a fun group! And none had tried wire before! Eight new wire workers out in the world now!

These custom boobie pendants went to Sweden!

My 2nd bakery show was a bust. Zero sales. I had pre-arranged to sell an earring display, so by the time I paid my breakfast / lunch tab, I had a profit of $8. Well, I always thought my stuff was a little to ritzy for this area. But it was January...people are in shock paying off Christmas. There was almost NO promotion this time. It was cloudy and breezy. We had one less vendor so the sidewalk didn't look as full. I left early because my sinuses were killing me. It was an experiment. C'est la vie! I know I'm going to busy with weekend classes for the next several months so maybe I'll try again before Mother's Day.

I still feel good about it. I always share the show with the fan page for our local paper. This time, they showed up and took pics! And, asked me to write about my Memorial Glass Beads! So that's really good!

 Scenes from the Bakery Show

And I made significant progress on a bracelet I've been doodling with for years!

I still have a couple of custom orders to wrap up and I'm waiting and waiting for the next steps in my "real job hunt." I'm told I just need the final hiring appointment but... no word as to when that will be. 8-/

Sidewalk Sale Sunday

Sorry to go all radio silent on you after so many posts in a row... The show was more wonderful than I expected and I've been a busy bee packing and shipping and still have more to send! More on all that later but I wanted to mention that I will be having a live and in person show this Sunday in my hometown of Sunland at the Back Door Bakery.
The Back Door Bakery is at 8668 Foothill. I will be bringing lots of versions of these:
Would you believe I had two in my show and I sold FIVE???

I will be bringing more jewelry than beads as I'm hoping that's what will sell well  at Christmas. But I will fill in with come "conversation starter" beads:
