Hey there! Back with a card for The Craft's Meow's birthday celebration and I just squeakin' in with this one. I had hoped to get the card done yesterday, but unfortunately the new TCM stamps I had ordered did not land in my mailbox like I had hoped. Finally they arrived this afternoon! Once I had then in my hot little hands I went to work.
For this particular TCM challenge we were given a birthday inspiration photo and asked to make a birthday card. I decided to go with some of the bright cheerful colors that can be found in the inspiration photo. My card actually used three different TCM sets: Fly Free, Butterfly Kisses & Simply Delightful. The layout for my card comes from this week's Deconstructed Sketch. All the patterned papers are from Stampin Up!. I have way too much SU! patterned paper and so I'm on a mission to use them up. I have noticed lately that a lot of people are finishing the interiors of their cards and so I thought I would give it a try with this card. I kept it pretty simple, though.
Thanks for stopping by....

ODBDSLC102 - Your Favorite ODBD Stamps
Hey there!! Happy Saturday... its time for another ODBD Shining the Light challenge! Well...ODBD's birthday month is coming to a close (boo hoo!). And like all the challenges this month we want you to use your ODBD stamps on your project, but this time the team is challenging you to use your FAVORITE ODBD stamps.
Now, to be honest with you I absolutely LOVE all my ODBD stamps, so it was really hard for me to choose my favorite, but there is one stamp set that has just a slight edge over the rest and that is the set "As You Graduate". When I first saw this set I fell in love with the beautiful main image showing a forested path. Then I read the sentiments and knew I had to have it for my collection. I especially love the quote from Corrie ten Boom. I stamped the main image using Hero Art's Punch chalk ink and then decided to cut the image in half on the diagonal. I didn't realize that I would be creating a bit of a problem for myself! I can't tell you how many pink triangles of cardstock I ended up with making and in the end I simply matted the two pieces on a single piece of cardstock!! The sentiment was stamped using Memento Bamboo Leaves and then die cut using a Spellbinders Label 11. Three brads from the This & That line finished things off.
While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on most of our challenges, this month it is an Our Daily Bread Designs only challenge month in honor of the ODBD 4th Anniversary. Three or more of our participants will be chosen for the Shining the Light Award . In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Friday, April 6th at 8 a.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any otheronline gallery , please use the keyword is ODBDSLC102. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by..... please take some time to check out the beautiful projects created by my fellow "sticks" Lori, Jan Marie, Jan, Chris, Kathy, and Sabrina! To join in the fun, please click here.

My card today was made using the ODBD set He Will Rise! What a beautiful stamp set!! I went with a grey, white and black combo for my card. The bit of pattered paper that I used is some Stampin Up! designer paper. I stamped the three crosses image on white cardstock using London Fog ink and then overstamped the verse using Tuxedo Black ink. The image was then diecut using a Spellbinders plain circle die. I cut a second plain circle from grey cardstock as a mat for the first circle. White cardstock as run through my Big Shot using a SU! embossing folder Lattice Square. Rows of Want2Scrap bling were added to each side of the patterned paper strip. I finished off the card with a white bow and a grey rose. Thanks for stopping by... now off you go to the blog of the wildly talented Angie! I know she will knock your socks off with her creation!!

find joy every day...
Hey there!! Have a card for this week's ColourQ challenge... another absolutely fun color combo!! The layout is another fabulous sketch from the super talented Chupa! All the stamps are from Hero Arts.
I started by stamping the white panel with the Hero Arts Classic Fabric Design background stamp using Stampin Up!'s Certain Celery ink. I layered some white lace ribbon on top to soften the edge of the stamping. The flowers were created using the Hero Arts/Sizzix stamp and die set Bold Pop Designs. Two flowers were stamped using SU!'s Melon Mambo ink and one flower stamped using Memento Dandelion ink. The flowers were then die cut using the matching flower dies. Love those Sizzix dies that match the Hero Arts stamps... makes cutting out the flowers a complete snap!! I don't mind fussy cutting, but it sure is nice to be able to just get the job done with one pass through your die cutting machine!! Some buttons were added to the centers of the flower for a more finished look. The sentiment was stamped using Tuxedo Black ink.
Thanks for stopping by....

Howdy... Sassy Girl!!
Second post today... just had to share a couple of cards that I have made using the super adorable Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite Things. I cannot get enough of these cute little girls!!
First up is a card I made using the new PI set Cute-a-tude. I stamped the little girl on cream cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her with Copic markers. I stamped her on some cute patterned paper from Echo Park (This & That line) and then trimmed out her dress which was adhered to the main image. Some additional papers from the This & That pad were used for the back ground papers and to make the flowers. The flowers were made using two MFT Die-namics dies... Royal Rose die & Rolled Scallop Flower. And yay!! I think I'm finally getting the hang of making those rolled flowers. I decided to use my quilling tool to help me roll them up and it works like a charm... wondering to myself why I didn't try it alooong time ago!!! The layout for the card comes from this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge sketch (MFTWSC64).
I made the second card using the new PI Cowgirl set. This set was part of a MFT PI VIP collection and it came with the companion set Cowboy and the cutest die set called Country Charms. This die allows you to cut a horseshoe, hat, boot & star charm... how cool is that?? The papers I used are from the Cosmo Cricket Wanted 6x6 pad. Lots of paper piecing was done for this little country charmer! To finish off the card I used a couple of the charms from the die set. This card was made using the Wednesday Sketch challenge sketch from the previous week (MFTWSC63).

Two Roads....
Hey there!! Happy Sunday... I'm here with my card for this week's Less is More challenge. Chrissie and Mandi have challenged us this week to use a "recipe": find three previous Less is More challenges and combine then on your card.
As I pondered the extensive list of past LIM challenges I knew that whatever three challenges I chose, they must work with the quote I wanted to use. Last week Our Daily Bread Designs released its 4th Anniversary collection of scripture, quotes and sentiments. As a member fo the ODBD challenge team I got the opportunity to contribute to this collection. My contribution was the beautiful quote from Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken", which can be found in Quote Collection 1. I absolutely love the way Kelley, the owner of ODBD, designed the stamp and the font that she used. For my card I wanted to just let the quote take center stage and shine. So, the three LIM challenges I chose are: Week 15 - embossing; Week 49 - predominately purple and Week 55 - die cuts. The image was stamped on white cardstock using dark purple ink and die cut using a Spellbinders plain rectangle die. The largest die from the same set (I think large plain rectangles) was then used to emboss a frame on to the front of the purple card base. I chose to use a purple card base because I felt it would allow the sentiment to stand out even more than on a white card base. So... instead of lots of white space, I have lots of purple space...hee!! The sentiment panel was then adhered using foam dimensionals. Super clean and super simple!!

Hey!!! I'm baaacck!! And this time I have a card for the March Sketch For You To Try challenge. It has been super fun being a guest designer for SFYTT this month! If you have never given Jen's sketch challenge a try, you really should. To find out all the details, please click here to be taken to the original post. This month, SFYTT is being sponsored by The Craft's Meow! Check out their blog to see the brand new stamps that have just been released by The Craft's Meow... they are all super yummy!!!
For this card I used the beautiful Craft's Meow set: Fly Free. I used the beautiful Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze 6x6 pad for all the papers. I just love the color combo of yellow, grey, black and white. So very elegant! I stamped the birdcage using Memento London Fog and then trimmed it out. Some Diamond Stickles was added to the little butterfly on the cage door. The sentiment was stamped using Tuxedo Black ink and matted with black cardstock. I little crystal flourish from Recollections finished off the card. A very faithful reading of this month's sketch.
Thanks for stopping by... and thanks to Jen for asking me to be a guest designer this month! I'm looking forward to see what next month's sketch will be!!

Hey there!! It's Saturday and that means time for another ODBD Shining the Light challenge!! I had planned on trying the faux silk technique, but unfortunately I kinda ran out of time and so I used some silk ribbon on my card. Thankfully many of my fellow breadsticks were able to create cards using the technique so you will have lots of amazing creations to review. The stamps are from the ODBD set Faithful Friend which was released this month. My color choices were determined by the gorgeous Stampin Up! papers that I used. The papers are from a limited edition paper pack that was only available during SU!'s annual Sale-A-Bration promotion. So wishing I could get my hands on another paper pack, but alas I cannot. Anywhoo... the layout for the card comes from this week's Mojo Monday sketch.
Thanks for stopping by....please take some time to check out the
beautiful projects created by my fellow "sticks" Lori, Jan

warm wishes...
Hey there!! Here with a card for a couple of challenges: CASE Study and ColourQ. I love ColourQ because Arielle sure knows how to pick some fantastic color combos. But this week's combo sure was a challenge for me. I think what I finally came up with combines the colors fairly well, but I'm still a bit iffy about it. Combining it with this week's CASE Study challenge did help me out immensely, though. I really liked the layout of March muse, Laura's card and so decided to play along.
Today I got happy mail in the form of some Hero Arts stamps! One of them is the beautiful botanical stamp called Fleurettes. I wanted that stamp the moment I laid eyes on it and now it is finally mine. I can't wait to color it up with some Copic markers. Today I simply inked it up with some pale lavender ink (SU!'s Wisteria Wonder) and stamped it on white cardstock. The sentiment, also from Hero Arts, was stamped using a dark purplish sort of color (SU!'s Rich Razzleberry), which I was afraid would overwhelm the lavendar, but I think the two work well together given the way I stamped each image. I finished off the card with a row of scallops in pale aqua and turquoise cardstock and a few turquoise gems. Another very simple card. But, you know what... there is nothing wrong with simple!!
Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments....

A Tulip....
Hey there!! Hope your week is going well. Our crazy weather continues here in W. Washington. Today we had high winds and rain! The dog and I had quite the time bucking that wind on our morning walk!
Anywhoo... all that yucky weather makes for a perfect day to stay inside and do some crafting and so that's what I did. I finally got my card for TESC154 done. I combined it with the current color combo from CR84FN to make a really bright and cheerful card (you might want to put on sunglasses!). As I was rummaging through my stuff I came across this pack of designer paper I had purchased from Stampin Up! And as I paged through the sheets I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the CR84FN colors were contained in that one pack!! That made my job easier for sure!! I just recently got some new TE stamps, one being the Spring Tulips set and I definitely wanted to ink it up. I stamped the single tulip from the set on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, colored the stem with Copic marker YG03 and then trimmed out. The tulip head was stamped on some of the patterned paper, trimmed out and adhered to the main tulip image. The circle was die cut using a plain Spellbinders circle die and a Spellbinders Lacey circle die. After putting all the paper elements of the card together I finished the card off with the little flower buttons. A very faithful rendition of the sketch.

Hoo Loves You???
Hey there!! Happy Sunday! What a crazy weekend we have had here in W. Washington. Yesterday it rained, then snowed, and then rained!! All in the space of about 2 hours!! The sun came out for a few hours and then it was back to rain. Now it is raining, again... ugh!! Oh well... that is Washington!
Have a cheerful little card for two challenges: Less is More and the Craft's Meow birthday celebration sketch challenge. This week at Less is More Chrissie and Mandi are asking us to do some masking. I don't often do masking and I'm not entirely sure why because it is super easy to do. Anywhoo... for my card I used the cute Craft's Meow set "Owl Be Thinking of You". I stamped the little girl owl using Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock. I then stamped her again on some Eclispe tape (the best stuff for masking!), trimmed her out and then placed the mask over the original image. I then stamped the boy owl so that he is positioned slightly behind his gal. Both were colored with Copic markers (not the best coloring job, either). There is a little image of hearts in the set and I stamped that above the owls, colored then with markers and then added some Diamond Stickles. The image was die cut with a Spellbinders circle die, as was the mat. I used a scrap of paper from the Scrap Cake "My Private Happiness" pad to mat the central panel. The little banner was created by simply stamping the sentiment on a .5" x 5.5" strip that was scored at 1" from either end, folded and then trimmed to created the fishtail on either end. Pretty simple card with lots of white space which should please Chrissie & Mandi. As indicated above, this card is also for the Craft's Meow birthday celebration sketch challenge. The Craft's Meow is celebrating it's first birthday March 17th - 20th. In addition to providing sneak peeks of their new stamp sets, they are having lots of giveaways and challenges. Make sure you check it out!

Daffodils....
Hey there!!! Here with a card for the current Timeless Tuesday challenge. This week the super talented Cindy is hosting the challenge and she has asked that we use scallops and lace on our projects. When I saw the new Cardabilities sketch I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.
I used several Flourishes sets for this card (Year of Flowers 1, Orchids & Country Charm Borders). The patterned papers are from the new The Scrap Cake 6x6 pad, My Private Happiness. If you have never checked out The Scrap Cake, you really should. They have some of the most beautiful patterned papers I have ever seen! The daffodil image from YoF 1 was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored with Copic markers using the Flourishes Daffodil & Spring Greens combos (Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19, YG00, YG03, & YG06) and then trimmed out. A plain circle was die cut using a small Spellbinders plain circle die and the sentiment (from Orchids) was stamped on it using SU!'s Pear Pizzazz ink. A scalloped circle was die cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock using a Spellbinders small scalloped circle die. A scalloped border from the Country Charms Border set was stamped using SU!'s So Saffron ink and then trimmed out. I used two different pieces of lace (both of which were gifts from my ODBD teamie, Sabrina) on the card, layering then as you see. A bit of distressing was done to the main patterned paper panel, as well as the smaller strip. After layering everything I adhered the circle and the daffodil image using foam dimensionals. A couple of butterflies punched from the paper using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch completed the card.
Thanks for stopping by....

ODBD 4th Anniversary Hop!!!!
Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs 4th Anniversary Special Design Team Edition Release Blog Hop! If you got here from Connie's Blog, you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start at the ODBD Blog so you are sure to not miss anyone! If any links are lost along the way, you can always get the entire list of links from the ODBD Blog as well!
The bread sticks are so excited to be celebrating this special milestone in the life of ODBD! It is such a blessing to work for a company that brings glory to God in every stamp set created, and offers us the tools we need to do the same with every card we create! If you are a long term follower of ODBD, then you know that each year, the Design Team submits a favorite Scripture for the special anniversary sets, and those suggestions have been the sum total of all the "Scripture Collection" stamp sets in the store. This year, the special sets include our favorite Scriptures, but also quotes and sentiments that we feel would be great on cards or projects. I think you will find some of the most encouraging and uplifting words available in stamps in these special anniversary sets!
So now, here are the Details of the Anniversary Hop:
- The Hop will run 8am EDT Mar. 17 until 8pm EDT Mar 18.
- The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Mar 19.
- Four hoppers will win a FREE ANNIVERSARY SET and One blessed hopper will win The Complete Anniversary Bread Basket Bundle!!!
Here is what you have to do to be qualified to win one of these prizes:
- Hop to each designer’s blog and leave a comment
- Return to the Our Daily Bread designs blog and leave a comment telling us that you completed the hop, making note if there were any you could not comment on.
- Along with your statement that you completed the hop, leave some Anniversary wishes for Kelley and the gang at ODBD!
My contribution to this year's anniversary collection is the often quoted last lines of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken". I have always loved that quote and when we were asked for our contributions to the anniversary sets I immediately picked that one. As I was making my card this week for the challenge I was reflecting on those lines from the poem and realized just how much they symbolize the life of a Christian in today's world. We have chosen to take the road less traveled (following Christ) and it has made all the difference! For my card I went very simple as I really wanted to showcase the beautiful quote. I used some papers from the My Mind's Eye Breeze collection. When Kelley designed the stamp she incorporated those little trees (what a genius idea!). So I decided to stamped them in dark green, trim them out and pop them up as you see over the main image. Some dark green ribbon and a sweet little cross charm (a gift from my sweet fellow stick, Sabrina) finished the card. The layout for the card is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by...
Now I will send you to the next stop on the hop, the hugely talented DAWN!

So, get hopping and enjoy all the inspiration using For the Love of ODBD Backgrounds!
If you got here from the blog of the amazingly talented Lori, then you are on the right track. If not, please start back at the beginning at the ODBD blog. For my card I used the ODBD Butterfly Corner stamp and the coordinated Single Butterfly and die. Since this month is ODBD's 4th anniversary and stone for that anniversary/birthday is topaz I'm using different shades of blue for my card. I stamped the corner image using SU!'s Marina Mist and the sentiment using SU!'s Night of Navy. The sentiment is from the Mother Theresa set. The butterfly was stamped using Tuxedo Black and then colored with two blue Copics. I covered the butterfly lightly with some Diamond Stickles. The card base is SU!'s Night of Navy. I kept things very simple to let the Butterfly Corner stamp shine. Now off you go to the blog of the incredibly talented Julie!!

thinking of you....
Hey there!! A quick post with a card for several challenges. I recently found a new sketch challenge "retrosketches" and decided to give it a try. The challenge was started by Arielle of ColourQ fame and so I knew right away that it would be a fun one. This is their second challenge. I missed the first one cuz I just couldn't find something else to combine it with before the challenge closed. I'm also putting this into the current CASE Study challenge. I really liked the inspiration card and thought I would play along. I used the Hero Arts/Sizzix set Chandeliers & Chairs as it was perfect for the challenge. I have also popped this into the CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge this week is to use white and shades of blue. The inks are from Stampin Up! (Night of Navy & Marina Mist), as is the dark blue cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by....

Two Cards.. Two Challenges
Hey there!! Wow.. the weekend is over! Where does the time go?? Have a couple of cards to share. One card is for the current Timeless Tuesday challenge (that closes really soon!!) and the current Craft's Meow sketch challenge. The second card is for the Flourishes release week challenge. I'm working this week and so this will be the only Flourishes release week challenge I will be able to do {insert sad face}.
The Timeless Tuesday challenge host this time is Heather and she provide a beautiful inspiration photo and asked us to make a card using at least three of the colors from the photo. I think I some how managed to use almost all the colors to be found in the inspiration photo!! The stamps I used are from the Craft's Meow set Butterfly Kisses. I stamped the little fairy girl twice using So Saffron ink. One was trimmed out completely and the second only her wings. I then applied a thin layer of Diamond Stickles to the second wing. After it was dry I attached it to the main image and added the rhinestones. Because I wanted the piece with the sentiment stamped on it to extend beyond the edge like it does in the sketch I trimmed 1/2 inch off one side of the card base, making it 4.25 x 5. The sentiment strip is 5.5 inch, thus making the entire card 4.25 x 5.5. All the papers are from Stampin Up!, including the little oval that the fairy girl is layered on.
The second card uses the Flourishes set A Year of Flowers 1. Since this is a color challenge I tried to adhere as closely to the colors as I could. I was pretty happy to find a piece of SU! Sage Shadow cardstock because it is so similar to one of the greens used in the color swatch. I colored the pansies with Copic markers. Center pansy was stamped a second time, colored with Copics, trimmed out and then popped on the image. The layout for the card is from this week's Sketchbook Saturday sketch.

A Three-fer....
{For my Shining the Light post click HERE)
Hey there... back with a card for three challenges: Less is More (one layer + use script); ColourQ & One Layer Wednesday (use a swirl on your card). I love it when I can make a simple card and have it work for three different challenges!
My layout is pretty simple and a slight variation on one that I use a lot (maybe a little too much, but hey... if it ain't broke... don't fit it!!). The ColourQ colors this week are Certain Celery, Chocolate Chip, Calypso Coral , Blushing Bride (yes... Stampin Up! pays someone to come up with these names!!) and white. So I stamped the script border from the PTI set Background Basics Text Style using Certain Celery. The swirl (okay.. it does look more like a flourish!) from the Hero Arts set Thank You Flourishes was stamped using Calypso Coral and the "Hello" (from another Hero Arts set) was stamped using Chocolate Chip. Some light pink rhinestones were added to the swirl to bring in the Blushing Bride color (you do have to look rather closely at the card to see that the rhinestones are light pink... sorry about that!). Like I said... super simple.
Now... I must say a thank you to all the new followers I have acquired over the last few days. I'm tickled that you decided to follow my humble little blog!
Finally... a few weeks ago a wonderful papercrafter and fellow LIMette, Sylvie (Gibmiss) gave me an award: The Liebster Blog Award. "Liebster" is German for 'dearest.' The award is a 'share-the-love' arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with fewer than 200 followers (based on Google followers). There is a to do list that must be accomplished in order to post the badge on your blog. Alas, I have not done that yet because several of the bloggers I had in mind to send the award to have recently received it. So, I need to revise my list. But I wanted to do the first thing on the list and thank Sylvie for giving me the award! So, thank you very much Sylvie!! I truly appreciate the award and you!!

ODBDSLC100...
Hey there!! Happy Saturday! Time for another ODBD Shining the Light challenge and since this is ODBD's birthday month we are continuing to celebrate. This time the challenge team is asking you to use aqua or topaz and your favorite scripture or quote on your card.
Linky by Friday, March 16th at 8 a.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any otheronline gallery , please use the keyword is ODBDSLC100. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.
For my card I decided to use the color aqua and paired it with white. The scripture that I used on my card is one of my favorites and comes from the Scripture Col. 7. The tag was created using the Daffodil Tag set. The layout for the card is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I used a new Sizzix/Stampin Up! die that I recently purchased. I have to admit that when I first used the die things weren't working quite right with the die and I was ready to return it to my SU! demo. Once I used the cutting platform that came with my Big Shot the die worked perfectly!
Thanks for stopping by... please take some time to check out the beautiful projects created by my fellow "sticks" Lori, Jan Marie, Jan, Debi, Chris, Kathy, and Sabrina! To join in the fun, please click here.
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI white & aqua mist; Stamps: ODBD Scripture Col. 7 & Daffodil Tags; Dies: Sizzix; Embossing Folder: ProvoCraft; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & SU! Pool Party; Buttons: PTI Aqua Mist; PP: The Scrap Cake; Trim: Unknown; Flower: Irene's Garden
To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Friday, March 16th at 8 a.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

Penny Black Guest Designer Feature
Hey there!!! Happy Friday!! Here with a quick post to show a few of my cards that are being featured over at the Penny Black blog today!! I was so excited when I learned that I had been picked for a guest designer spot on the PB blog and finally today is the day!!
The first card is my most favorite of the group. I used the gorgeous Penny Black stamp Butterfly Suite and the "happiness" sentiment stamp. The image was stamped twice, one colored with Copics and trimmed out. The second image was inked and then the colored image popped up on top.
The next card uses the super cute set "Raindrops & Kisses". Just love that little umbrella. I did a bit of paper piecing on this one using some cute gingham paper.
The last card uses another collage stamp from Penny Black "Poppy Poem". I just love the Penny Black collage images. Again, I stamped the image twice, colored both with Copics and then trimmed out the main flower image from one and popped it up over the first one. Love the sweet little sentiment I used.
Thanks for stopping by....

Wonderful Birthday....
Hey there!! Gotta card today that I made using some new yummy designer paper from Stampin Up! and one of my most favorite dies from My Favorite Things: the Perfect Pinwheel die! When MFT came out with this die I about fell over in amazement. I had seen another die that made this type of pinwheel, but that die was a single "wing" of the pinwheel which meant that you had to die cut multiples of the wing in order to make your pinwheel. Because the MFT die has three "wings" on the die you only have to cut twice in order to make your pinwheel. Yipeee!!! To be honest MFT has some of the best and most innovative dies around. If you haven't check them out, you really should!
My card was made using the current MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge sketch and I made it specifically for my niece who will be turning 14 on Sunday. I really hope that she likes (and to be honest... I pretty sure she will!). I'm going to put this into the current Simon Says Stamp challenge that is Mother's Day/Special Girl because well... my niece is definitely a special girl! The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things, the Polka Dot Greetings set. Usually when I make a pinwheel I put it on a little stick so that it looks like a real working pinwheel, but this time I decided to leave off the stick and added the rhinestone flourishes to impart the idea of the pinwheel turning in the wind.
Thanks for stopping by....

You're My Type...
Hello, again!! Well.. our grey, rainy weather was replaced with snow!! Yep... woke up this morning to a nice little dusting of snow on the ground! Thank goodness it didn't stick on the roads and it was mostly gone by mid-afternoon! Another good day to stay inside and make a card... so I did!!
I made this card for several challenges... one of which is the current Catered Crop challenge to use ribbon. Last week I popped a card into the Catered Crop "Seeing Red" challenge and on Monday morning I found a lovely email from Linda (the owner of Catered Crop) telling me I had been chosen as a one of two winners and that I could have my card featured in their "Quickfire" round as a guest designer! How fun is that?? Of course I said "yes"! Coincidentally, the card that won me the "Quickfire" spot was also made for I Spy Sketch challenge #4. And what do you know... the card was chosen as one of their top 2!! Yay me!!! So, I only thought it fitting that I use I Spy Sketch #5 for my Catered Crop card! Finally... I'm popping this card into the Taylored Expressions February Key Ingredients Challenge. I recently started getting the TE KI kits and I have to say I'm really happy I did. One of the perks that came with getting a KI subscription was the ability to buy a special TE stamp set that was designed to coordinate with the February kit. I used that stamp set for my card. The papers are from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 2 Rosy collection. The card stock, ribbon and roses are also from the kit.
Thanks for stopping by....
