Softly, softly....

Here I've used softer colours from the oil pastel set in the middle of the card and then sprayed round the edge with Dylusions inks. The oil pastels act as a resist, so the spray ink only seeps into any tiny gaps left. You get an almost weathered paint effect:

The circus collage is built up with the Oxford Impression Circus stamps.
I'm going to be demoing all this and more at the Craft Barn Extravaganza this Saturday and Sunday, so come along and say hi!

Roll up! Roll up!

It's nearly time for the Craft Barn Extravaganza, so I thought I'd post some pics this week of what I'm demoing.
I'm working with the Oxford Impressions circus stamps (2 different sets), Faber-Castell oil pastels and Dylusions inks, along with stencils and some other stuff.
Here are some tags I've made:

Both the oil pastels and spray inks give lovely, bright colours!

Do come along if you can - there's loads of demos going on - something for everyone! And, it's all free!

June Craft Stamper is out tomorrow:

There's lots of great articles in it with all sorts of techniques. My article uses Oxford Impressions stamps (available from the Craft Barn) and Portfolio oil pastels (available from PaperArtsy) and is aimed at projects for men:

All done and bleached!

I had a lovely time at the Craft Barn on Saturday, demoing my little socks off! Many thanks to all who came and visited.

Now that I've finished the project for my class on Saturday 19 May, I'll show you some pics of what we're going to make. It's 5 masculine cards using Oxford Impressions stamps, spray inks, bleach and an embossing folder technique that allows you to just emboss round the edge of the stamped image. Here are a couple of them:

Plus an envelope to put them in:

I've used bright colours 'cos, you know me, that's what I like, but you can use whatever colours you like!
If you want to book, just go onto the Craft Barn website here.

Craft Barn Demo...

All done and dusted, and inked, and brayered, and stamped to my heart's content!

I had a lovely time on Saturday, so thank you to all those customers who came over for a chat and a natter about all things stamping. I got so inky that by the end I was leaving fingerprints where I didn't want them! We tried out loads of the Kaleidacolor inkpads - I think everyone had a different favourite!
And thank you to all at the Craft Barn - they're always so kind to me and feed me cups of coffee and put up with my mess!

Anyway, here are the last of the samples:

Stamps by Oxford Impressions, rainbow inkpads are Kaleidacolor. All available from The Craft Barn.

Craft Barn tomorrow

Well I'm putting the finishing touches to my prep for the Craft Barn demos tomorrow. I've made up a display board with lots of samples (hope there's room for it and all my clobber - you know how messy I am!)
Here's some more of the stuff:

I've kept these fairly simple as regards twiddly stuff as I wanted to show the Oxford Impression stamps, but the images are great for adding gems and embellishments to. If you're in the area, come in and have a chat - I'd love to see you.

Your carriage awaits...

Here's one of the samples I've made for my demo at the Craft Barn on Saturday 11 February.
This is close up showing all the stamping:

And this is how I'm going to display it:

Haven't added any twiddly bits yet - might, might not!

It's using the Oxford Impressions Marie Antoinette stamps and Kaleidacolor inkpads. At first I thought this might be a funny mix (you know, Marie Antoinette makes you think of toile and chintzy stuff not rainbow inkpads!) but actually it's been great fun and appeals to my colourful side!

Oxford Impressions stamps at the Craft Barn!

I'm very excited because Oxford Impressions stamps have arrived at the Craft Barn. These are full A4 plates of red rubber and are very good value at £19.99. There's a wide range of designs - something for everyone.

And...... I'm getting to demo them there in a couple of weeks - Saturday 11 February. I can't wait! I'm combining the Marie Antoinette plate with Kaleidacolor inkpads and glossy cardstock so the artwork's going to be bright, in your face vivid and gorgeously colourful! Just up my street.

So, if you can, come along to the Craft Barn between 10am and 4pm on that Saturday and see the selection of stamps available and what I'm doing with them.

Have just started the artwork, so here are some pics of various pieces in various stages:

You'll have to come along to see how they end up.

I'll be showing different ways of using the Kaleidacolor inkpads which leads into my class on Sunday 11 March where we're going to make a montage of 3 blocks with Crafty Individuals stamps and a swatch book of Kaleidacolor techniques.

I'll post some more samples when I've made them - better get back to work!
