Beside the Seaside...

I couldn't resist using the new seaside stamps (CI-272) from Crafty Individuals to make a beach hut. It uses one of their little boxes to which I've added a front out of mountboard. Here's the front:

I made the seahorse by stamping into some Cosmic Shimmer UTEE crystals (Lapis Black) with some gold powder rubbed over the top.
This is the inside of the front:

Here's the box part:
The seagulls hold the beaded thread/wire in place.

And here's the whole inside:

I've used CI papers, Adirondack Paint Dabbers, corresponding Adirondack inkpads.

Happy hessian...

Now these cards use the same set of Crafty Individuals stamps, but have a totally different look.
I was playing with the Bouquet Kaleidacolor inkpad and brayered it 'every which way but loose' across some glossy white card and then stamped the images, cut them out and layered them onto some of the same. The background card is coloured with some of the new Distress inkpads. I added touches of white pen to highlight:

This second one is made in the same way using up some of the scraps. I've also woven some lime green wool through the hessian because I liked the texture:

If you go down to the woods today....

...you won't find teddy bears but you can see my card using some more of Crafty Individuals new stamps, this time the trees from the Memory Lane set (CI-273):

Very simple - I've stamped on old book paper and coloured with pencils. The brads sort of crimped up the ribbon which I quite liked.

Crafty Individuals Memory Lane...

Have you seen these new stamps (CI-274) that Crafty Individuals have just released?

One of the row of houses reminded me of Dutch gable houses - right down to the little bicycle outside the door - so I stamped in a sort of Delft blue with red and white, the colours of the Dutch flag.

I've stamped and masked the houses in this first card in Cloudy Blue, all except for the one in the middle which is in Chipped Sapphire. I've added the text in Barn Door and splatters of both colours over the background (that's because I got a splodge of red ink where I didn't want it!!!)

For this second card I've used the same colours but stamped, watercoloured and cut out a whole row of houses. I've added the house with the red door to draw the eye in. The background's the same, except the words are in blue.

Good Luck James!

My son's just in the middle of his finals at uni so I had to send him a card:

The letters are from Elusive Images, the Lowercase Distress alphabet, really good for cards like this. The man is from the Steampunk Artistic Outpost set (James has just bought his first smart suit for graduation so it seemed suitable!!) and the circles are from Bo Bunny.

Craft Stamper is 10 years old!

Craft Stamper June 2010 issue is a bumper celebratory issue:
-There are eight extra pages of projects to enjoy
-There is a special birthday competition with £1200 worth of prizes up for grabs
-There is a retrospective feature looking back on ten years of the magazine
-The website is getting a new look and a new interactive gallery to which readers can upload their work.

It's a really great issue and will be available to buy in the shops on Friday.
Here's the card I made to celebrate:

It uses the Happy Birthday script stamp from Crafty Individuals and an old Tim Holtz one. I copied some of the back issue covers from the last year to make the background!
