I am finally back after an amazing two weeks. For the first week I was away at overnight camp as a counsellor, and had one of the best weeks of my life. I don't think I've ever laughed so much, or even cried so much (when it was over) in my life. The staff I work with are all amazing and I couldn't ask for better friends. The second week I was away visiting my grandparents and cousins because my Parents and brother were in England, without me. I don't mind though because I sure got to travel a bunch this year without them. So when I got back the first thing I missed doing was scrapbooking, so I got right into that and made 5 pages really quickly, so over the next 5 days, I'll be posting those. Here is the most recent one:
Also its song day 24: A song you would like to be played at your funeral

Day 23 and BFF Birthday!
Day 23: A song to play at your wedding
I totally know I've already picked this one, but I love it :) Plus I'm going to see him in concert! YAY Yay yay!
Also tomorrow is one of my closer guy friends birthdays. I don't often make birthday cards if I'm not going to someones birthday party because frankly I just don't have time to make cards for everyone, but this guy is special enough that I had to make one for him anyways :) So, since I also don;t have a lot of experience making cards for guys... hopefully its not too girly? Haha
Definitely one of my favourites though. I think I've begun to come into my scrap style, since everything I've made lately I've been strangely happy with. I also seem to be addicted to kraft paper, the colour blue and sewing and white paint drops... nearly all of which appear on this card.

Day 22 and New Baby!
Day 22: a song you play when you're sad
Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri
Plus my cousin is having her first baby soon! So I made her a card that matches with the present we got her :) Since we know it's a boy we obviously got something dinosaur themed. Obviously.

Day 21 and Favorite paper
Day 21: A song you play when you're happy
I have 2, Annie You Save Me by Graffiti6 (which I actually just heard yesterday for the first time) and Down To Earth from the Wall-e soundtrack

Also, A new page about two of my volleyball friends. I used a lot of handmade and old objects in this one, Handmade the second flower from the top, the one right underneath it, and the second flower from the bottom. The white rub on swirls are super old, one of the first scrapbooking embelishments I ever bought, and I haven't used them till now. The Title letters are originally pink thickers but i painted them black so they would go with my layout better. The paper used as the background (the blue and cream flower patterned one) is my favorite paper ever, I LOVE it.

Day 20 And Hilarious Page
Day 20: A song you listen to when you're angry
The Cave by Mumford and Sons
This song, and the band actually are perfect for all occasions and all emotional states. This one reminds me to calm down and "find strength in pain" as they say.
Plus new page based on a pretty funny story.
So as you can see, my previous blog post was all about Shumka camps where I'm working this summer (as I did last summer). So you should also know that Shumka is a professional Ukrainian Dancing company (who is actually going on tour to China in about 2 weeks) and they host dance camps in the summer. I was working at overnight camp at the lake when a little girl hurt her knee badly enough that we had to drive her to the hospital. When we got there, the doctor automatically assumed that myself and James (the other counsellor) were her parents, even though we're both WAY too young to have an 11 year old child. So we had a good laugh and even took a "family" picture.
This is actually the picture our "darling child" drew for me in the hospital. She is quite the artist, and I like to think she got that from me :P

Day 19 and I'm Back!
Day 19: A song from your favorite album
Also, you may have noticed I was missing for a while. That's because I was working out of town at Shumka Summer Dance camps, which is always the time of my life. Shumka is an internationally recognized Professional Ukrainian Dance Company, and even though I don't dance anymore, since I know people, they recommended me for a job :)
So I was working at overnight camp at the lake for a week, having the BEST time ever. If you check their facebook page here you can see pictures, sign up for camp, or even just read about it :) The people are awesome, the kids are fabulous dancers, and the activities are tons of fun. Every year we come home with super funny stories. and amazing memories, plus some silly words that have stuck in our head, like shady. So if you live in Canada, or anywhere close, I would definitely recommend signing up for camp. :)
So I know I've posted a Wakey! wakey! song before, but I honestly love their entire album, so I had to post another.

Day 17 and Wedding Card
Day 17: A song you hear on the radio.
I love the Script, and I remember listening to them before they got on the radio. Once they did appear on the radio, I remember that I heard this song ALL THE TIME. And then it got really annoying, which is the bad part of having a song on the radio. But I still adore the band, so no harm done.
My cousin is getting married later this summer and my mom got me to make a card to send to him as we aren't able to attend the wedding. Usually I wouldn't really mind because my summer is pretty booked anyways, but he lives in Australia, and I was so excited to go, and see my family again since I've only seen them 3? times in my life. So, because of that, I put a heck of a lot of effort into this card and I really love how it turned out.

Day 16 and more San Fran
DAy 16: A song you used to love but don't anymore.
Plus, I found myself two dresses and two pairs of shoes. The US seems to actually carry clothing in my size :) It's actually nice for a change to find something that fits. Plus all 4 were on sale which was nice because they would have cost me too much if they weren't.
So both dresses were bought from Macy's, one was was Ralph Lauren and one was Nine West on for an amazing sale. Both are a little big and are going to need some tailoring but really, at the price I bought them at it's worth it.

Day 15 and Return
So I just got back from San Francisco, which is also why I haven't kept up with my daily posting.... sorry about that :) Anyways, now that I'm back I can get right back into it.
Day 15: A song that describes you.
Army of Me by Bjork
Day 15: A song that describes you.
Army of Me by Bjork
I dont know why, I think because there are so many versions of this song by Bjork that I think it kind of relates to all the different ways I can lead my life, and also how strong this version makes me feel. Plus, the lyrics are pretty self inspiring, I guess. This song just pretty much struck a chord with me for some reason. Plus I thought this music video was kind of strange, funny, just like me.
Also, Pictures from San Fran!

Day 14, Happiness and Excitement.
Day 14: A song you love that no one would expect.
Also just had my math 30 diploma today, and I'm pretty confident that I did well... hopefully I'm right haha
So now I'm completely done high school! I'm so excited to move onto bigger and better things... Can't wait to go on to University.
And 400 page views as of this morning! yay!
I love old songs that my parents would have listened to. Stuff like Supertramp, Simon and Garfunkle, all the rock oldies. Once this song came on the radio as we were off to a volleyball game and I started singing along. Everyone had no idea how I knew the song, because they had never heard it. It looks like my parents passed on a fabulous taste in music to me :)

Day 12 and Excitement!
Day 12: A song by a band you hate
Why do I hate them? I just think they're lame. And their music is just annoying. And I think the guy in the grey vest looks creepy.
Also... I'm really excited because I just got some amazing news. I've just gotten really back into scrapbooking this year and was looking for opportunities to become more involved in the scrapbooking community in Canada, because I'm the only person I know my age that scrapbooks, so really there's no one who I'm friends with who shares my love affair with paper. So... getting onto the real point... There's the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton in October! and I'm so excited to go! If you live in Alberta, or would just really like to come, you can find more info here at the Canadian Scrapbooker website. There is a two day crop, cool classes and tons of amazing scrapbook merchandise. Plus a contest! I just cant wait at all, and hopefully I'll meet some awesome new people.
PLUS: I've just recently started watching the office from the first seasons because my lovely obsessed cousins have finally gotten through to me.... and no surprise here, i LOVE IT. so here's a little remix of the main song that I really like (even though I don't particularly like little wayne, and the copious amounts of swearing his music has makes me slightly uncomfortable.) but here you go anyways (and yes. it does have swearing in it, I'm sorry)

Day 11 and Secret Part 2!
Also go here to see my Alberta Business Hall Of Fame speech!
Day 11: A song from your favorite band.
My favorite Band since last summer has got to be Wakey! Wakey!. I love how upbeat their songs are and how everything has such a good beat and tune. The person who actually introduced me to them was my camp manager at Shumka Summer Dance Camps last year, and he and I share a very similar taste in music, so a lot of music list sharing took place that day. So now onto Rachels book....
Rachels book is actually the first mini book I've ever made in my life. Off to a good start I think!
