Happy Times

We have been loving this time of year so far. It all started off with an early Thanksgiving/Christmas party in with Scott's side of our family. We had a blast being together and it was a great start to the holidays!

We have also been spending time with my side.  Most of it was intentional, but we did end up as refugees at my parents house for several days after the crazy windstorm that knocked out our power! My brothers family didn't have power either, so they stayed at Mom and Dad's too!  It was a lot of fun!

Our house fared very well in the storm. My parents lost several trees, unfortunately one of them was my favorite one.  Scott cut the whole thing up, he had a good time re-living his logger days.

Speaking of trees...here's one that was cut down on purpose!  We got our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and we've loved having it in our home!

We've also been loving our fireplace.

A fall weekend

We had a lot of fun this weekend, starting with a stroll in Park City.  We browsed shops like this cool place with hundreds of old signs and pictures.
A lot of places were decorated for fall/Halloween.  There were groups going on ghost tours and we eavesdropped in on a few stories.
A bunch of couples in our neighborhood got together for an 80's themed party.  We had so much fun with everyone!  People dressed up and there were some awesome outfits and hairstyles.
My dad got a new tractor this week and he let me take it for a spin.  I have great memories of riding on tractors with my grandpa and dad.  I haven't ridden one in years and it was fun.
We definitely made the most of the beautiful fall weather!  We're loving it!

Living for the weekend

Our week days are pretty busy lately, it is starting to feel like we're living for the weekends.

We spent the first weekend of October visiting our family up in Idaho.  We had an awesome time, always do!

Little sister Julie, who is almost 8 years old (can't believe it), drew a portrait of us that I loved!  She's at the stage where she loves 'love stories' and she said this is a picture of Scott and I at a ball.  So cute.  I wish my eyelashes were that long in real life.

This weekend, we went to Frightmares at Lagoon.  My brother came too and we had fun!

We all bundled up, and Scott and I thought it was funny that we matched.  We tried to get my brother to wear red too, but he declined :)

I was too chicken to go in any haunted houses, so we just rode rides.

Sunday afternoon, Scott had a great idea- we went on a drive to look at the fall colors.  Such a simple thing to do, but it was a really great time!

We went up little and big cottonwood canyons.

We tried to get a picture of us together...this was the best we could do.
We're thinking it's about time for a new camera!

This is the same view...looks a lot better without us in it!

Hope you all had a nice weekend too!

It was a cold and rainy weekend...

Our plans of fishing or going to the zoo were out of the question this weekend due to the rain. After coming up with lots of ideas that cost a lot of money...we finally decided to just have a night in.
I went to rent a movie and run a few errands. When I came back home, I walked in and ALL of our furniture was in the center of the room, clumped together like a puzzle. The furniture mass was covered with every blanket we own. Yes, it was a fort. Scott had framed our tv so it was like a movie theater in there. There was even a ceiling fan (no joke) and tables on the sides for our food.

The next day, my sibs Ashley and Luke came and stayed the night with us. While Ash and I were out grocery shopping, Luke and Scott gave the fort an overhaul so that it would fit 4 people.

This time, it had central air (no joke), decorative trees, coffee table, color changing mist lamp, sun roof, and 'patio' with camping chairs, cooler, and smores stuff (set up around a fire).

It was a sight to see.

Monday...when it was nice weather, I enjoyed Scott's 4th softball game. He's on a team with his brother- it makes for a nice night out each week.

I had my camera with me and documented their 10-8 win! Scott got two runs- one was a home run (in field). He ran so fast!

Warm weather = happy heather

My brothers are too cute. They both have new digital cameras and have been walking around on Sunday afternoons capturing life as we know it.
Adams reservoir never looked so good! I can't believe this is right behind my house...man I take things for granite. (Ok help me out...is it 'granite' or 'granted'? That is the question of the century for me!)
I think they are pretty awesome little photographers. They took a lot of great pictures of our yard coming back to life.

Here's what Scott and I were doing Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect outside for an afternoon nap. I was so out!

Again? Sounds good to me

"Weber State University will be closed today, Feb. 1, until 5 p.m. due to inclement weather. All daytime classes have been canceled at all WSU campuses."
This has happened twice in 4 weeks...That's as many snow days as I ever had in grade school! Wow.
(p.s. I stood on my head at my yoga class yesterday.)
