So Fun
Merry Christmas! We had a great time with Scott's family in Idaho Falls. It was a blast to have everyone there. We laughed a lot and came away with some great inside jokes.
It was fun to get some family pictures taken. I am loving being an Aunt!
Here is our little family picture :)

A girly week
Well I made it through a marathon week of nutcracker. This is my 4th year playing for it. I fall in love with ballet all over again every year. The music is so beautiful, I love getting to play it.
It was extra fun this year too because my brother Luke was in the orchestra with me! At 16, I think he is one of the youngest to ever play with them- he did great and was excited to actually get PAID for playing :)
I was so tired by the end of the run. My days consisted of SITTING at work for 8 hours, SITTING in the car to drive a 1/2 hour, SITTING while playing for 2 hours, and SITTING in the car again to drive home. How can sitting be so exhausting???
Scott came to see the show on Friday night, what a good supporter! Ballet isn't his favorite thing on earth. He doesn't understand why the men dance in tights. But he didn't fall asleep, he claims he watched the whole show.
So after a lovely ballet on Friday, he came with me to see Twilight in between my performances on Saturday! Ha ha, poor guy didn't have a choice. I bought him the movie ticket while he was hunting in South Dakota. I'm good :) We saw it with Marilyn and Jeremy, and yes...even Luke came too. He didn't have much choice either.
We saw it at the Junction in Ogden- can you say RESERVED SEATING?! That made it so nice. We didn't have to go early at all. The boys were ok with the movie. They thought the cars were cool and liked the baseball scene.
Before you think I'm completely mean...let me mention that I DID watch the 2 hour premiere of 24 on Sunday with Scott. Child soldiers in Africa- it was pretty intense.

Band of Brothers
(Scott)
I recently returned home from South Dakota on a pheasant hunting trip. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with Jeff, Brad, and Dad. It was awesome to see how similar we each thought while in the same situations. We each had a similar safety regiment, I'm sure passed down from Dad. As we drove from field to field we would talk about what went through our minds at the last location and we found that we all had similar thoughts about events that took place. The moment that stands out to me was when Brad got off a shot at a bird that Dad and I also had our sights on. We were just too slow. But we could tell it was only wounded. In less than a second we both realized that if we didn't add a little more lead to the fire the pheasant would hit the ground running and be lost. So we each did our due diligence. In that moment I realized how close we all really were connected. I appreciated our time together and I learned a lot about how important our relationships are. I only wish our 3 other brothers could have been there to help finish our sentences, or rather, our birds.

Apart
If you're sick of newlywed-ish-ness...you might want to skip this one.
This week Scott got to go pheasant hunting in South Dakota with some family and had a blast! (Ha ha. Blast. Guns. Get it?) I was excited he got to go, I'm sure it was nice for him to take a break from work and hang with the boys.
Yes, we were apart for three 1/2 days. Ha ha. Seriously though, it is kind of strange the first time you separate. I thought it would be soooo easy for me since we had a long distance relationship for FIVE years. We would sometimes go a month without seeing each other.
Well we have been married 3 months now, and I can't believe how fast I got used to seeing him every day. I did miss him a bit. I did sleep at my parents house once. I did leave a 'welcome home' post it note on the door for him.
Now here's something amazing...(I'm telling on you JerMar). My brother and sis in law have NEVER spent a day apart since getting married 2 1/2 years ago!!! Amazing! I'm curious what your stories are? When was the first time you and your spouse were apart...can anyone beat 2 1/2 years???

This is the life...
(Scott's first post)
Being married is where its at! It could be because I am married to the most adorable girl in the world. It also could be so comfortable due to all the support we have had from friends and family.
This last week was a bitter sweet week for me. We spent the last of our gift cards from the wedding. However, we went out with a bang by purchasing 5 things that we both really wanted.
1st we bought a wedding gift for some friends (we know how fun it is to get gifts).
2nd we purchased a phone charging station that I had my eye on for a while.
3rd we got a "coca motion" to have hot chocolate nightly (this is a great alarm clock).
4th we chose a robe to replace Heathers well worn one.
5th we got a crepe maker (my favorite food).
I cannot begin to express how exciting married life is. We have a blast cuddling on our couches, floor, or blow up mattress while watching a movie in the living room. Its so nice to sit down to dinner and listen to Heather talk about her day. Hearing her laugh out loud while she is reading a book or watching a show with no one around is hilarious. Hearing her scream too loud while playing Mario Cart on the wii is equally hilarious. Joy is even found in cleaning the house together. This truly is the life!
We are just trying to create a habit of slowing life down enough to appreciate the small moments that otherwise might escape us.

Random Tag
My cute friend Em G. tagged me- here's 7 random things about me (Heather)
1.I fell in the pool of a strangers house
This is one of my earliest memories! I was three, Jeremy and I were playing superman (I was Lois Lane of course) while my parents toured a house for rent with the owners. We were bending over the pool to scoop out ‘kryptonite’ water or something and I fell in headfirst! The pool vacuum was running at the time and swam right by my face- to this day I am TERRIFEID of pool vacuums. By the way, my dad jumped in and saved me. And we did rent the house.
(even putting this picture up made my heart beat fast! How sad!)
2. I walked down the stairs from the second floor of the Eiffel tower
As a 7 year old, I thought it was a great idea to walk down the Eiffel tower- just to say I did. My dad joined me on the quest and 700 stairs later we finished! It hurt.
3. I used to show rabbits in the fair
When I was about Jr. High age, I showed my mini-rex rabbits in the county fair a few years! My proudest moments: Miss Dotty bit the judge (still got a blue ribbon though!) and Scamper got Best of Breed (and chewed the top off of her pretty ribbon.) Those were the days. I hope Scott lets me get a bunny someday.
(this isn't a picture of my rabbit...but it looks a lot like them)
4. I have one nearsighted and one farsighted eye
I’ve shared this before, but I think it is too cool.
5. My hair is longer now than it has ever been in my life
It is so heavy! I give myself headaches every time I put it in a ponytail. I love it though; we’ll see how long I last.
6. I laugh out loud even if I’m alone
This is probably Scotts favorite discovery about me- it cracks him up. It usually happens when I’m reading…I will burst out laughing at something funny in the book and then laughing makes me laugh harder and I can’t stop. Silly.
7. I cry at the drop of a hat if I get hurt
This is probably Scotts least favorite discovery about me! If I get hurt even the tiniest bit, I cry a little...mostly because it scared me I think. Then, just like the laughing, crying makes me cry harder and I have a little moment. Then I'm done. So far it has happened when Scott knocked a power drill onto my foot (I have slow reflexes) and yesterday when I hit my head really hard on something. Not pretty. Sorry Scott.
I tag Jeremy (yes you my brother!)

Watch out...we're watching you
We went to the gateway to check out the new Tucano's for dinner (Scott's favorite). As we were walking Scott says "Hey! That's Memo". Sure enough- Mr. Okur. Man he's tall.
We were talking about how fun it was to see a famous rich person while we walked into the restaurant. We were seated at a table and all of a sudden Scott says "No Way!" and got a huge grin on his face. I followed his gaze, and sure enough, two tables away was THIS guy.
So cool! It was fun to watch people come in and see which ones recognized him. Wow- he has a PRESENCE.
When we left the restaurant, we were laughing about seeing TWO famous people when we turned the corner and...
I love newscasters and this gal is tops, so I was way excited! Scott recognized her too and we burst out laughing!
So we now have a new hobby...people watching.

Husband Tag
Marilyn tagged me forever ago to do this husband quiz thing. Now that I have one (a husband that is...) I'd love to brag a bit!
1. What is his name? Scott
2. Who eats more? He eats more at dinner but often skips lunch during the day. That makes us pretty close
3. Who said "I love you" first? I did...brave huh!
4. Who is taller? Scott is by 9 inches. I wear heels so often that it usually feels more like 5 or 6.
5. Who is smarter? It depends. Usually him!
6. Who is more sensitive? He is very sensitive, but I think I have him beat by a bit.
7. Who does the laundry? We're tied on that one.
8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Looking at the bed...I do.
9. Who pays the bills? We both do so far but I think I'll take over that department soon.
10. Who cooks more? Oh gosh. Right now it's even.
11. What meals do you cook together? Sometimes dinner
12. Who is more stubborn? He says I am!
13. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Hmmm...probably him. (I have the whole 'stubborn' thing going on)
14. Who has more siblings? Scott has double what I do.
15. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Scott does and he looks good in 'em.
16. What do you like to do together? Everything! That's the best thing about marriage- you get to see each other every day! After a long distance relationship, it's something we definitely don't take for granted!
17. Who eats more sweets? That would be me. Heather.
18. Guilty pleasures? Going out to eat, pg-13 movies (ha ha), spending money!
19. How did you meet? On a UTA bus. It was our 5th day of school at UVSC, 18 years old, September 2003. He sat down next to me and ended up walking me home from the stop. He asked me out a day later and we have been together ever since!
20. Who asked out who first? Scott: we lived at the same apt complex in Provo. He saw my roomies and I outside so he put on a cut off tee shirt and grabbed a basketball. He walked up to us all 'cool' like he was going to go 'shoot some hoops'. He asked me to go out with him that night. We watched a movie up in the mountains on a triple date with his room mates. We were sold!
21. Who kissed who first? We had gone out for almost a month before he kissed me! There was a lot of peer pressure- ha ha. He finally pinned me down on the couch one day and just did it. It was the best! I took a piece of that couch fabric with me when I moved.
22. Who proposed? Scott surprised me on my 23rd birthday with flowers, a limo and huge FIREWORKS in front of dozens of people! I loved everything about it!
23. His best features? LOVE his dark hair, his eyebrows and green eyes. He is the perfect height, great arms and a nice caboose! :) His hand fits perfectly with mine!
24. What are his greatest qualities? He is so lovable, hilarious- I laugh ALL THE TIME, hardest working person I know, thoughtful, spiritual, creative, and pretty darn near perfect!
If anyone else wants to brag about your man- copy this onto your blog! It's fun to reflect :)

Month numero-uno
Month number one has come and gone SO FAST! We are just loving the married life, it is the best! Here are a few pics from Lake Tahoe- Scott planned a great honeymoon!
Chilling on the beach
Parasailing- so cool!
Fishing at 6am- this was the biggest of the 6 we caught!
Mini Golf- believe it or not we tied!
We had two more receptions in August, one in Idaho Falls and one in Fallon, Nevada. We had so much fun at both! It was awesome to see so many family and friends. My dad said we had 'the wedding that never ends'!
September has brought us some time to settle in. We LOVE where we're living and have had such a blast setting up our place. Come and see us! We live right up the road from the Mandarin and still haven't been yet!
Even though we're back at work, we're still making time for lots of fun :) We have gone to a Bees game, the State Fair, we finally saw Batman, and have hung out with family! Yay for marriage!

Memories of YOU
I've never seen a month fly by as fast as this July has. My goodness! Well the Europe trip was so awesome, we had so much fun together. We were all beyond tired by the end, but it was so worth it! I'll post some pictures from it soon- Luke took over 1,000!
Now it's just a mad dash to the 9th! Scott and I are scrambling to furnish our place- it will be fun to watch it become a little home!
p.s. Shalise, I need your address :)
Speaking of Weddings...as I looked down my list of your blogs, I realized I attended a lot of YOUR wedding receptions! Here is a little memory from each :)
Bri & Brad: Loved the tents and soft lights, the cheesecake, the live music, your gorgeous dress and your HAIR looked so awesome!
Colleen & Aaron: I was so excited for your wedding. Your tall shoes! The rainbow outside, your video, Shania Twain's 'From this Moment' playing, again...gorgeous dress
Emily & Adam: Lot's of color! Tons of flowers, a little rain (but you were so cute w/ your umbrella!) Your dress was adorable- I loved your bridals
Emily & Brad: Ash and I got to play for your reception! Your up-do was so pretty, gorgeous dress, really good ice cream roll thing for your dessert, such a cute video!
Haley & Salesi: Party of the year baby! Great food and lot's of dancing! I remember you switched dresses :) Loved the one you picked!
Jared & Kristen: Three words: Jenna, Heather, Karaoke. Fun lunch and an awesome reception the next week! Kristen's dress was so poofy and awesome.
Jenna & Greg: Tons of buttons on your dress :) Looked like a princess (beautiful crown!!!) Ash and I got to play during the reception on a little stage. It was so fun to catch your bouquet and Scott got the garter!
Kristen & Eric: I loved your china (from europe I think?) Inside at the Victorian (I can't remember what time of year it was).
Lindsay & Nate: Best dressed wedding party ever! Adorable reception, love your video (the butterfly kisses part! So cute)
Lis & Bobby: Can you say gerber daisy?! Adorable centerpieces, gorgeous pics at the Bountiful temple, the bridal with your bouquet in your mouth- priceless.
Lyndee & Drew: Another dance party! There wasn't a line at the reception & you pulled it off so perfect! The pink & orange theme was so cute- loved your dress & shoes! Yummy ice cream!
Marilyn & Jeremy: The first wedding I got to help plan! The awesome video, the tulips, your unique dress , the chocolate fountain, my pink bridesmaid dress! The cakes!
Sarah & Eric: The vegas superstars! I wasn't there... but I do love that you went out and got that wine colored satin dress, and that Elvis stopped by after your ceremony!
Shalise & Jason: I loved your decorations, the food was awesome, and the sash on your dress was so pretty! We totally got lost finding the dinner, but I'm so glad we found it because it was SO fun!

Hi Guys!
Hello friends, remember me? I’m the girl who doesn’t update her blog very well. I’ve got a spare minute, so if you’re interested, here’s a long picture-less update.
The summer is going great so far. It has been such a blast planning for the BIG day. I can see how it could get stressful, but I have a lot of awesome people helping to make it run smooth.
The countdown is on till we go to Europe for two weeks!!! The fam leaves July 3rd. I can’t wait for Luke to see where he was born, and I’m excited to see Paris again! It’s been 14 years since we were there, I can’t believe it.
So by the time we get home there will just be about three weeks till the wedding, we’re trying to finish up all the planning before we go. It has been a busy couple of weeks. Some highlights include:
-trying out éclairs (yum!)
- finding a place to live (Bountiful here we come!)
-getting the dress altered (being short is expensive!)
- picking out songs for the video (yes it’s going to be cheesy!)
-having 1000’s (no joke) of pictures taken. Scott and I got all decked out on Monday and had pics taken on the temple grounds in Salt Lake. I was so excited to show him my dress, and he looked awesome in his chocolate brown tux. We had quite the entourage with us (His mom and sister and my mom and sister). It was so fun to have them all there! And we love our photographer Frank!!!
Under two months! Yay! Love you all!

Warm weather = happy heather
My brothers are too cute. They both have new digital cameras and have been walking around on Sunday afternoons capturing life as we know it.
Here's what Scott and I were doing Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect outside for an afternoon nap. I was so out!
Adams reservoir never looked so good! I can't believe this is right behind my house...man I take things for granite. (Ok help me out...is it 'granite' or 'granted'? That is the question of the century for me!)
I think they are pretty awesome little photographers. They took a lot of great pictures of our yard coming back to life.

Here's what Scott and I were doing Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect outside for an afternoon nap. I was so out!

Here's the Story!
Wow.
This week has definitely changed my life! All of a sudden I have a thousand decisions to make! I LOVE IT!
My 23rd birthday was Wednesday. I was under the impression Scott was in California with his aunt and uncle for work. He called me once Tuesday, and left a quick message Wednesday. I figured he didn't have cell service where he was, so I didn't think anything was fishy about it.
My stake is preparing to do the play Savior of the World, and we had a rehearsal from 6-9pm that night. At the end of the rehearsal the entire cast of over 100 people sang happy birthday to me! It was awesome. My cute singles ward had also got me a cake :) I have such great friends!
As people started to leave, a few friends came in and told me I had to go to their car with them. I was talking to the directors at the moment, and told them I couldn't right then. After about 10 minutes, my neighbor came up and said, "Heather. There is a LIMO outside for you."
:)
My stomach dropped and I started shaking and feeling excited and nervous! I knew it must be Scott. THIS WAS IT! I ran outside and dozens of the cast were lining the sidewalks and they cheered when I came out!
I saw a red carpet leading up to a beautiful limo...and there was Scott down on both knees. He looked incredible! I started crying the moment I saw him! I jumped up and down and ran across the lawn to him. He told me that you never know when life is going to change (he quoted that from a poem I wrote him 4 years ago). He said I had changed his life, and that it was time to change ours.
As he put the gorgeous ring on my finger FIREWORKS went off across the street. These weren't just sparklers...I'm talking beautiful-illegal-80 foot high fireworks. It was perfect.
My family was there and so was his brother's. After lots of hugs, we drove to the Salt Lake Temple in the limo.
We are so happy! We have been working on making a decision about our future since Christmas, and it truly feels like this is exactly what we should be doing at this point in our lives. THANK YOU to everyone for supporting us all these years. Your love means THE WORLD to us.

A Fundraiser and Surprise
When your guy lives 7 hours away, you don't expect him to randomly show up on your doorstep un-announced. That's why I love my Scott! He is so unpredictable.
We had a big fundraising gala for my work recently. I hadn't planned on Scott coming because I had just seen him the week before. With the price of gas these days...we don't usually see each other more than twice a month.
BUT...right after yoga the night before I got a call from him saying he was at his brother's house in Kaysville! I was so surprised that he had driven that far to see me again, and to help out with the gala. He even ended up saving the day at it by getting our credit card machine to work. I had given up on it, but after 20 minutes on the phone with a customer service guy, he had it up and running.
He definitely has the approval of my boss now! It was an awesome weekend, I'm so glad he came. He's so supportive!

Dance Dance
Flew to Reno for a wedding on Friday, it was so fun! The reception was gorgeous, we all had fun dancing. It was fun to see Scott's mom and dad and his little sister Julie!
The next day we hurried back to Salt Lake to attend the Military ball with my family. We all loved getting dressed up and dancing for three hours! Scott looked great in his pink tie and cufflinks. He is a talented dancer, he definitely taught me some new steps!

Valentines Day Observed (February 12th)
Hope you had a great valentines day! I love you all! Here in L-town we celebrated a little early. Here's a pic of our 5th annual heart shaped breakfast. This year: french toast with well-sugared grapefruit. Yum!
Also, I am now the proud owner of a shiny (and very sharp!) buck knife. To be honest, I was really touched by this gift. I'll admit I got a tear in the eye when I flipped it over and saw the engraving!

Let me explain a bit...ever since I've known Scott, he's always kept a knife in his pocket. In the beginning, I thought it was a little scary and figured he just had it to look cool or something. Oddly enough, he uses it all the time! When we're together I always end up needing a knife and don't have one. Scott just grins and pulls his out.
Now I have my own! I love how creative he is. It makes me smile every time I think about my little knife.

Again? Sounds good to me
"Weber State University will be closed today, Feb. 1, until 5 p.m. due to inclement weather. All daytime classes have been canceled at all WSU campuses."
This has happened twice in 4 weeks...That's as many snow days as I ever had in grade school! Wow.
(p.s. I stood on my head at my yoga class yesterday.)

Yoga baby!
This was me today! I even know that pose, it's Warrior II. My friend Kajsa invited me to go to a Yoga introduction at our friend's work. We learned about where Yoga came from, how it's done, special ways of breathing, and what to expect your first time going. After, we stayed for an actual class. Within three minutes I felt an amazing warmth and peace...and burning in my thighs. At the start of class, I could barely touch my toes with my fingertips. By the end, I could stand on my hands. Seriously! I was so amazed. At the end, the teacher had us lay on the ground with our eyes closed for about 5 minutes. She came around and rubbed scented oil on our foreheads- I can't remember the last time I was that relaxed! The atmosphere of the place was perfect too, the only light was from candles, and there was soothing music playing. It was such a good time, I'm so glad I went. Kajsa and I are signed up to take some more classes. I need stress relief more than ever right now, and I think this is the perfect way!
