"L to the Dub" or better known as The Lawrence Welk Resort
"Mommy where are you?"
"Are you in here?"
"Here I am!" Lawrence Welk is the place to be. Brock has been coming here for years with his family and since we've been married it's become a family favorite for our little family too. This year we decided to have our traditional "friends trip" at Lawrence Welk too.

Although Reagan has been down water slides before she was having nothing to do with them this time. So I told her I would go down with her. When we got to the top the the lifeguard said she had to go by herself. I didn't tell Reagan this. When she sat down I just gave her a little push thinking she'll go down and realize how fun it is. Yea right! She was sooooo mad at me. I'm such a mean mom. Luckily our friend Ryan bribed her with some cookies and that's all it took. She and her buddy Luke went down about 50 times non-stop!
Now we're on vacation! Our friends, the Christensens, live pretty close to LW so they got a couple of girls to come over and babysit for us this night. We went to a kid free dinner, got some dessert and then headed off to the grotto. When we got home that night all the kids were fast asleep and we just stayed up and talked the night away! AHHHHH!
Happy Mother's Day to me
In one of the stories I told Reagan this month I told her about how my siblings and I would surprise my mom with breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. So Saturday morning Reagan sneaks into our room and goes to Brock's side of the bed and whispers, "Let's go make mom a surprise for Mother's Day". I was asleep during all of this (Brock told me how it came about after). All of a sudden I hear Reagan and Brock break through the door singing "Happy Mother's Day to You" with a tray of cereal salad (as Brock calls it) just the way I like it, and a big glass of cold water. Reagan was holding a flower she had picked from outside. Then Reagan goes in the kitchen gets her a bowl of cereal and nuzzles up right next to me. What a perfect morning of breakfast in bed with my best girl.
Sunday night, on real Mother's Day, Brock and Reagan made me a delicious dinner. I love this picture bc of the cute chef hats Brock made them to wear while they were hard at work.
Family night bonfire.....oh yeah, and Happy Anniversary!
So Brock said, "Let's go do a bonfire for Family Night." Of course, I was all over that. So as we were biking over to the beach I say to him, "Oh, by the way, Happy Anniversary." I actually remembered the night before but I didn't say a word bc I kinda didn't want Brock to remember so I wouldn't feel bad bc I was feeling too lazy to do anything or get anything for him. Truth be told, there isn't any other way I'd want to spend the evening. I love being with my family and especially at the beach. What a great night we had and even more special that we were doing it anyway. We didn't need a holiday to go out and have fun together. One of Reagan's favorite things for the past few months has been telling her stories about when we were kids. So here Brock is telling her one of his childhood stories. It's so funny bc I'm use to her asking for a story when we go on walks, when we're in the car, before bed, at dinner, etc. but I thought the beach would be enough entertainment on it's own. I guess our stories aren't as boring as I thought they'd be.
