Here's Richie winning at Monmouth.
Percy also raced recently! With his tangle of legs and every-growing body, Percy has always been a bit on the clumsy side. He also tends to be lazy, and the king of naps. So it was a pleasant surprise to see him run well! He didn't win, but he did come in second and look like a real horse in the process. Check out those flailing legs though! (He's the 7 horse.)
Meanwhile, Percy's full sister, Flower, also raced at Monmouth, finishing 3rd. (The 4 horse with the big white face.)
Marshall, the fancy-looking colt with the white tail also had his first two starts at Belmont and Saratoga. Eli, Patty, and Flame are all currently racing as well. Meanwhile, Funny is quickly earning War Horse status with 45 career starts, 12 wins, and $379k in earnings.
I have a lot of horses in my "virtual stable" so I get notifications almost daily about their works and races. These are the highlights from the last few weeks though.
In other, happy news, I have awesome updates about Phantom, the big chestnut gelding who made it very clear he didn't want to be a racehorse and was eventually adopted out through Re-Run. Juli ended up finding his adopter on Facebook. He landed in a fantastic home, and the adopter got a full background on him. So how is he doing? Well... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!!
Clearly, Phantom loves his job!! I really liked this big guy when he was with us, so it makes my heart happy to see him land softly.
omg you found the only horse sport with masks on.
ReplyDeletelytha, I've seen endurance folks wearing masks at the vet checks. But I haven't gone there b/c ... duh, pandemic...
ReplyDeleteIt must be so cool to see horses you’ve worked with doing so well.
ReplyDeleteBoth grey girls are absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeletePhantom looks like he's enjoying not being a race horse. Beautiful boy, so glad he got a good home.
