Elle's Studio: June & July Kits - Summer Mini Album

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio Summer inspiration!
Today I am sharing a super quick & easy mini album made from my 'left over' items from the
Elle's Studio June & July releases.
It only takes a few minutes to create this mini and it is perfect for recording those sweet Summer memories! Yay!
Here's a lil look at my album cover.....

So bright, cute 'n' fun!

Other: Sewing Machine Stitching,  & ribbon

The Summer Fun 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack papers are the perfect mix of Summer colors and patterns, and made for a terrific album cover! I decorated mine with a couple die cuts from the July Kit, one of the July Labels, a Summer Chipboard Sticker, and that cute heart veneer!

Tip: The heart veneer is actually the 'Wild At Heart' veneer from the Adventure Wood Veneers, but I flipped mine to the blank side to better suit my project!

To create my simple flip album, I backed the Summer Fun cover paper with the purple print from the Bright Polka Dot 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack and adhered together. I repeated this step with 2 more papers, so I ended up with 2 double sided 6 x 8.5 inch papers in total. I scored & folded both sheets at the 4 1/4 inch mark, and machine stitched them together across the scored line to form my album. Yep, it's that simple! And as I mentioned earlier, a great lil mini for using up all your scraps with!
Let's look inside....

Hello, indeed! The Bright Polka Dot purple paper coordinated perfectly with the 'hello' note card from the July 2020 Kit. I chose to decorate these pages very similarly to a four, 3 x 4 inch pocket page (minus the pockets) & let my photos do most of the talking. I added a little bit of story telling with the Summer Stickers, then embellished my photos and album with a couple of the Chipboard and Summer Tape Stickers.
Here's a closer look....

Super sweet for Summer!

Here's the next pages...

The landscape orientation of my photographs meant that I could only fit one photo per page - but I think these pages turned out just fine! To encourage cohesion between them, I backed both photos with the light purple journal cards (courtesy of the June & July 2020 Kits) & kept to similar embellishments. This time I combined gray with the purple color palette to create a really fresh and clean look. The gray Chipboard & Label Stickers look really effective together, and the Summer Stickers were utilised again for some simple journalling.
Love it!

The final page to this sweet Summer Mini is slightly different to the others. I have still used the same purple color scheme and mix of Chipboard, Summer Tape & Summer Stickers to embellish with but, I have also left lots of space to hand write the story. This is a really important detail to me - I want my children to write their own little sentence or two about this Summer. I think that in years to come they will really value what they've both recorded. As both of them will need to write something, I have left space on both pages.

Such a simple, and sweet Summer Mini!
I hope you'll feel inspired to make your own today -
go on, it only takes a few minutes & you'll be so glad you did!
Happy Summer Memory making!

Thanks so much for visiting,

Elle's Studio: Document December: Prepping Your Album!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio inspiration!
Today I am so excited to share how I've prepared my Document December album, as well as give you a few top tips & early glimpses too!

What can I say?
I just LOVE this Season, and Buddy the Elf maybe one of my idols, ha! #nogrinchhere
This year, I'm a little time poor so I've opted for a smaller, easier album to record this year's Festivities.

Top Tip #1:   Selecting a smaller pocket size album will ensure that we don't get overwhelmed by the enormity of documenting the season.

Here's a look at my album with a few of my fave Elle's Studio Document December supplies.....

The album is one of those 4" x 4" Instagram pocket page albums, but it was a tad boring for my liking! No surprises then that my album preparation involved quite a bit of embellishment & decoration. I started with the book plate and spine of the album, and added the year with our Red Dipped Puffy Alphabet Stickers.

You'll also spot those cute candy canes from the Ho! Ho! Ho! Puffy Stickers and a heart from the Christmas Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers. Super cute!  I also glued pom pom trim (from my sewing box stash) across the top of my album cover. The tiny pom poms reminded me of snow and really added a fun & playful element to the cover.

And speaking of fun, I just loved decorating the cover! The Merry Christmas white acrylic was a perfect title & adornment for this year's album - take a peek!

I'm so happy with how this turned out! Simple, sweet and really pretty! Those stocking Die Cut Shapes are errrything! And of course, I couldn't just do the front cover - so here's a peek at the inner cover too.

Umm, okay, wow!
I may be completely smitten with the Document December Kit and this Season of Giving!
It's the most wonderful time of the year, indeed!

You'll notice that on my desk I have cut a whole lot of pattern papers to the 4" x 4" size to aid my album preparation. I have used both the Document December Kit papers, as well as one of the Noteworthy 12 x 12 Paper Collection papers too!

Top Tip #2: When it comes to unusual sized albums, it helps to pre-cut a bunch of background papers so that all you need to do is print your photo and add a sentiment and sticker or two!

Here's a closer look inside...

For the inside cover of my album, I combined the new Good Cheer Acetate Die Cuts with more of our Puffy Stickers.

Top Tip #3: To avoid the appearance of glue behind the clear acetate, I used the puffy stickers to hide the spots and help hold the acetate in place.

In keeping with my love for fabric trims and textural elements, I also added some vintage burlap lace & a couple of tassels from my stash.

I attached the tassels to one of the album rings, and while I was there I decided to hole punch the Good Cheer Acetate star banner and thread it onto the ring as well. For maximum impact, I also threaded the large Gold Acrylic Star onto this ring as it's embellishments galore for this mini album!

Top Tip #4: Hole punch Die Cuts & maximize embellishments with openings to use as 'dangling charms' on album rings. Great for adding interest & texture to your pages, as well as softening the appearance of the album rings.

And lastly, but by no means least, to avoid over filling my pockets I adhered the Gold Dec 2019 Acrylic to the front of my clear pocket - not to the pattern paper base card! Such a great opening page to my super sweet DD album!

Top Tip #5: Adhere larger embellishments to the exterior of your pockets to keep them from getting too bulky!

So it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for me! I hope my DD album preparation has inspired you to get started on your Christmas documenting too!

Thanks so much visiting,

Happy Arty Days,
Amanda xo

Elle's Studio: Easter Traveler's Notebook / Mini Album

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio March Kit inspiration!
This month's kit and exclusive add on items are perfect for all your memory keeping needs, and today I am sharing how I used these supplies to create a completed, Easter theme, Traveler's Notebook insert! Yay!
Think December Daily goes small scale & Easter style!

Here's a look at my TN front cover....

Isn't this fun?!
Such a simple, but very sweet Traveler's Notebook insert to document all your Easter memories with!
To create this TN, I trimmed a sheet of the 12" Noteworthy pattern paper to 8 3/4" x 8 1/4". Next I  trimmed 10 sheets of plain white paper ( I like to use 180gsm watercolor paper ) to 8 1/4" x 8 1/4". I placed the pattern paper cover onto the slightly smaller sheets of white paper, and scored down the center to create a 'spine'. To hold it all into place, I machine stitched along the scored line, and voila! A TN insert ready to record those memories with!
I decorated the cover with the Happy Easter wood veneer and one of the Acrylic Chocolate Bunnies! I also embellished the cover with some of the Teal Puffy Alpha Stickers - gorgeous!

Let's look inside....

Other Supplies: Enamel dots, magenta gel pen.

What a sweet opening page!
I decorated the reverse side of the cover with a simple butterfly puffy sticker from the Noteworthy collection. On the opposite page, I trimmed a 1/2" strip of the Springtime 6 x 6" Paper Stack, and attached it to the top and bottom of my page. I also applied lots of lovely embellishments including that very cute wood veneer Easter egg. To make it pop just a lil more, I partly colored it with a magenta gel ink pen. Speaking of veneers, you'll also spy that fabulous Speech Bubble at the top of my page! Love it! The pale purple Little Acrylic Bunny is a very sweet addition to the embellishment cluster too!

Further inside my TN, you'll notice that I divide my Easter story into 'chapters'. This helps me to organize how I will document, photograph and record our memories made this Easter.
Chapter 1 is 'Family Time'....

I opted for a simple design here, and trimmed one of the March Kit 3 x 4 journal cards into 1/2" strips. I attached these strips to the center tops and center bases of both pages. On the left hand side, I added the chapter number and title with the Large Wood Veneer Numbers & White Puffy Alphabet Stickers. I also tucked a small die cut from the March Kit beneath the number one. At the base of this page, I also added a Tiny Everyday Label Sticker, as well as a Spring Puffy Sticker. Cute!
On the right hand side, I glued a 3 x 4" journal card from the March Kit to the center of my page. This is where I'll add my first family photograph from our upcoming Easter. For finishing touches, I adorned the page with more coordinating die cuts from the March Kit, and a March Label too!

Here's another 'ready to go' page for this chapter.....

How sweet is that Springtime pattern paper?!
Again, I've kept to a simple layout design, and am just waiting for my 6 x 4" family portrait photograph to be glued onto the right hand side, to balance that pattern paper. Cute!

Let's jump ahead to Chapter 2, 'Hello Spring'.....

I just adore interactive elements in any notebook or mini album, so stitching a journal pocket with the Springtime papers was a given! To highlight the Spring feel, I chose that floral paper & coordinating journal card. They really enhance the Spring vibes!

Here are a few more simple pages awaiting photos and memorabilia from this Season....

Isn't this happy?!
I created a monochromatic page with the all the yellow items in the March Kit. Nothing says sunshine and happiness more than yellow! I have ensured that my pages leave ample room for journaling & a photo, or two!

Here's another fun Spring page.....

Oh, how cool is this? I created this fun spread by cutting up the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack packaging label, and added a die cut from the March Kit. So simple, and so effective!

Let's move on to Chapter 3, "Easter"......

Other: Enamel dots.

Oh how adorable! All the lil bunnies!!!
Here's another page in this chapter.....

Eeep!!! That Chocolate Acrylic Bunny is errrrything!
Possibly my fave item from the add-ons this month!

And that's just a brief look at my Easter TN using the fabulous March Kit and new releases!
Now all I need to do is get out my big girl camera for Easter, and take those photos!
Ready, set, Easter is GO!!!

I hope my post inspired you to go ahead & create a Traveler's Notebook to record your Easter memories with!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Citrus Twist Kits: March Life Chapters Kit & Mini Album!

Hi Happy Arty Days Friends!

Welcome back for more Citrus Twist Kits inspiration!
I am just loving the new March Life Chapters Life Crafted Kit!
So much gorgeousness!
Today I am shining the spotlight on two of my favorite items from this kit; the cork numerals & the die cut ephemera!
To demonstrate the versatility of our Life Crafted Kits, I've avoided creating pages for my Life Crafted Album or even making scrapbook layouts. Instead, I have featured both items in a super cute, miniature flip album!

"Our Lil' Story"

Squeeee! How cute is this mini album?!! SO adorable!
Here's a closer view of the cover....

The sweetest!
The front cover features lots of the die cut ephemera, and in particular the book pieces to enhance the story themed album title! I also decorate with chipboard hearts, and the white puffy alphabet stickers from the Life Chapters Kit.

To create this mini flip album, I select 3 of the Life Chapters 6 x 8" pattern papers and machine stitch them together through the center (at 4"). Fold into half, and voila, a lil flip book ready to decorate!
Here's a look inside....

Life is a fairytale seems to sum it up perfectly! With so many book references in this month's kit, story telling is definitely on the agenda!
How awesome is that cork numeral? Such a statement piece!
All good stories start with number one - so gather around, I have a story to tell.

I layered the cork numeral onto one of the 6 x 4" journal cards from the Life Chapters Kit, and then embellished it with ephemera. Simple, but so effective! I use thick double sided tape to adhere the 6 x 4" journal card to the album pages.

Our story begins with the arrival of our newest family member....

Nawww! Such a cutie!
I use the mint Tiny Word stickers, as well as the puffy white alpha stickers, to document part 1 of this happy story! More ephemera adorns the page, and that 'found' chipboard sticker graces my sweet photo!

Moving on to chapter 2.....

Isn't this adorable!
Again, I mount the cork numeral onto a journal card - but this time, I use a 3 x 4" one. The cork number 2 also forms the 'handle' to lift the flap....

I love interactive elements, and hidden stories & photos is such a fun element to any mini album!

I attach the 3 x 4" card with washi tape from my stash, and embellish with more of the ephemera, and chipboard stickers. Simple, beautiful creating made so easy with the Life Crafted Kit!

Chapter 3 signals the close of this flip album.....

Like previous pages, the cork numeral is adorned with the exclusive ephemera and chipboard from the Life Chapters Kit.

The ephemera label, Endings can be beautiful was the perfect sentiment to end this mini with.
And there you have it!

Cork numerals and ephemera stealing the spotlight in this super sweet (& easy to recreate!) mini album!
I hope I have inspired you to get creating with your Citrus Twist Kits: Life Crafted Kits today!

Citrus Twist Kits: Life Crafted Album & Love Stories Kit!

Hi  Friends!

Welcome back for more Citrus Twist Kits inspiration!
Boy oh boy, have I been having tons of fun with my new Life Crafted Album!
The new February Life Crafted Kit - Love Stories - is all kinds of awesomeness! From pretty pattern papers to the divine ephemera & even the acetate shapes, this kit has my heart!
But enough chatter, let's take a lil looksee into my album.....

Missed my first post with the opening "Getting Started" pages?
You can check it out here.

Here's the next installment...

This month I have been able to really embrace how Life Crafted is going to work for me & my stories! You'll see that I have now divided my album into 3 key sections: A Beautiful Life - memory keeping & story telling, Give Yourself Time - dedicated to self care and personal growth, & Random Thoughts - fun, random bits n pieces from daily life, as well as a bit of creative play. It's kinda like 3 albums in one, which will grow & develop as the year unfolds. I used my January Fresh Starts Kit for this, and then continue to mix and match the two kits because the kits have been so beautifully curated that everything coordinates together perfectly!

My album will be an eclectic mix of scrapbook pages, pocket pages, traveler's notebook spreads and all things in between! Ultimately, it will become a beautiful mini album that reflects me & my stories! Perfect!
Here's a few pages from my A Beautiful Life section.....

This IS my why! Such a treasured memory, & so beautifully documented. Love the soft color palette & the gold foil accents. On the left hand side of my album, I have a more traditional scrapbook style page with lots of pretty layers & embellishments. I trim the pattern paper to a 5" x 8" size, and hole punch the side so it fits into my ringed binder. To the right, I have created a more TN / pocket style page - doing things my way & loving how it looks!
The stamps included in the Love Stories Kit are amazing! I use them subtly on both pages.

How awesome are these TN style pages?! Love This, indeed! Documenting the everyday moments never looked so good! Here's how it fits into my album...

Yes, This!!!
For these pages, I mostly used the February Love Stories Kit, but I also added in the powder blue pattern paper from the January Kit. The 3" x 4" cards were perfect for these fun photos of my husband, son & new puppy - just look at the facial expression on my son, hear the love, indeed! The die cut acetate shapes in this month's kit are such a fabulous edition too!

Nawww! Another wonderful moment documented! So sweet!
I have mixed up my memory keeping style again & I have to say, I am having so much fun! The 5" x 8" title page is a fave of mine, & I love the mix of the January black puffy alphabet stickers with the February ephemera & acetate shapes!
Here's a close up of my TN style page...

Isn't this darling?!!
I loved the bold colors, but as most of my album will be soft & full of pastel pretties, I used plain white paper as my base. The white helps to balance the yellow & red, and adds a 'clean' look to the page.
Best part, it looks gorgeous and I documented it in minutes! Life Crafted is fitting memory keeping into my busy life! LOVE!

Next up, my Give Yourself Time feature....

For my opening page,  I use a clear vellum overlay which I embellish with the you've totally got this ephemera & a puffy heart sticker from the Love Stories Kit. But it's what's underneath that has me....

Ga ga gorgeous! Nothing says self care like encouraging affirmations! That pattern paper is totally swoon worthy!
Over the page, you'll see more from the February kits....

Each month the Life Crafted kits include an exclusive 3" x 8" book mark & this month's was perfect for my self care album! I embellished mine with die cut ephemera & acetate shapes as well as foiled chipboard & puffy sticker hearts! (All are from the Love Stories Kit).
Peeking behind the book mark is a pocket page affirmation....

Sigh! SO pretty & so heartfelt! A little reminder to self kinda page!
Tip: To keep the dimension of the die cut butterfly wings, I adhere the butterfly onto the outside of the pocket, not onto the paper. This prevents bulging, out of shape pockets and looks just as effective.

Also in my 'me' section, I am trying to document more of lil' 'ole me....

Nawww, puppy love & evening beach walks! My best Summer, right here! This makes my heart happy!
As the month's progress, so will my stories & self care - but oddly enough, I have already created the closing page to this part of my album.....

As soon as I saw the I AM ENOUGH label, I knew I wanted use it for the closing page of my Give Yourself Time album. I foam mount it onto a pretty pink label,& that divine floral paper. Pretty! I also add one last reminder to self...Breathe! Those gold puffy alphas are errrrrything!

And last, but by no means least, here's a very quick peek into my Random Thoughts part of the album.....

How fun is this?! Bright, colorful & creative play! Love it!
And there you have it!
