Citrus Twist Kits: Let's Get Digital for Fall!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Citrus Twist Kits inspiration!
Today I'm sharing a super fun Fall layout that spotlights the awesome Digital Cut Files at CTK!
I have used the FREE Leaf Frame file with my Silhouette Sketch Pens for a really fabulous mixed media layout!
Here's what I created....

"Small Things, Great Love"

Isn't this gor-jus?!! All the Fall fabulousness here!
I have featured the Little Things Pocket Life Kit, and combined it with wood veneer from the Little Things Scrapbook Kit, as well as fussy cut butterflies from the Vicki Boutin paper in the Pattern Paper Play Kit.
But it's the Leaf Frame File that really makes this layout!
The Leaf Frame file has been designed by our very talented Nathalie DeSousa,
& looks like this....

Cut file - FREE - Leaf Frame - October 2018
So awesome!!!
You can download the Leaf Frame Digital Cut File from the CTK Store HERE

I enlarged this file so it would frame around edge of my 12 x 12" cardstock base, & then used Silhouette Sketch Pens (Orange & Red ) to draw the enlarged digital file.
I loosely paint the leaves with the fabulous Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors in Candy AppleClementine, Sunshine & even a tiny amount of Lavender! I love the flow and vibrancy of these liquid watercolors!
Here's a closer look for you.....

Sketch Pens are water soluble, so I use this 'ink bleeding' to my advantage,  & blend to create a little tone within my messy water coloring. I also add a few inky splatters for good measure. So cool!
Here's another view for you....

Sketch Pens are really good fun, and combined with the Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors, they're super effective too!
Those fussy cut butterflies are such a pretty adornment too!
The laugh veneer from the Scrapbook Kit coordinates perfectly with both the Fall, outdoorsy theme of my layout.

It's also a pretty accurate descriptor of the story in my photo too! Aren't they just the cutest?!

I layer my favorite Fall photo onto that exclusive PL journal card, and then layer die cuts and 6 x 8 pattern paper beneath it all.
Super simple creating that's tons of fun, and looks super effective!

And there you have it!
My fun take on this month's Let's Get Digital highlight!
I hope you'll download this FREE file (and more) from the CTK shop HERE
and get a little creative too!

Thanks so much for visiting,
til next time,
Happy Arty Days,

Shimmerz Paints: Inklingz & New Year Intentions!

Hi Creative Friends!

Time for my first Shimmerz Paints Social Team share of the New Year!
Yay!!!
It's no secret how much I LOVE these awesome paints!
And speaking of New Year, today's creation is all about my intentions for 2018....

"Unique & Lovely"

Stay Unqiue
Be Lovely
& most of all
Take Time To Stop & Smell The Roses

Great intentions, and even better when combined with our favourite Shimmerz Paints INKLINGZ!

What are Inklingz?

Inklings are solid, dry, gorgeously shimmering watercolors that are activated by water. They are non toxic and acid free. Their pigments are evenly distributed and intense.

Here's a better look at my layout.....

Oh swoon! Doesn't this just scream SPRING?!!
Loving all those pretty blooms!
And just look at the shimmer and sheen on those hand coloured roses!!!
DIVINE!
I've used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Bohemian Dream line, & a Paper Issues Free File for this layout too!

Here's how I created this gorgeous piece....

I may *cough cough* have a thing for all the florals....

I decided to create my own 'floral' background paper with the Paper Issues FREE cut file: Rosey Posey. I used my Silhouette Sketch Pen in Pink to outline the file.
I then did a quick plan of my page (shown above) and colour matched my Inklingz to the die cut ephemera sentiment, "Be Yourself Colourfully AND Bravely"

The Inklingz I selected are:

And you can purchase them individually or all together (with a few extra colours)  in the

I really wanted to replicate that die cut, so I painted my roses not only in the matching colours but also in that diagonal design......

To add a lil more interest, I flick some of the Inklingz, as well as
The final painty touch is the treatment of that chippie title, unique & lovely.
I didn't want to distract away from the high shine Inklingz roses, so I half painted the title using Creameez: Sky's The Limit (Still shimmering but not as intense)
The result is super pretty.....

Unique & Lovely, indeed!

The rest of my layout is a few cleverly positioned die cut ephemera blooms and a sprinkling of sequins! Love it!
Here's a few close ups for you......

Oh the high sheen on those roses is to die for!

Swoon!!!! Oh-so-pretty!

Inklingz are Aaaaah-mazing pots of shimmery goodness!
I hope I have inspired you to give them a try today!

Pebbles: New Year's Resolutions with Happy Hooray!

Hi Paper Loving Friends!
I trust that you all had a very Merry Christmas and are now preparing for all the New Year festivities!
One of my resolutions this year is to inspire my daughter with a new scrapbook album that offers inspiration, affirmations and general messages for strength and gratitude. For the first page of her album, I wanted to remind her of her own resolutions for the year; to be brave, live fully and be bold!

The Pebbles Happy Hooray collection is so bright, and playful, and just perfect for this happy message layout!

Isn't this fabulous?! Live (color)fully, I say!
I begin my layout with that fabulous diagonal stripe paper, Rainbowtastic! I trim this paper to the 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch size, and then cut my white cardstock to 7 1/2 inch by 10 inch. Before I attach the two sheets together, I use the Silhouette Cameo Sketch Pens to draw my title in pink ink.
I then hand colour my sketch pen title with watercolor paints, which I try to color match with the patterned paper. I add a gentle flick of pink and blue paint for interest.
Once dry, I use my sewing machine to stitch the cardstock to the pattern paper.

I embellish the top of my layout with the Thicker Stickers banners, as well as that super cute Die Cut speech bubble! And decorate the title with a couple Die Cut stars.

My photo is 2 1/2 inch by 3 inch size, and is mounted onto pattern papers, Beary Sweet and Eat Cake. I partially secure it down with a strip of the rainbow striped Happy Hooray Washi Tape, and use my favourite Sticky Thumb Marathon Runner tape to finish the job.
Foam Dots are added to my sentiment Die Cut, and positioned onto my photograph as a subtitle. Celebrate life!
And nothing says celebrate more than scattered confetti sprinkles!
(aren't those Enamel Sprinkle Stickers the best?!!!)
My final touch is to use my Typecast Typewriter to print my 'be bold' sentiment. Perfect!

Such a beautiful page for my darling daughter! I hope it has inspired you to start thinking of your resolutions for 2018, and how to document them.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shimmerz Paints & Silhouette Sketch Pens!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back for more Shimmerz Paints inspiration!
For today's layout, I 'm playing with Silhouette Sketch Pens and our favourite Shimmerz products!
Here's what I've created,

"Love"

Oh wow! Isn't this stunning?!!
I've used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Wild At Heart collection,
and a Paper Issues free cut file with a blue Sketch Pen.
SO Pretty!
The heart file is called Autumn Blessings and you can grab it for FREE here
But today is all about those stunning Shimmerz Paints
so here's how I've created that background....

I roughly painted the heart outline in watered down Spritz: Sapphire, and also applied it with the packaging technique too! I painted the blossoms in Vibez: Glorious Day, and then added tiny splatters of this golden hue around the heart. The roses are painted with Creameez: Trippin' in the Tropics, the daisy is painted in Creameez: Cheeky Pink and the leaves are Creameez: Refresh Mint.
Love these colours together!
To finish it off, I added more splatters around the heart with the Creameez colours, and voila!
It was that simple and easy!
Here's a few close ups for you........

It really is such a pretty effect!
Remember: Sketch Pens are water soluble, so they do bleed a little when the Shimmerz Paints are applied. Pat dry with a paper towel, and re paint where required.

Oh swoon! Just the prettiest!
And all the floral elements from the Wild At Heart collection really add to the beauty of this page!
Love it all!

Hope my layout has inspired you to play with Shimmerz Paints!
