Exclusively Yours

Hi friends! Today the IHP design team is featuring the stamp sets that are available exclusively at i {heart} papers! There are 3 different lines; Mint Motif, Chicken Girl Design and The Petal Press. I chose The Petal Press' Summer Garden set to work with today. I needed a 3D project so I took out my SU! Petal Cone die and made a little May basket! I used DP from Echo Park's Springtime 12x12 collection. To hold my basket together I used i {stick} papers red line tape- fabulous stuff!! I stamped my lilies and colored them with my Copic sketch markers to match my DP. I cut them out using my circle nestabilities and then layered it on a lacey circle that is back in stock! I accented the flowers with tiny pearls from Zva Creative. To hang my basket on a lucky recipient's doorknob, I used some pink silk ribbon and to keep the basket closed, I tied the flaps shut with a piece of pink baker's twine. Here's a close up of my lilies.

Thanks for stopping by and now check out what the other team members created with exclusive i {heart} papers stamp sets:

Summer Garden

Hi friends, happy Wednesday to you!  I came across Jessie Rone's forgotten stamp Friday post while blog surfing the other day and I just love her idea of playing with "older" stamps that have been pushed to the back of the cabinet! I have many, many sets that I can't seem to part with, yet hardly ever use. This is my chance to ink them up again! Today's card uses Summer Garden from The Petal Press, an i {heart} papers exclusive stamp line. I colored my lilies with my Copic sketch markers and then inked around them with Antique Linen distress ink. I layered it on a large scallop oval nestabilitie and then on some Portrait DP by Crate Paper. If you look closely at the floral print, you will see that I cut layers of scallops using the Fancy Scallop Piercerabilitie and then adhered them all together.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Monday

This is not how I usually greet a Monday morning but today is a holiday and I actually have the day off from my charges!! So here it is a happy day :) I was very excited to see that Tracy was yesterday's featured stamper and I set to work this morning CASEing one of her awesome cards. I chose this one from her gallery as my inspiration. I basically just kept the layout and switched up all of the other elements. Tracy and I share a few bonds and I consider her one of my good virtual friends (since we've never met in real life). The first is that she introduced me to Kate of  i {heart} papers and for that I will be eternally grateful! The second is that we share a deep love of Memory Box papers and so I had to use one of my favorite MB collections, Frond, on this card today. Thirdly, she asked me to be a part of her creative team to promote her personal stamp line, The Petal Press, that is available exclusively at i {heart} papers! I used her set Summer Garden today. So Tracy- thank you and enjoy your week in the SCS spotlight!

Speaking of i {heart} papers, tomorrow is DT challenge day and it is full of sweet inspiration so be sure and stop back tomorrow!

Summer Lillies

After all of the rain we've had the past week, my day lilies are in full bloom! I'm not much of a flower gardener- they are just part of our landscaping in front of our house- but boy do they add a nice pop of color! They inspired me to play with my Summer Garden set again today. I was browsing SCS this morning and came across the Clean and Simple challenge to make a clean and simple card using the colors bashful blue, certainly celery and pumpkin pie. That was all I needed to get started! I paper pieced the lilies, the stems and the water in the vase in the required colors and trimmed them all out. I cut out a circle nestabilities to layer it on and then added another layer of embossing with a smaller circle. I dry embossed my card base with a quickutz embossing folder and added some pearls to a line of the dots. A bashful blue ribbon ties it all together!

I know I promised soccer pictures of my oldest son but I haven't gotten any good ones of him as goalie yet! (I seem to always be sitting at the wrong end of the field for the second half!) Anyways, I will get some. For now, here is a picture of my youngest boys at cub scout camp!

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Garden reveal!

It's release day for The Petal Press set, Summer Garden! This set is available exclusively at i {heart} papers. Today I used the roses for my topper in the mason jar. I stamped them in versafine vintage sepia ink and then colored them in with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I trimmed it out and layered it on a circle nestabilitie and then added the sentiment in tag form. The DP is from the Jubilee collection by Memory Box. I did some stitching around the edges and added a baby blue satin ribbon. The scallop edge was created with the big scallop borderabilities. I love this DP- it is just so summery and perfect for this set too (it was a beautiful sunny day here today so I had to take my picture outside to go with the whole summer theme ;) Isn't this set great? Check out the other DT members creations and then head over to i {heart} papers to buy this set before it's gone!

With Love

Here is another sneaky peeky of the Petal Press new release, Summer Garden. This time I used the tea cup and a different flower topper. I again colored my image with my Copic sketch markers and used my circle nestabilities to cut it out. The DP is from the Enchanted collection by Memory Box. The DP has a lot of detail and I wanted to make my image stand out a bit from it so I decided to make it into a tag with a picture hanger element from SU!'s hodgepodge hardware. The sheer ribbon is so sparkly and pretty IRL but didn't have much pop over the DP so I added a piece of white crochet trim underneath it. (much better) The sentiment is layered with a scallop circle nestabilitie and popped up for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow for the full release of Summer Garden that you will only find at i {heart} papers!

ETA: Ooopsie! The actual release day is WEDNESDAY June 23- but you are welcome to stop back before then!!

Summer Garden

Happy Wednesday friends! Today I have a little sneak peek of a new Petal Press stamp set called summer garden. You are going to love the versatility of this set! There are sentiments, "bases" and "toppers" to create just the right element! I stamped the vase in memento tuxedo black ink and then chose the lillies as my "topper" and stamped those onto the stems. I colored the whole thing with my Copic sketch markers. I layered the oval nestabilities on a labels 10 die that I accented with black rhinestones. The DP is from Basic Grey's Capella collection and I sewed around the edges with my machine. The black rhinestone embellishment under the ribbon was actually part of a much bigger flourish that I had cut apart for another project! For my ribbon embellishment I tied the crepe ribbon into a knot and then added just a tiny loop of the crochet trim and a big button that I had in my stash. I didn't add one of the fabulous sentiments included with this set because I'm not sure who the recipient will be yet. (A very versatile card don't you think?!) Now go on and check out the rest of the AWESOME Petal Press DT for more gorgeous creations with this set! When I say awesome I mean it- 2 (yes two) of my fellow DT members just became part of the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen! How cool is that?! Congrats Tiff and Cathleen!

Getting Krafty and an announcement!

It's time to get krafty with the i {heart} papers design team! Our challenge this month is to use any of the Kraft colored/themed products that i {heart} papers carries in the store! With this challenge you are sure to see some fabulous products showcased. For my krafty card, I chose the Basic Grey Basic Kraft 6x6 paper pad to work with. I used 3 different patterns from this collection on this project. I stamped my tree from the May Stampin' store kit by Unity right onto one of the DP patterns and used my Copic Sketch markers to color it in. I used my rectangle nestabilities to layer it up. I added another layer of DP that I roughed up with my scissors and inked around the edges, I put a brown corduroy brad in the corner for some more texture. The crochet trim and ivory burlap rope fit with the krafty theme don't you think? The sentiment is also from the May stampin' store kit and is stamped in Memento rich cocoa ink. It didn't stand out very well on the printed DP so I outlined it with my Atyou Spica Glitter pen. Now it's your turn- show us how "krafty" you can be! Upload your project to your blog or online gallery using the keyword IHP0610, and leave one of us a link so we can check it out! Be sure and see what my fellow DT memebers created too!

Now, for the announcement! Have you missed seeing projects from the Petal Press Design Team? Projects that feature the exclusive stamps available only from i {heart} papers? Well, never fear WE'RE BACK!! After a brief hiatus, Tracy has put her creative genius back to work and created another fabulous stamp set that will be debuting tomorrow with the full release on June 23! Since the last release we've lost a few DT members but we have added a few too! Stop by their blogs today to say welcome and then stop back tomorrow for some projects featuring the new Petal Press set "Summer Garden"!

Have a great day!

Sleigh Ride Reveal

It's time to reveal the new set from The Petal Press! This one is called Sleigh Ride and is available now at i {heart} papers! For my card today I colored my sleigh and candy cane branches with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. I used the new Eskimo Kisses DP from Basic Grey and a clean and simple layout. I punched a snowflake with an OLD punch in my stash and added some glitter and a button to it. When I was finished and showed my 6 year-old, he said it reminded him of Santa's suit! Yep, I guess it does! Now run over to i {heart} papers and snatch up a set for yourself before they are gone!

Thanks for stopping by!

A mellow sleigh ride

I have another sneak peek of Tracy's new set "Sleigh Ride" available from i {heart} papers on Oct. 16th! I chose a color combo from last week of mellow moss, white and kraft. I colored my sleigh with my white signo gel pen and the pine cones and branches with my aqua painter and reinkers. The little branches are made with a Martha Stewart punch. There's that luscious embroidered ribbon again (I just can't get enough of it!)! I just love the simple elegance of this card (if I do say so myself!)
I've been working like mad to get some things finished up and can't wait to show you what's in store for next week! Until then check out my fellow Petal Press DT members and see what they have created!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sleigh Ride

It's that time again! Tracy has designed another fabulous stamp set for The Petal Press (this one is a winter set) and it will be available from i {heart} papers on October 16! Until then, you can find sneak peeks from the Petal Press design team on our blogs. (You can find my fellow DT members on the side bar of my blog.) This stamp set contains a sleigh and various "pieces" to put in it. For my card today, I took the branches with bulbs and stamped it into a wreath shape. That's the great thing about acrylic stamps and acrylic blocks, you can see right through them when you are stamping to position the image right where you want them! I didn't even draw a circle on my card stock first, I just started stamping away. I colored in the bulbs with my aqua painter and reinkers. On the old olive layer beneath the wreath I stamped one of the verses from the set in versamark ink. I colored over the gray bulbs with my clear spica glitter pen to make them look silver. I just love old olive and elegant eggplant together and this silk ribbon matches the eggplant perfectly!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Petal Press DT members to see their creations!

Feels like fall

We had our first official frost last night. Brrrr!! I think it's time to put the blankets on the beds! I haven't forgotten about the Happy Harvest blog candy winner- but first you need to see my card for today! I used Mercy's sketch for my layout and my Happy Harvest stamp set from i {heart} papers. I colored my image with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol then layered it on some squares cut with my nestabilities. The rest is pretty straight forward but please ask if you have any questions! Okay, now the winner of the Happy Harvest stamp set according to random.org is #3 RONDA C!! Ronda please email me your address so I can get your set to you!
I'm looking forward to a quiet night at home with a little bit of stamping tonight while the older kids are at confirmation. Did you know that this Saturday, October 3, is world cardmaking day?! There are many activities going on throughout the web so it should be a busy stamping weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

I've got Candy!!

I have a couple more Happy Harvest cards to share with you today. I used a new (to me) product on this one. It is called Crackle Accents and it is the coolest stuff! If you like the cracked glass technique but are a bit impatient with all of the steps (I'm raising my hand here), all you have to do is coat your project with this stuff right out of the bottle and let it dry (about 45 minutes) and it cracks on it's own! I stamped my grapes in elegant eggplant and then used reinkers to color them. I added the crackle medium and set them aside to dry. When I came back I was a little disappointed in how the ink bled outside of the lines but after looking at it again, I think it gives it an elegant look! I think next time I will try a permanent ink. I added some layers of soft suede and elegant eggplant card stock, along with a nestabilities labels 8 shape that I texturized with a Quickutz embossing folder. To see another Happy Harvest card and the fianle to my month as Jen's Guest Designer, go HERE!

Have you enjoyed this month's creations with Tracy's great Happy Harvest set (available only at i {heart} papers)? Would you like to win a set of your own? All you need to do is post a comment on this post and I will draw a winner on Tuesday! Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

The petal Press Release Day

It's finally time to release The Petal Press Happy Harvest stamp set! have you enjoyed our sneak peeks? Well, today it is available for purchase at i {heart} papers and you can find it right HERE! I have 2 more cards to share with you today so don't go running off quite yet!

The other day I was gushing about Stampin' Up's! soft suede paper and here it is again! This time I paired it with this beautiful Apple Cider Dp by Pink Paislee. I used layers of ruby red and soft suede and stamped my image with Versamark ink. I love the subtleness of this! The sparkly champagne ribbon is by American Crafts and the pearl accents are from Kaiser Craft.

I think this one might be my favorite card yet! I used Twilight DP from Memory Box and layered it on black card stock that I used my embossing border punch on. I stamped "thanks" from the Happy Harvest set and then outlined it with a black spica pen. I cut out the sentiment with the nestabilities tag trio and cut off one end so it would fit where I wanted it! The ribbon is black faux suede and is so soft! I used a piece of hemp twine to hold it in place. On the Tangerine tango layer I used an embossing folder from Quickutz.

Thanks for stopping by! (Now go over to i {heart} papers and snatch up that set before they are gone!)

Happy Friday!

I have another Petal Press peek for you today! Because these stamps are clear acrylic, they are easy to bend and shape. This time I used one of the images and curved it on my acrylic block to fit inside the embossing on my oval nestabilities! I colored it with my reinkers and an aqua painter. The card stock is soft suede. I wasn't too sure when I first saw this color but now I really like how versatile it is. Kind of a brown color, other times a greenish color. I used my top note die and layered it on another piece of the soft suede that I stitched around. The ribbon is an elegant embroidered satin by May Arts.
The first week of school/work is almost finished and we all survived! We're still getting used to the new schedule so this weekend will be a few days of catching up on our sleep!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Harvest

The new set by Petal Press (and fabulous designer, Tracy) is called Happy Harvest. It is a kind of "build upon" set and is clear so it is super easy to use! For my card today I used the main pumpkin image and then the bouquet of fall flowers is another stamp that was easy to line up on top of the pumpkin! I used my prismacolor pencils to color in the image and then stitched around it with my sewing machine. I decided to use some non-traditional fall colors. I'm just not ready for fall yet! I think the flowers are supposed to be sunflowers but I colored them like my daises that are still blooming on my front step. (I'm really not a gardener like Tracy is so forgive me if I don't know what flowers they depict!) A little more stitching, a fancy border punch and some dew drops along with that cute vine trim complete the card. Be sure to stop by the other girls' blogs to see what they have cooked up with this set (you can find their links on my side bar!).
Thanks for stopping by!

Just a little side note. I have to give Amy credit for this layout. I browse her gallery often and fell in love with this card. I knew this great new Petal Press set would be showcased beautifully with her layout. Thanks for the inspiration Amy!!
